What tactics can I use to ensure that my company shows up on Google's first page for all results?
To help sculpt your search engine results, I would suggest using anchor text on the page you don't want to appear in SERPs, with a link to the page you do wish to appear. If the search term you are using is blue widgets, then provide a link from the old page to the new page using "blue widgets" as the anchor text. This method will send a strong signal to search engines as to which page from your site should be returned for the given term. Follow up by ensuring the target page is optimized for the term as well.

Is this a good strategy?
I have a similar problem, 5-10 pages of static content that I need to make look more 'alive' to Google. Sadly I cannot add too much content as it is scientific specific content and I am a mere SEOer! I use the keyword tool on SEOMoz. Find out the keywords for your products, put them into the tool, find out who ranks highest for the words and link to them from the product's 'useful links' page. After a month or so politely email these sites and ask them to link back to you. Simple and effective.

SE Nuke, is it any good?
SEnuke is amazing if used correctly - what everyone fails to understand about SEnuke is the fact that it is simply software. I could take Microsoft Excel and be as harmful as SEnuke could even remotely be but SEnuke and Areeb (The primary developer), have assured you the very best SEO Automation Software available today! If you have any questions please contact mkephart25@gmail.com | I have a lifetime SEnuke license and I wouldn't sell it for a million dollars...Senuke Reviews

What is the sense of robots.txt?
While your robots.txt file is not the best means to control search engines, it does have a purpose. To respond to your questions: the file does not "attract" any robots, but robots who do visit can learn a bit about your site and understand what content you don't wish to be crawled you can block parts of your site that you feel have no value for indexing such as Keri mentioned your "print" version of pages, or overlays pages, or login pages, etc. The idea is that you own the website, and you can have a measure of control over it. You can disallow specific crawlers, etc. although it's up to each crawler whether they actually respect your wishes. More details can be read at: http://www.robotstxt.org/

Multiple same domain links on Open Site Explorer
Every domain is unique. seomoz.org seomoz.com seomoz.hu The above represents three separate domains. They could all be owned and operated by the same person or company. They could all have separate owners. Either way each domain would be considered it's own entity. If seomoz owned all 3 of the above domains, and they chose to link to you, then you would receive three unique links to your site from those domains. The value of those links would be determined based on the DA of those sites, and the PA of the pages which are linking to you. I know for Yahoo, you can get listed in all their local country's Yahoo directories. I am unsure of how the process works for Google.

How do you know when to upgrade hosting to VPS or Dedicated Server from an SEO perspective?
Before adding new expenses purely for a speed boost, I would suggest looking at your site with PageSpeed. It is a free add-on in FireFox and is also available for Chrome. The results will let you know what opportunities you have to improve your page load optimization. Some changes offer a noticeable and immediate difference. Don't try to get a perfect score. Generally speaking, anything 90+ is fine. If you are purely looking at speed, VPS + Cloud would probably be the ideal solution. I would specifically use Amazon's cloud service to start, as they charge you on your exact usage with no minimum. If you ever get up to $100/month in usage, you can then began to examine other services to compare pricing. If you use a cloud, I recommend not only offering your images and video files, but all your CSS and Javascript files. Your users will notice the speed difference. I also want to be clear you may be able to keep your existing shared server and make other adjustments, or change hosts, and be absolutely fine. A shared server often costs less then $100/yr, where a dedicated server or VPS + Cloud will probably be $150+ per month. It's a big difference.

Non www has 110 links the www has 5 - rankings have gone
It's important to stick with one or the other. We changed from www to non www and saw a drop in our SERPS that lasted about 3 weeks. Google was still showing www on our home page only, the rest were non www. We found that all of our pages linked back to www.page/index. We just fixed that a few days ago and I'm guessing google will figure it out in a week or two.

Only showing googlebot schema.org tagged content - cloaking??
Cloaking is defined by Google as "presenting different content to users and search engines". I recall Matt Cutts offering a geo-targeting example to further explain this issue. It's ok to show users in Canada some content, and then users from the US different content. It is not ok (i.e. would be considered cloaking) to set it up to always show Google bot the US version. Google wants you to treat their bot as a normal user and not make any special changes for them. In your case, you are specifically showing Google bot something different then regular users, so yes it is considered cloaking. The two points to make in the case you brought up are: you are not altering "content", you are altering meta tags which the users do not see anyway and do not impact the user experience there is no malicious intent. You are not doing this to deceive users or Google. In short, yes it meets the definition of cloaking. Google specifically says offering "different" content represents cloaking. Even though you are showing "more" content, that would be a difference. If you didn't show users an H1 tagged title at the top of your page, but you showed it to Google, that would be an example where you are showing more to Google and would definitely be cloaking. My biggest concern would be Google's automated system detecting it as cloaking then removing your pages or site from the index. You would then explain your actions through the Reconsideration Request and then Google would either accept your explanation or require a change.
