  • Thanks, Kyle. I appreciate the thorough response. These are great points, many of which, I tried to make without success. Everyone tried to keep the site together, and indeed the majority of the concern is definitely for the defecting office, but this particular branch seems pretty determined to go its own way. Some SEO companies can be so persuasive...top 3 ranking for every keyword under the sun...guaranteed.   So, now the main goal for the group is to ensure that the rest of the branches in the organization to not have any negative SEO impact as a result of this switch. Thanks again.

  • I want to say I agree with Tom I focused strictly on your CMS and as Tom said essentially you have been hurt by your lack of relevant root domains pointing to your site. Unfortunately after penalty given with an excellent cleanup Google is a little more wary of everything you do. So when you try to earn these new links which will need to do to compete for specialist paints an extremely competitive keyword. Be extremely careful that you do not cross any boundaries. Take a look at the information below as well I did quite a few scans on your site and hopefully that will be of some help to you. Respectfully, Thomas

  • My thinking was if you read the Beginner's Guide, then you can be able to better tell if an "expert" is truly an expert, or trying to feed you a line and take your money.

  • schema is a method that all 3 takes search engines Google Yahoo and Bing use to better understand the content in your site. & make your data  "machine readable" to search engines. HTML 5 incorporates schema into the code natively so it is something that Google and every other search engine is using as part of their algorithm so is important that it is implemented correctly. There are different types of schema For instance I can use schema to easily tell a search engine that I am a local business and where they can find me this would result in the site that had the correct local schema on it coming up in universal search results for whatever keywords my site was relevant to. I could use a tool like this Below its website is great as well with a lot of information on schema that's easy to understand. http://www.feedthebot.com/tools/address/ An excellent place to get information about schema and a company that builds the fantastic WordPress plug-in http://schema-creator.org/ another excellent places the Google FAQ page https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1211158 want to use rel=author download Yoast  WordPress SEO plug-in then followed the instructions given here you can use these instructions to do this on other similar plug-ins as well. http://yoast.com/push-rel-author-head/ & read http://yoast.com/wordpress-rel-author-rel-me/ If you're authorship is set up correctly and the  Google Structured Data  test shows it working correctly it should work. However one quick thing you should check is to make sure there is a checkmark next to your home pages URL on your Google + page there could be a number of reasons why a just not showing up I would check the instructions above and make sure that everything is done correctly. I hope this is not of hope to you sincerely, Thomas FgFb6Y-UJUI

  • How have you gotten your links so far? The strongest ones I see are very exact match looking, on homepages, and therefore I am wondering if they are paid links or other business deals.

  • Here you must use /water-sports/rafting-bali/ because it provide the complete sense if i read the url, and if you use only rafting, then its get little trouble to identify that where the rafting is connected .... In this case you must use /water-sports/rafting-bali/

  • Unfortunately we're using blogengine.net and it's not the easiest to navigate. There is a place to enter custom coding in the heading, but it doesn't specify whether it is for the archived pages or not. From what I can tell, on the specific pages, there are nofollow codes for each individual story on each archive page, but not for the archive page itself. Sorry, relatively new to this.

  • http://moz.com/learn/seo/redirection can help. You're specifically looking for the "Redirecting Canonical Hostnames" section. Briefly, google considers the following as different pages, even if they are the same. example.com www.example.com Other fun things that can also happen are having all of these pages have the same content, but you can use the following URLs to get to that one piece of content: example.com example.com/ example.com/index.html www.example.com www.example.com/ www.example.com/index.html Hope that helps!

  • I won't be doing it.  The Search Engines have changed since the early 2000s. Do you have a .us or .info to protect your brand?  To match my domain authority and brand awareness from Google, they would have to tons and tons of work.  "Protecting your brand" implies to me that someone will be pretending to be you and sell stuff that you offer.  They'd have to outrank me for my keywords and brand awareness.  I don't see that happening.  EMDs could still be worth it but people naturally search for things vs typing in the exact domain name with correct extension.  (I know Google had an EMD update but that effect mostly thin content EMD)  If you are truly a "brand" with recognition, people know what outlets you have.  If someone is pretending to be BobGW.blog, I find it hard to believe they would be overtaking your efforts.  I just don't see it working out like it did early on in the web.  Brands matter now and microsites (though they still work) are going by the wayside.

  • Are they showing as duplicate content within Moz Analytics? As long as the search engines don't see it as duplicate content you shouldn't have a problem. Here are some things to check for: The content should be localised as best as possible (e.g. the differences between US, Canadian and British English). I'm not sure it's possible with your sites, but things like contact details and local currency can help send the right signals to Google etc. - so the address and phone number if you have a HQ in each country. Each site should be registered separately with Bing and Google Webmaster Tools and geotargeted to the relevant location. Use the hreflang attribute if you're not already (triple-check to make sure it is set up properly): https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/189077?hl=en - you can set Canadian English (en-ca) and Canadian French (fr-ca) - the language always comes before the country. As you mentioned your terms and conditions, I noticed a lot of companies are using very similar wording to yours, so that could be an issue of duplicate content that features on completely different websites. You could rewrite the t's and c's, though I wouldn't see any harm in noindexing those particular pages.

  • Hi In Open Site Explorer, there are various filters for the Inbound Links report. By default it shows "all" links from "all" pages to "this page" (i.e. the page at the URL entered). But you can change the filters to show links that are from "external" or "internal" pages to "pages on this sub-domain" (e.g. www.) or "pages on this root domain". Yes, different tools will show different results especially for external inbound links due to the nature of how much of the web they crawl. In those cases, I would always look at the highest figure on the basis that the crawler that reported was able to crawl more pages and find more inbound links. I hope that helps, Peter
