Toolset Q.) Re. Linkscape - How is the External Links (link juice) calculated in the API?
For external links a straight division of of PR by links per page isn't the best correlation to Google's ranking and PR system. Things like link location on page, number of links to the same site, anchor links, link text, nearby text, and more all play a part in calculating how much link juice to pass. The short answer, they don't exactly say. The long answer can be found on the pages referenced below, but you still won't get an exact number. The take away is that SEOmoz is constantly working to correlate their Linkscape produced data and rankings to Google's data and rankings. What Parts Of Domain Registration Change Affect Rank
Understood. I'm not talking about buying and selling websites. Just owning it and making changes to the registration... private from public and street address. Thanks!

SEO ethical practice in question
Haha, what the??!! They're charging her for hosting and putting her in a sub directory of their own domain? Jeez, that is brazen. And they clearly must be one of those companies that profess to supply SEO but don't actually know squat about it. Tell her to fire their ass! And to ask for a refund on all her hosting payments. Tell her to tell them that all us crazies on this thread would like to throw wet kippers at them!

Am I keyword stuffing my titles?
If the title is relevant to the content then that's good, but from a technical sense: You shouldn't repeat any word in a title more than twice, and each instance of that word should be separated by at least one other word. Then, you have to think about what the titles are going to be on your other pages, I'd say you're more in danger of keyword canibalization within your title in that example than of keyword stuffing (assuming the rest of the site is about back pain, etc...).

Corporate blog
Ok thanks. I'm going to do some research into this anyway - I'll make a post if I find anything that may be of interest.

Site problem
I notice the page speed of your equity site was 60/100, a super quick fix for this is Gzip compression in HT Access (if on linux, not so quick on Windows). A little more complex would be caching rules, both will have a great beneficial effect on page speed, and hopefully SERPs too. Best of luck, just noticed your in Lancaster! just down the road from me in Chorley!

Best practice to redirects based on visitors' detected language
We've adopted the following solution: we show the English homepage, but we determine the user's preferred language (from the Accept-Language header sent by the browser). If our site supports that language, we show a temporary balloon that highlights the related link to go to the localized homepage. Thank you all for your hints and notes.

.ca and international SEO
Interesting! This is a nice way to funnel traffic that we have already captured into our .ca domains, as well as build that interlinking between sites. Really want to capture that new Canadian market (For our e com Canada has some different part numbers as well as a different selection of products available to them) Though i am still considering how to approach this, trying to avoid having much of the duplicate content across international pages.

Hi, I found that one of my competitors have zero backlings in google, zero in yahoo but about 50.000 in Bing. How is that possible?
Hi, I analyzed both pages with OSE: Me: Page authority 22, Domain Authority 20, Linking Root domains 4, Total Links 489 Competitor: Page authority 20, Domain Authority 8, Linking Root domains 1 (the domain itself), Total Links 5. The given Keyword is part of both urls and and the first part of the title tag and in the content of both pages. I am writing at least one article for the topic per month with all my SEO-knowledge (which ist obviously quite bad...) While this site has only one article on the front page and contains 6 pages all in all (Impressum, Contact details...) Well, I jsut dont get it why this page which is only set up to rank high and to sent people to an ajacent AmazonStore is ranking so well (Pos 3). I am an Pos 6.. It has no external links at all and no good content. Looks like a panda has to come again and eat the damn website...

Why is a 301 redirected url still getting indexed?
Does anybody have an idea? Its really freaking me out. A couple of days ago the redirected version had 32 indexed pages, and today it has 53. How come a redirected website is getting indexed? I thought the minute a 301'ed page would be crawled, it would automatically be removed from the index.
