Share buttons or Follow buttons
Hey Andy, Good question. To answer we need to consider your intent for having a share or follow button. Shares helps attract new users, follow helps retain previous visitors. Do you have a site that is likely to get repeat visitors? You also mentioned the share button is on the thank you page. It's highly likely this is accessed by posting some type of form, so it could be tricky for others to see what the original sharer saw. I'd use the thank you page to retain visitors with follow buttons and add share buttons to useful content to attract new users. As far as the value of the links of shares goes, you get little value from Twitter & Facebook. However it's fair to say in the not to distant future social signals from Google Plus will play a significant factor in SEO rankings. Hope that helps. Iain - Reload Media

Very interesting test on social signals, thoughts?
Of course, Google will be adding more weight on Google Plus because it is their products and they have got all the data. Tweets and Facebook likes also help gaining more online exposure but what I believe is that social signal is important but it is not as powerful as links. Google, just like any other search engines depends heavily on links. Social signals are important but they cannot override the importance of links. Moreover, the sample size of the test is small and therefore, a definite conclusion is hard to draw from this.

Is a Tumblr company blog good for SEO?
Tumblr is a bit controversial in the world of business blogging. Some people swear by it, and others say it is a waste of time – it doesn’t have the SEO capabilities or the customizability of the other two platforms, that’s for sure. If your target market is over the age of 35 , or if your business sells something that isn’t very visual, then Tumblr probably won’t fit your needs. But if you are in an industry or run a business that can use Tumblr to share images and quick updates, then you really should consider it despite its drawbacks. My business doesn’t use Tumblr because we are a document filing service – how many cool, viral images can you imagine coming out of that? But Tumblr is great if your product is visual and you are willing to spend the time to talk to and engage with your customers. Remember that Tumblr users are very reciprocal - that means it is up to you to go through posts, comment, and like if you ever expect to attract people over to your business’s page. It’s also very easy to use, and a bit addictive, so once you get going you’ll likely find yourself spending a lot of time on the site. Just remember to get a custom domain for your business’s Tumblr and link to your blog on your homepage. I hope this information will help you, Good luck

How to Increase +1s for Google plus? Any Ideas ?
IMO, you can do everything including prayer and not get Google+ action. Most people have no idea what it is. SEOs and Google employees are the only people who care about Google+ They will abandon it soon. Spend your valuable time on other work.

Is this link a follow or no follow one? Is it worth it to pay to be listed? http://westfaironline.com/businessdirectory/john-meyer-consulting/
Hi Diane, First of all, to easily see followed/nofollowed links I suggest you download a tool like the MozBar. It's available for both Chrome and FF - http://www.seomoz.org/seo-toolbar. Only takes a second and it's very helpful! (There's other tools out there also). Secondly, this is a followed link Thirdly, the domain is of pretty high authority. However, buying links from directories is a less practised (and recommended) approach to SEO. If the directory is in your niche and is relevant to your site, go ahead (if the costs are within reason). If you're interested in purchasing directory links I'd only invest in the really top quality directories such as BOTW and business.com. For a full list of directories, SEOmoz has their own recommendations - http://www.seomoz.org/directories. Again, only list your site on there if it's relevant and adds worth. I suggest start with just a few niche directories. Thanks, Brad

What is the most effective way to keep spam out of twitter
Do you mean preventing your account from being hijacked? - Have a strong password. Maybe enable geolocation (in case account gets hijacked, can use it as evidence). Not sure how else phishing/spamming fits in with twitter.

Buzz Bundle by www.link-assistant.com
Guys I would like to ask you to slow down a bit here Everything that you mentioned indeed looks and feels like a spam. But I can't stress enough - software by it self newer is a spam....human behind it is! Everything depends how you as a person will use it. Software just gives you flexibility to do whatever you like in one platform that could be very convenient! (I am not sales person for them) As you all know that reputation management via social networks is very actual topic now and convenient management of all of those networks is something that I personally was looking to have. Buzz Bundle is in early developer stage at the moment and needless to say it's working quite bad. But I see tremendous potential there as idea, convenience of the use, brand management etc. is something that is taking most of my time. This platform will give you a chance to monitor all channels in one place and this is huge time saver. As far 100 profiles goes - of course it is silly to do it as there will be records from your IP addresses and Google will quickly catch you. But I'm sure you all know what does proxies means Anyway, sooner or later Goggle will catch you again even with them as you will not be able to normally manage and gain authority from those other profiles. So, the 'likes' will be only considered as a count! And sooner or later algo of the Social Media channels will do exactly what Google does - devalues 'count' and glorifies authority! You have my very best and sneaky regards, Jungles

Facebook Resources Requests
thanks Francisco. I suspected that I did not have control over this but wanted a second input. Also, the plugin referenced is great but it interferes with the caching my host already does so I cannot use it

Has anyone else noticed a dramatic drop in Facebook post impressions?
I have heard others complain of drops after starting ads to promote posts but i have never seen any data to support it.

Google Autor Profiles in Big Companies
Maybe I'am wrong, but I've never seen snippets with a company logo in each blog posting so far.

Twitter based competition
Well "social indicators", as they've been dubbed, are a ranking factor in both Google and Bing, although just one factor out of 200+. Legitimate accounts tweeting links to a site would definitely be a positive signal. It would also hopefully provide you with some legitimate inbound marketing benefits by giving you access to new audiences.

Should OG tags be used on a websites homepage?
Sam and Thompson, Thanks for your replies! I will say I was thrown for a loop about the tags adding a button ... I couldn't envision how that would work! So for a primarily ecommerce site would you recommend using: for the every page that doesn't fall into one of the other defined facebook types or should I create custom types? FYI, our cart uses the following on product pages: A type of "product" seems appropriate but it isn't listed in the defined facebook types so I'm not sure it's being used correctly on these pages. Any thoughts? Again thanks!!!

Are Facebook page updates indexed in Google search?
Yes for sure. I have tried posting articles into my facebook page and it was indexed. Not to mentioned the number of fans are shown up almost live on Google searches
