Changing Social Media Profiles Name
Hi Gareth, Glad it's helpful! For your Company Page, I have some bad news: there is no way to change your company page in a rebrand. At Moz, we tried reaching out to LinkedIn with no avail. And they have no process to apply for a name change or a merge. We have to create a new page from scratch, lose all our followers, and have all our employees go and change their own profiles.

Will redirecting poor traffic web pages increase web presence
Hi Mark, I would say that there will be negligible results in redirecting these pages unless they happen to have a high number of good inbound links from other sources. Redirecting the individual pages alone is unlikely to make a huge difference to the authority / strength / rankings of the high-traffic pages you redirect to or the domain itself. If you were to do this, I would do it with usability in mind. Do people arriving on the low traffic pages regularly bounce? Do you believe that they would be more likely to convert if they arrived on the high traffic page? I am not a CRO expert so would stop short of making CRO testing advice. The one SEO benefit I can think of would be if those low-traffic pages are contributing to any duplicate content issues on your site and redirecting them would count as "cleaning up" the site. This is definitely not for sure, so I'd still stick with the mindset that you'd be doing this for the purpose of directing traffic, not search engines. I hope this helps. Jane

What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a dynamic website in terms of SEO? and a static website?
SEO there is no huge benefit but lets look at it a different way : user experience - at the end of the day that what we are all aiming to make great, if you have a great website that's great to use people will want to use it and fingers crossed share it. Dynamic sites are great because they fit into the users style depending on what resolution they have or how they have their window it lets them use your site as they want to. now that sounds great but obviously it can take a bit more time and knowledge to create a dynamic site but its worth it in the longer run. Best of luck !

What is a healthy ratio of keywords being used as anchor text in external links to our site?
Try not to focus on percentages. most SEOs try and build a certain % of each type (branded, naked URL, exact match keyword, random anchors, synonym keywords, etc). The problem with trying to do this is you're manipulating your link profile. The key to building a natural link profile is letting the link type do the work. Take your Moz profile as an example. You're allowed a link to multiple sites - the NATURAL link type for this is naked. Other sites will let you add an anchor - if you do, use a branded one. Blog comments are another example. Most platforms will allow you to create an anchor, but it's unnatural. Use a naked URL for blog comments and you can diversify easily. There's a really good article that goes into detail about it here: http://webris.org/anchor-text/

Document download sites linking to my site. Should I disavow?
Thanks guys! I think I'll approach it with the DMCA side first. I was reading the disavow tool should be a last ditch effort. This is a portfolio that I really don't want any traffic to and it is essentially content scraping for all intensive purposes, they are just putting the PDFs in a viewer rather than posting the actual content to the pages. I also suspect it's some sort of network of sites because they've all popped up recently and they're all using the same documents. There's literally no need to drive traffic to this part of my site, it's a portfolio for clients only.

Does an subdomain hosted offsite provide SEO value
Thanks Michael for the response. The primary reasoning we were thinking of using the subdomain is technical in that the applicant processing software only allows us to use a subdomain to display our job. They effectively host the job board on their servers and we setup a cname (jobs.ourcompany.com points to ourcompany.jobapplicantsoftware.com). With the content hosted there is sounds like they get the credit or does our subdomain? My other idea is setting up a canonical tag for the pages hosted on jobs.ourcompany.com to point to ourcompany.com/jobs. I could create two copies of the same content so the users wouldn't know the difference. Wonder if that would work?

Business Uses Third Party for Phone Number
Hi Noah, I think the first issue here is actually going to be that Google+ Local doesn't consider rental properties as appropriate candidates for inclusion. Here is the language regarding this: Ineligible Business Models Rental or for-sale properties, such as vacation homes or vacant apartments, are not eligible to be listed on Google Maps and should not be verified. Instead, verify the listing for your sales or leasing office or offices. If you have a property with an on-site office, you may verify that office location. Does the company have an on-site office? Otherwise, they will not be able to fully participate in typical local search activities. They should definitely not be using another company's phone number. Google will be aware that this phone number belongs to the booking agency, and actually, having the client publish this in index-able text on their own website will harm the NAP consistency of the booking agency. In order to fully participate in citation building, the client needs a physical, staffed office and a unique phone number at which the person who answers the phone answers with the company's name - not the name of a third party business. I think you've surfaced a really interesting case here. You've made me wonder how many vacation rental companies are in this same boat!

How is my 301 redirected site stealing rankings from the main site?
Hey Daniel, I doubt that sending radio traffic to the old URL would have any impact on which page is ranking in Google. Another thing you should do is add canonical tags to all of your pages. That will also help Google tell which version of the page is the correct version to show, and also helps prevent a lot of common duplicate content issues.

A tool Like Way Back Machine !!!
Rankings for which specific keywords? Unless a someone is actively tracking a keyword using a tool like Moz, the historical ranking data for that keyword isn't going to exist. Some of the larger search services like Searchmetrics, BrightEdge, and Linkdex may have ranking data for some of the more popular websites for their top keywords.

'People Also Searched for' appears on some but not all local businesses, why? (Google Local Knowledge Panel)
Hi George, You are 100% right that the client cannot cause this feature not to appear, nor can they influence what appears in it. As to why the 'people also searched for' is appearing on your client's results, and not on their competitor's, that a good question for which I know no answer. For some reason, Google feels it's important to show the 'people' feature on one result and not the other. Could be that it will appear tomorrow or in six months on the competitor's search, too. The feature is still pretty new and may not have been rolled out for everything it eventually will be. I know business owners hate this. Google has had a history of showing the competition for local results in a variety of ways over the years. One just has to live with this and work hard on all of the things that can be controlled.
