Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hey Gordon! Very sorry you are still having issues with 1 page crawls. It looks like the re-direct loop is still in place. Since your campaigns are setup as a root domain when going to http://betamerica.com this re-directs to https://betamerica.com then goes to https://www.betamercia.com The same is occurring for fanex.com You would have to delete both campaigns and set it up as a sub-domain since http:/www.betamerica.com re-directs once to the https site. This should do the trick for the next crawl Please note that deleting these campaigns will remove them from Moz Analytics Beta and cannot be added until we are fully rolled out at the end of the month. Let me know if you have any questions! David Lee Help Team Miniboss

  • Greetings Vadim, Thanks for sparing your valuable time to respond to my query. Having just rewritten our entire web site, using a new directory structure, we do not wish to make any mistakes that will upset SEO. Your answer is very reassuring. So thanks again.

  • The reply to the question is in reference to the 'Keyword Difficulty Tool'. For my own clarification does the statement "...our system automatically assumes whatever you enter as exact match by default." apply to all the MOZ tools, specifically the 'Keyword Ranking Reports'? Searching on Google for the following, phase1tech.com comes up in the positions indicated: CameraLink Cameras (#12) "CameraLink Cameras" (#5) [CameraLink Cameras] (#12) (it is my understanding that you can't do an exact match search on Google) MOZ's 'Keyword Ranking Tool/Report' indicates they are at positions #5. As such I assume the results are based on "exact match". If that is the case I am wondering how many users actually use quotes when performing their searches.

  • Hey Si, That report is there because that URL is ranking for the keyword. The On-Page tool reports on any URL that is ranking for a keyword regardless of how optimized it is for that keyword. I hope that helps. Thanks! Joel.

  • Yea, what I'm thinking I'll do is now that I've got the base of fans just focus more attention on getting them to now 'Like' the URL. Shouldn't be too difficult & will help to increase our 'SEO' worthy likes. Up until now, I just never new there was a difference, so thanks for the insight, huge help!

  • Hello ShearingsGroup, You'll find tools that do that, and many other things, in this 100 Free SEO Tools post here on Moz.com. To answer your question though, I like SEM Rush for this purpose. You can also try SpyFu and several other tools. And here's a recent post on Net Magazine that should be helpful as well.

  • Hey Sauspiel, Thanks for writing in and sorry that your rankings are looking off in the Web App. I'm not sure why you would be getting different results in the Web App rankings than you would be getting when you run the searches yourself; it could be a lot of things. The search engines - Google, Yahoo! & Bing - all maintain multiple indices that run across multiple datacenters. This means if you query different datacenters, you can get somewhat different ranking results. Other elements, such as personalization, geography and search history (even if you're logged out of your Google/search engine account) can also influence ranking positions. Hence, there can be a lot of variation in what different people, searching from different computers/locations might see in the rankings. Our solution has been to run searches from a variety of IP addresses and IP blocks using non-personalized, search history/location agnostic requests. In our experience, these have provided the most accurate results, showing what the "most" users see, though we know there's still quite a bit of room for fluctuation. In the meantime, I can try to see if it's a bug on our side if you can let me know... 1. The campaign that is having this issue 2. The keyword and URL combination that is having discrepancies 3. The ranking that you're getting in Google versus what the Web App tells you. If you prefer to provide this information privately, you can email us at help@moz.com. Chiaryn Help Team Ninja

  • If you have a canonical URLs setup, I don’t think you need to change that! If the thing that you have changed just got like few days then you should wait until the next crawl and if you think it’s been enough time and Moz has already crawled the version after you have made the changes it is a better option to contact their help desk that is help@moz.com Hope this helps!

  • I know this is an insanely old question, but as I was looking it up as well and stumbled on this page I thought I would provide some updated info in case anyone else is looking. The user agent can't be found on the page that is listed anymore. However it is on https://moz.com/help/guides/moz-procedures/what-is-rogerbot Here is how our server reported Rogerbot in its access logs (taken from May 2013). Notice that there is a difference with the crawler-[number] rogerbot/1.0 (http://www.seomoz.org/dp/rogerbot, rogerbot-crawler+pr1-crawler-02@seomoz.org rogerbot/1.0 (http://www.seomoz.org/dp/rogerbot, rogerbot-crawler+pr1-crawler-16@seomoz.org) [updated link added by admin]

  • Hey David, Great question! Unfortunately, there isn't a way to pull this data through Followerwonk. I'm sorry about that! I would recommend submitting a request for this data to our Feature Request forum, but we would only be able to track this information for accounts that are being tracked in Followerwonk already at the time one user starts following the other. So, if someone started following you before you were tracking your Twitter account in Followerwonk, we wouldn't be able to provide when they started following you. Here's the forum we use to collect feature ideas: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-seomoz-pro-feature-requests I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions. • Hey Grumpy Carl, I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. The Q&A questions don't come to the Help Team directly so it can be some time before they get sent over to us. You can always email us directly at help@moz.com for a speedier response. I looked into your account and it looks like you have 5 campaigns, so I wasn't sure which campaign/competitor you were seeing this issue with to look into it directly, but I can explain what is likely to be causing the issue. It looks like most of the competitors you are tracking are set up as a root domain, but we are only able to track competitors at the root domain level. The non-www version of your competitors are what you are tracking in your campaign, but it looks like most of your competitors are ranking under the www subdomain in the search engines. If you add the www subdomain in front of your competitors from your edit campaigns settings tab, you should get some pretty awesome rankings data next time your rankings are pulled. Unfortunately, we aren't able to force an update between the automatic updates. Here is some more info on campaign settings: http://moz.com/help/pro/campaign-setup I hope this clears things up. Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Chiaryn Help Team Ninja
