Moz Analytics - How can I turn a whole report to 'Monthly'?
Hey Paul, Thanks for the question. Unfortunately if you initially entered the modules as weekly you will need to go through and remove the wrong time frame and add the correct time frame. Thanks, Joel.

80% Drop in Organic Traffic
Firstly, is there anything wrong with the move? Could I have lost my rankings for this reason? It appears there may be an issue with the redirects. I am seeing strange headers resolving elsewhere beside your new domain. I would ask your guy to look into them. The 301 is hitting the new domain but there are 302s in the header response codes pointing to another location as well. SEE: http://screencast.com/t/53MnOfHCK3 ADDED Below due to a complete lapse in memory of country specific functionality. Keep in mind that could just be country specific redirection based upon the tool so don't quote me but I would disable the functionality after a move. My notes on disabling this are to add the following to blog head section:

How to make site pages appear higher than homepage
If [hats in chicago] clicks are converting into sales you should be careful about playing with this in case you lose the ranking altogether. Saying that, individual product pages usually convert better than anything else so it may be best to concentrate on those instead of category pages. To rank a category page that lists the hats you have available there are a number of things you can do if you haven't already: If you don't want the homepage to rank, make sure you're not committing keyword cannibilisation Ensure your onpage SEO is spot-on for the hat page e.g. title tag with your keyword (and maybe a price/offer/incentive to encourage clicks, meta description to encourage clicks, descriptive image filenames and alt attributes, useful URL structure Onpage too - add some unique introductory text Show review data (such as AggregateRating) by each product and consider adding a small number of reviews to category pages - user generated content is good for getting unique content. I say a small number of reviews to avoid duplicate content issues Link to your most important category pages from every page on your website via a main menu Add breadcrumbs Make sure you have an HTML sitemap, and an XML sitemap submitted to the search engines - both listen all your pages

Does this URL need rewriting?
I'm actually not going to rewrite the URL since, based on the responses, it's not too spammy. I was just wondering if it was spammy since it was long and jumbled. But what an awesome post by Paul Thompson! Taught me a couple of things! Thanks!

How to get facebook likes, for a business that no one would like?
I'd look around at other Facebook pages for the same type of business. Here are a couple to get you started: https://www.facebook.com/ulrichbarns https://www.facebook.com/pages/Barn-Builders-Inc/111190548893280 https://www.facebook.com/artisanbarns You could use it as a place to showcase your recent projects, and help answer questions people may have. How does someone choose the right sized barn? What are the permits like in various areas of Colorado? What are some money-saving tips for keeping the barn warm in winter? Probably a lot of the same things you talk about on your website, but this also gives you a chance to interact with people. If you want to ask questions, I'd lean more towards things like memories of your favorite barn as a kid, what would your dream barn look like, which would you prefer -- a garage or a barn, etc.

Small Business website help please. All help is appreciated and thank you in advance.
Although this could help us read the code, I'd say it's pretty low on the priority list as far as where to spend time/energy. The site is WordPress, so unless they recode the theme or get a developer to do it, it's going to have to be compressed code. There are many tools which can aid the process of evaluating a site's code; http://www.browseo.net/ fetch as Google - https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/158587?hl=en a header checker like - http://urivalet.com/ plugins like the MozBar - http://moz.com/tools/seo-toolbar

Does Google still don't index Hashtag Links ? No chance to get a Search Result that leads directly to a section of a page? or to one of numeras Hashtag Pages in a single HTML page?
What if : I had the Visa content on a separate URL before: www.mydomain.com/CountryName/VisaInfo and I redirected it to the new One travel guide consolidated content section of visa: www.mydomain.com/CountryName#VisaInfo ? Will the old URL (with Page Title and Meta Description) still be indexed and the traffic that used to get there gets to the new exact Visa section on the new page?

SEO for a homepage... What do you put? Focus on the brand or products?
Hi Chris, I would suggest that you highlight each of your main services on the homepage with a small amount of text and a link leading to the individual page for each service. At the same time, each service should be in the main menu of the website as well. So, you might have an area on the homepage which reads: What We Can Do For You. Beneath this, you would have a set of little lead-ins like kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, fence building or what have you, each with maybe 2-3 sentences summarizing a service and then a 'learn more about this service' link for each one. Hope this helps!

How Many Images on 1 Page Are Acceptable
I have been using plain text to caption my images.. .but the page that you shared looks like a better idea. It communicates that you are writing about an image. I have not used that coding but I think it would work well. Perhaps better than what I use. Thanks!

Are wordpress themes like from themeforest bad?
Hi Chris, Don't get hung up on load times. These are not going to make a lot of difference if you have an amazing site. I have a number of sites of my own, all using a Wordpress single page theme that was purchased from there and I rank 1st to 4th for a range of very highly competitive phrases. Find a theme you like, look for good reviews and don't worry about having to go with a specific framework. -Andy

Can unreliable server hurt your serps?
I can watch soft 404 errors increase and know there will be a week to two week period with lower SERP scores. They absolutely can affect your campaign.

Time Graph for Competitor Rankings
Hi Steffany, thanks for your reply, indeed I didn't know the competitive link metrics in my campaign yet. The thing is, that my campaign is very new (same as my website). So I don't have historical link data. But is there a way I can see (on a time graph) when my competitors have started to build links? This would help me to see their pace and effort in a visual way. Best, Robin

301 redirects don't work properly
Been indeed working on this almost all day hehe. I found that I set a redirect for /bankstellen to /bankstellen.html which caused all the links to become /bankstellen.html/u or whatever it should be. What I did not find is what you just mentioned here above. Thanks for the answer, will for sure look into this!

Changing the XML Sitemap address
Just ensure you update robots.txt with the new address. Re-submit the new sitemap to the search engines. Should be as simple as that. Your URLs have not changed. Your sitemap does not determine the indexing of all URLs but gives the search engines a good idea what to crawl, on top of being able to crawl from URL to URL on the site. It mainly is to help you see what has been indexed in comparison to what you have submitted. Unfortunately Webmaster Tools is not fully to speed anyway so may not show the same results as site:some-domain.com.
