When to use mod rewrite / canonical / 301 redirect
Hi I would definitely setup a 301 redirect for the case sensitive URLs issue - you may already know how to setup this up but I thought I would include this link - http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/18670/how-to-redirect-any-url-to-lowercase-url For your pagination issue you need to look at if it is possible to change /casestudy to a "view all" page and then place a canonical link to the /casestudy page in the of each page in the paginated set. Another option for your pagination is using rel="next" and rel="prev" and for the filter parameters you could tell Googlebot not to crawl these parameter URLs. Hope this helps

Which Domain is better
Personally, I would go with something more like www.lasvegaswrappers.com (which is available). Or www.wrapvegas.com... Something that is less of a mouthful and will probably be easier for people to remember. -Andy

Meta tags not dead? Is this keeping me hidden?
Thank you Philip Thank you so much. I am quite lost. I watched videos and created my pages based on these videos from a seo company. They preach that you must do like site.com/city-keyword-keyword/target keyword. So it is hard to know who is right and who is wrong. I added my state at the beginning thinking that it will help local seo but is this not the right way to think? Thank you. I have a lot to do

Infinite Scrolling: how to index all pictures
Hi Pete, I just wanted to confirm, based on what you wrote: "I don't think the picture- and video-heavy pages are going to rank all that well by themselves. It's just a question of whether those additional pages are diluting your MLS listing pages (by using similar regional keywords, etc.)." I did following: Deleted words "Home" and "Condo" from the title tag and H1 so the neighborhood name is still in title tag and H1, but no mention of home, condo, real estate etc. all written content has been moved from "guides" (where pictures and videos are) to lower part of MLS result pages and I imagine over a 1-2 month period the MLS result pages will get the SEO credit for this unique written content (despite no 301 redirect) I interlink from picture / video pages to MLS result pages with "neighborhood homes for sale" My hypothesis is that over the next few months as G gets a better idea of my website (as the site gets more popular - still only 5 months old) G will know what to rank for "neighborhood homes for sale" search terms. Makes sense?

Redesigning client website and will be losing a lot of landing pages. How to avoid tanking search traffic?
Thanks Anthony and Matt - we were definitely planning on the 301s, I just had concerns about the sheer volume of pages that would be going away. Sounds like we're on the right track! Appreciate your responses..

Competitor sites vs mine - No links, lower DA, and still beating me.
Keep in mind that Moz tools use their own resources. We don't have access to Google's index or tools, and we don't have their resources, so we're not going to be able to show you data that's based on every link in existence for every site out there. So, when you look at your competitors and see they don't have strong metrics, it could be just because our tools haven't picked them up. As far as companies go, if you want someone to take an in-depth look at your site and competitors and figure out a plan of action, we have a list of recommended companies in the footer that could be a good place to start.

Yandex vs. Google
Hi there, Google and Yandex operate in very different ways, so comparing rankings between the two is not a very accurate practice. David is correct that point B is much more relevant / likely than point A though. I would try to avoid drawing comparisons between your rankings on both search engines however.

Does any one know if there is a tool out there built with the Moz API where you can feed in a large list of URLs and get back Domain Authority?
Hi, You could try the seogadget tool for excel, I also had some luck with this excel addon. Haven't used either of them in a while but they both should do what you need with a bit of fiddling.

To Worry or Not? Duplicate Content Created from Redirect After Login
I think something missed about duplicate content is what Google actually does with it. Say you have those two urls, Google is not going to penalize your whole site for the duplicate content. What they do is try to figure out which one should be shown, and sandbag the other one. More than likely the login one would be sandbagged, because it is not linked. You could always add a canonical url to really solve the issue.

Why are my page titles not being honored?
I've definitely found that Google seems to take more liberties giving you the title tag of your choosing when your title tag is too long. I also like the pixel width guidelines over the character recommendations. Your title tag is currently 589 pixels wide, vs the recommended 466 maximum. Fun tool to test it out with: http://www.webshoptimizer.com/page-title-pixel-meter/ Of course, you could change it and create a nice short title tag, and Google may still choose to show something else.

Any idea why this page isn't indexing?
Hi there, I see the page indexed when searching for its URL: http://i.imgur.com/dhCnlqK.png However, there is a huge amount of duplicate content when looking at the leading text on this page: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=%22We+have+exciting+plans+in+place+for+supporting+our+students+and+are+committed+to+a+high+level%22&oq=%22We+have+exciting+plans+in+place+for+supporting+our+students+and+are+committed+to+a+high+level%22&aqs=chrome..69i57.613j0j9&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=91&ie=UTF-8 As such, Google could well be filtering this page when it comes to more competitive searches, as it sees the same content over and over again. Have you noticed the URL being completely de-indexed and not appearing, even when searching specifically for the URL?

Rel="canonical" in hyperlink
Yeah, I'd have to agree that this is not a sanctioned use of rel="canonical". Most likely, it will do nothing at all. I doubt it would harm your site, but it's not accomplishing anything. Google is even pretty picky about placement of the tag - for example, it doesn't seem to work in the body of a page. I ran some experiments with that a couple of years ago.
