I think the spam thing is a real problem. Because the companies been doing it this way for a few months I think I'm may have quite a task ahead of me. I'm hoping that by focussing less on social media and more on SEO I'll be able to draw in a more balanced audience.

Why not convert the PDF to HTML yet still have a download PDF button for clients if desired?  Heck there are lots of free tools to do this, but check the code.  Or you could just use an ALT tag which aren't just for images but for objects.  Not sure if PDF's with ALT tag give much link juice, and if I HAD to keep it as a PDF, I'd convert it to a compressed JPG file and use an ALT tag so that Google knows what the object is and keyterms.

If you don't already, I'd recommend making sure you're sharing your new content socially and encouraging others to do so. Sharing on Twitter has really helped for me. The more your content is shared, either via links or social, the quicker Googlebot will get to it. Hi there! That number is tallying up everything in the managed section in the dashboard. In this case you have a published listing with a duplicate which is why it's saying 2. I can definitely understand how this could be confusing though. I've confirmed that you only have one listing so there's nothing to worry about there. I'm also going to forward this along as feedback to our Local team on your behalf. Apologies again for the confusion here!

Hi! The "Analyze Issues by Page" section actually just says that we didn't crawl that URL, not that it throws a 500 so there isn't an analysis we can provide. http://screencast.com/t/4dY8SZBs You can wait to see if that page is crawled during your next weekly update or run a crawl through the Crawl Test tool (in Research Tools). Crawl test will give you an analysis of up to 3k pages. There is a chance it still won't be crawled, but it is a way to get updated diagnostic data before the next scheduled weekly crawl. There was one 500 reported in the crawl and I can confirm it's still throwing that error, but it's a completely different page. Hope this helps clear things up!

What is happening?  There should be a visible notification on your home page or in Moz pro.  Im about to go into a board meeting raving about Moz but have no analytics to support my request to have a budget to use you guys.  To cap it all my competitive link metrics have disappeared for 2 competitors without reason.  Not happy.

Hi Cornelius, According to Phil Rozek's 2013 post on hidden addresses (http://www.localvisibilitysystem.com/2013/04/22/private-local-citations-where-can-you-list-your-business-but-hide-your-address/), yes, Yelp does permit you to hide your address. I haven't seen any news in the past year indicating that this policy has changed in the interim. I have never seen a study, however, documenting what effect on internal Yelp rankings using a hidden address may have, if any - somebody should totally do one! Hope this helps!

Hi Niclaus, Keri is right on. You'll need to do a full assessment of the client's present status, their competition, their goals and opportunities to determine which actions may benefit them most. This type of assessment will typically go beyond the types of advice you can get from a forum, as it will be the result of some hours of work auditing the client's unique situation and goals. Most national businesses need to implement a combo of organic SEO, social, PPC, etc., but the right recipe for your specific client will be unique to them!

When it comes to any directory, you probably want a nofollow link. It's not technically against the rules to pay for consideration to a directory, but that's usually just code for "pay for a link." Unless this has a high traffic/monetary value to you, it's probably not worth going for.
