Having some level of structure in you site can be helpful for analytics, too. For Moz for example, we can look at everything happening on the blog by looking at /blog, everything on Q&A by looking at /community/q/, etc.

Hi Safia, If you saw an immediate change in rankings then there probably was an issue or something affected your rankings before you upgrade and installed the SEO plugin. Google is in most cases not able to directly crawl your site and recalculate the index for specific keywords.

Hey Robert What do you mean you "can't touch everything"? Do you mean edit the image title, alt text etc? If this was a gigantic site, I might suggest some sort of crawl optimization. Also, I generally avoid plugins like the plague unless they offer a real super value add - and in the case of media management the built in WordPress media management is pretty solid for most sites. But it does look like this is the theme determining the location of some of these, not plugins (except for maybe those avatars). -Dan

Usually your site tends to bounce around a lot when it's new, as Google tries to figure out where you belong in your SERPs. If your site has been around for 10 years, then that's probably not the case. Personalization is the first culprit I would look to, and if it wasn't that then it could just be Google testing a new algo tweak.

Hey Tony, I updated you via email, but I am posting the response here for your reference, as well. Unfortunately, it does look like the this is a limitation of the tool and we are unable to export the full social data at this time. Our engineers are investigating if we will be able to edit this limitation in the future, but this would mean a major coding change, so we aren't certain if this is will be possible. Thanks Takeshi, We will indeed test some different Meta Titles. We were only doubting if we should include our website name(url) in the Meta Title. Gianluca Fiorelli, confirms that it is wise to do so here: http://moz.com/community/q/what-emd-meta-title-should-we-use-and-what-about-getting-links-to-the-same-c-block-ip We will test some plural/singular terms in the Meta Title to see if this makes the different.

Believe me when I say, Google has enough experience to deal with this kind of "attacks". They automatically monitor click fraud and even using proxies won't circumvent Google's techniques to detect click-fraud. Anyway, you can contact Google explaining the issue right from your AdWords dashboard.

If you want nothing on that test subdomain indexed, verify that subdomain as its own site in Google Webmaster Tools, exclude that subdomain from being indexed in robots.txt, then request removal of that site (subdomain) in GWT. And consider setting up a page monitor like https://polepositionweb.com/roi/codemonitor/index.php on the robots.txt of your test site (and live site). It'll check the contents of those pages once a day, and email you if there's a change. Handy if there are multiple people working on the site.

Here's a few things you can do with your Moz Subscription that might be worth checking out: Moz Analytics provides crawl data -- We crawl your site and look for issues with how the site is set up that may impact a search engine's ability to crawl your site's content. You can use this to make sure that all the pages on your site can be found and ranked on search engines. On-page data -- If you go into GA and look at the keywords already sending your site traffic, you can track all of those in Moz Analytics. The next week, we'll automatically grade each top ranking page for the keywords you added (A means the page's content is really well optimized for the keyword, F means not so much). If you click into a grade report, we provide recommendations on how to better optimize for that keyword. Link Data - As you mentioned, we provide information about the highest quality links you're receiving (one of the biggest factors behind where you rank in a search engine), links your competitors are getting, and places where a site mentions your brand name, but doesn't link to you (link opportunities). Brand & Mentions - You can use this section of Moz Analytics to track where certain terms are being mentioned throughout the web. This is useful because you can track your own brand so you can get involved in those conversations. You can see who is talking about your competitors / industry and find content outreach opportunities or other places to get involved in the conversation. It may also give you ideas for new content to write. Research Tools - By having a paid Moz Subscription, you can also use all of our research tools. Open Site Explorer is great for link research. Rank Tracker and Keyword Difficulty are good supplements to keyword research. Followerwonk provides some really interesting tools for growing your social network size and influence. The Moz Toolbar makes it really easy to do research on the fly while you browse the web. There's no harm in disavowing the link but it's probably not necessary.  The point of the disavow tool is to allow webmasters to ask Google to not count links that were made for SEO purposes.  If you had placed this here so that you could increase your rankings then sure, I'd disavow it.  It's unlikely that it's a negative SEO tactic...not with just one link.  But, if you had a pile of these and you felt it was negative SEO then I'd disavow. Every site, even the ones with the cleanest backlink profiles have bizarre links that appear like this.  I would just ignore it. If, however, you are trying to get it removed because you don't like the idea of your face residing on a page filled with porn, then if you can't contact the webmaster, you can try reporting the site to its host.  Sometimes the host will remove spam pages/sites.
