  • Appreciate that you're trying to help. I gave it a shot but that when I try to add the first step to the head section it tells me that it is not a valid script.

  • Personally, if I can't find a price I hit the back button.  This applies both to things I'm ready to buy right away and to things where a consultation is needed.  For example, when searching for a company to do an animated explainer video for my site I only requested official quotes from companies that listed rough pricing estimates.  And I only submitted my contact information to companies that didn't request a phone number.  I have a fear of getting endless high-pressure sales calls. Does my mentality apply to other people as well?  I don't have stats on it, but probably, at least to people around my age (24).  I want to do things when I want to do them.  Usually that's at 3am. I don't want to call and leave a message and have somebody call me back at 8am when I'm sleeping.  If I've made up my mind to buy something and I'm not allowed to buy it (reminds me of Apple forcing you to wait in line even if you already know what you want) I'll move on to the next vendor.  If I need to get a quote, I want to do so by filling out a form.  I'm also fairly introverted, and would rather not talk on the phone unless I'm in the mood to do so. Additionally, when I have to call for a price I feel like it's going to be like buying a car.  I don't feel like wasting my energy and emotions in a bartering process.  I don't feel like being judged for how much I can probably afford and being charged accordingly. Sorry I don't have any numbers, but that's my gut feeling.

  • Hi Tim, It sounds like you're using CMS. Our site is a CMS. The software provides an automated functionality, but we prefer more control over the products displayed. So we use the software's functionality that allows us to manually enter the product codes that we want displayed. If we want ultimate control, we enter the links to the products we want displayed. There may be an add on that complies with your software. I may be wrong (for your sake I hope I am), but I have a feeling that if you use a CMS and you've asked your provider if they know of a good solution for this and they can't provide it, you're probably stuck doing it manually.

  • Hi kynduvme, You need to alter the GA code for multiple domain tracking.http://gaconfig.com/multiple-domains-with-subdomain/. Best to create a new profile to prevent any data skew. You would then as normal add the goal conversion tracking as normal. Hope this helps, Vahe

  • Yes, you can track revenue to a specific keyword using Google Analytics.  The most thorough way to do this is to implement e-commerce tracking.  Google's documentation for this process is here: http://code.google.com/apis/analytics/docs/tracking/gaTrackingEcommerce.html#Guidelines That allows you to record both the transaction totals and the specific items included in the order.  If that's more info than you need, you can use event tracking to dynamically set a goal value.  To do that, you would just add this line of code on your checkout confirmation page: _gaq.push([``'_trackEvent'``, 'Cart'``, 'Checkout'``, 'Success'``, 40]); Just dynamically insert the cart value (as an integer) where 40 is in the code and that will record a new event in Google Analytics that includes the value of the order. Then, within Google Analytics, set up goal tracking based on the occurrence of an event (Cart Checkout Success).  When you configure the goal, make sure you select "Use the actual Event Value" for the "Goal Value" option.

  • Thanks for the response Everett. I'm definitely not looking to game the system with empty or fake reviews, that wouldn't be an issue with what I'm working on. It sounds like your rant you described could fall into what I'm thinking about. With everything else being equal but Page A has review functionality while Page B doesn't, does Page A rank better on that sole difference. One might think so, but like you said, once reviews start rolling in on Page A the weight would definitely (well, at least most likely) swing it's way. Nate

  • I own a few generic .me domains, they do not have the same level of authority that a .com domain holds but it also depends what type of business you are running. If it is a social site a .me domain may work for example.. look at formspring.me a huge social site or about.me...

  • I don't know if I would agree with the point that people using it would also be against clicking through paid links. I use it and am not adverse to paid links in any shape or form. To be honest I wouldn't even see them as spam. My using of it was for ad's popping up on videos, etc. Intrusive adverts. I would like to think I know my way around a computer, but if I didn't even realise it will block the paid ads then I wouldn't even think of 'allowing' it. You would have to know that to notice and allow! I take the point though, I just find it curious that it would even class sponsored links as an Ad to block. They aren't an inconvenience.

  • Valery's idea sounds better for you. Rather than ratings, get testimonials and make them rank by adding a link to the testimonials page from the front page of the site, get it into some bookmark sites, add a facebook Like button, maybe a G+ button and get links from a few other relevant places. Be sure to set up the page title, description and content correctly. The best part of this solution is that it is much easier to get set up and working - you probably already have some good testimonials, and if you don't, then use Steve's idea of following up and asking for a testimonial. If you have a free report to offer them, that will be good, otherwise, just ask for their help.

I attached 2 videos of what we are looking for and sort of explaining where we are at. Thanks In advance. trackingsources1.swf trackingsources2.swf

  • I've only found one other question in Q&A that mentions Treepodia, from someone who has used it before. You might contact the author of http://www.seomoz.org/q/video-seo-youtube-vs-3rd-party-hosting-with-video-sitemap to see how it worked for them.

  • Thanks this helps me a lot! I am just going to go ahead and try to build the site as an informative website on the subject. Put some adsense up and see how it goes.
