Hey Hardley, I concur with Kevin's point below. Giving all of your traffic to YouTube isn't the best idea. Phil Nottingham's research has shown that an extremely low number of users click through to links in YouTube descriptions. Naturally, YouTube is the 2nd biggest search engine on the web and people will find you within it, but you should consider self-hosting your videos so the traffic lands on your website. Wistia is a great solution for that. All that said, YouTube pages pretty much follow the same rules as any other page on the web with regard to Google. On-page optimization with keyword-relevant copy, titles and metadata and off-page optimization in the form of links. Do those things as you normally would and your videos will rank in Google. The on-page factors and engagement metrics lead to its ranking within YouTube. YouTube also has its own Keyword Research tool so you can identify the terms that need to be placed in your tags, descriptions and titles. -Mike

Hello David, This is an issue for many sites at the moment, I think. I just finished diving really deep into another site having the same problem, and we ended up - after fixing everything that "could" be wrong - deciding that Google has probably tightened the reigns on rich snippets displaying for product pages. Whether this is based on page-level authority metrics, number of reviews, trustworthiness of the reviews, etc... I do not know. It is not guaranteed that a page will display snippets in the SERPs even if the code is implemented correctly. That is about all we can know at the moment. The same goes for rel author thumbs and other enhanced SERPs.

Just to add to that I keep recommending this product but it is good, Screaming Frog. It allows you to spider your site for issues FOC download. Regards

Hi, Federico is right - there is no good evidence that a large number of tweets directly influences the rankings of a page... it is a good signal, but it is not nearly as directly correlated to rankings as links are. Definitely not saying that Twitter campaigns are useless: I assume with some confidence that Google analyses content's popularity and spread on Twitter and will have a good grasp on what constitutes real Twitter popularity and what is manipulated or done entirely by spam accounts. This could be used as a signal to indicate a page's current popularity, and on-going success would indicate a good resource. This isn't well studied or proven yet though, so keep that in mind when looking at social metrics from an SEO point of view.

You may also want to go into your Google Webmaster Tools and "Fetch As Google". Open your GWT > Click Crawl > Select "Fetch as Google". If you want Google to fetch your homepage you can leave the URL field blank and just click fetch.

Hi Ruben, There is no problem with putting the +1 on any page on your site people might want to share or 'vouch' for on Google+. If it's easiest to add it to all of your pages, that's fine too. I like removing social buttons from pages that aren't likely to get shared, simply to improve page speed. No, there is no concern over speed of +1s as long as they are legit. A popular blog post may easily get 100-200 +1s in a day. It sounds like you already have a G+ community and are trying to build it more. That is a good thing and something Google wants as well. As long as you aren't trying to fake/game anything, go for it.

Thank you both.  The URLs with TM are indexed by Google with TM in it, I suspect it will have impact on ranking if we simply remove the TM from URL, although nothing else changes.  301 is a protection, to certain extent. Happy Easter. b.dig

Hi Wesley, If, at the bottom of the local pack results, you click on the link that says 'Maps Results for Plumber' and this will take you to Google Maps where you can see more of the plumbers they have indexed by clicking on the page links at the bottom of the left hand column of results within Google Maps. Will this show you every single plumber in San Francisco? No, but it will typically show you more of them. Setting my location to San Francisco and following the above steps, Google states that they have 4000+ entries for this query in Maps. At any rate, it should be quite a few.

Hi, Yes i am fairly sure as a previous SEO company caused all the bad linking. This website has all been organic growth and links. Page visits are down by half, time on site is down by almost half. Is something else a miss? Are rankings for our biggest keyword in a competitive sector is still at 3 on Google UK, so i dont think its a penalty.It could be a browser issue or conflict, i just dont know! the site is recyclingbins dot co.uk Thanks for your help

Makes perfect sense.  thx.  I was concerned that without title keyword it would be hopeless to get A grade.  maybe it is, but if content helps rank push to first page, i'll take it.

I have a similar issue too - a very old website and well-linked to so internal links should be crawled but display as 1 in OSE. Would love to hear how you fixed yours?
