Keyword research
Hi Lydia, I re-read your answer and something got me confused. If my main keyword is "SEO", you are saying that as a secondary / supporting keyword it is best to use "SEO" by itself instead of "SEO tools" because it has got a different meaning ? Thank you,

Domain authority
Hi Joao, 1- DA drop, that could be many reasons. Considering the case that you've not done any major updates and/or created spammy links or disavowed them (in moz's tool) then, its possible that the top domains increased their authority, as they DA cant increase over 100, it makes the lower DA domains to decrease. 2- It's hard to say why your site drop some rankings without your site's URL. If its the case that you have not made any changes and/or created spammy links or disavowed links (in Google Search Console), then its likely that your competitors made some improvements. Keep in mind that DA/PA or any other metric outthere does not tell the quality of any site. its just an approximation of what that tool understands about google algorithms. Hidden text and mobile indexing
Yes, Google's been quite clear that once a site is in the mobile-first index, the content that only becomes visible on user interaction will no longer be discounted the way ti is now. But remember, the mobile-first index is slowly being rolled out on a site-by-site basis. So you'll need to do some specific investigation of your own site to know whether it has in fact been moved to the new indexing method. Hope that helps? Paul

Homepage Gateway for Website Divisions (Residential / Commercial) Bad for SEO?
Thanks, Marcus! Yes there will not be much crossover so this does feel like the best solution. I agree too about the homepage including more supportive content than Culligan includes as well as developing the structured nav at that early stage. Very helpful. - Mark

Question About Permalink Showing Up in Search Results
Google is showing "Knowledge Base" for your site because it has recognized breadcrumbs on your website. The competitors whose longer links are showing up don't use breadcrumbs, so Google has no structured data on what category it's in. There isn't a setting to toggle "show breadcrumbs" or "show full URLs" - if you use breadcrumbs that Google recognizes, it will automatically display them in SERPs. Breadcrumbs typically improve your sitewide SEO and also can give visitors a clue about what type of page they're visiting, so if you choose your categories and breadcrumbs wisely, I think it can improve the user experience. I definitely wouldn't remove the breadcrumbs from the website just so the SERPs will show longer URLs.

Topics and H tag
The more niche, the better results...IMO. If you want to get ranked well on 3 different topics, build 3 different pages. You would only want (1) H1 tag per page, and multiple H2-H6 tags per page.

Cost Difference Between Coding Custom Theme or Coding Child Theme
I definitely understand. My agency works with premium themes / child themes and find that while many are very clunky and bloated, we don't notice any issues with the code not being clean enough. When using pre-built WordPress themes, we find it's important to utilize canonical tags when necessary, always check on page speed, and to noindex unnecessary pages. We also use Yoast SEO plugin, which will cover some themes' faults. Having said that, I'm not a developer, but I'm sure there are themes out there with invalid or unfriendly code. Yoast has a good post on choosing WP themes: https://yoast.com/perfect-wordpress-theme/

Help! I need help with building a backlink campaign. Need best practices please.
Great recommendation by Donna! I would also recommend the following Professional Online Business Directories (Company.Com, Angieslist, BBB, Yelp, Manta, Alignable, Crunchbase, etc.) Start Writing Relevant Content on Your Niche/Industry/Products etc. then promote and share content/posts. Look out for any opportunities to be in a resources list or niche directory using the below Search Strings in Google “industry” inurl:directory “industry” inurl:links “industry” intitle:directory “city” inurl:directory “city” inurl:businesses “city” intitle:directory Also, check out https://moz.com/blog/tribute-to-eric-ward which goes over "Link Strategies That Stand The Test of Time"
