Recently google dropped our site a big time. Can some body tell me if my site is spammy. Our visibility was 67% and one of our top competitor had the visibility of 72%.
When I crawl my site as a root domain, I get more errors is my campaign than when I set my site as a sub domain.
Which one is the correct way: root domain or subdomain. My site is www.aa-rental.com
My URL is: aa-rental.com
I lost all of my ranking in google organic since Sept. 26th. I have resubmitted the site to google. But the site is indexing very slow. It has crawled 125/400 pages and it is just not crawling any more pages since two weeks ago.
My server actually supports both upper and lower cases. IT is not google webmaster that is giving me this error, they are coming from seomoz crawler.
Do you think fetching both upper and lower cases will fix the issue in google webmaster.?
Google is using these two urls as totally different.
http://www.aa-rental.com/Audio_rental.asp
http://www.aa-rental.com/Audio_Rental.asp
Can fetching both in google webmaster will take care of the problem?
Also these are coming from an external link.
I set no preference, will it matter?
Right now I submitted both versions in the webmaster. But preferred non www.
How can I differentiate
http://aa-rental.com/Audio Recorders.asp?cat=28
from
http://www.aa-rental.com/Audio Recorders.asp?cat=28
For some reasons crawl is understanding them as two different pages. Help will be very much appreciated.
Thanks for the reply.
I didn't receive any kind of unnatural link notice from google. The only thing I found was in my webmaster googlebot was not able to access the robots.txt file for several days. Could this be the problem?
Does anybody know how to find bad links and remove them easily.
Im running this site since 2003. Yes, I do see lots of my competitors dont have "-" in it. How can I verify that this Google update also penalized "-" in this version.
Personally, I think, this cant be the case as content is the most important (technically). Everything else is secondary.
Site is nowhere to be found is Google.com SERPs. Doesnt Panda downgrade some of the keywords like from page 1 to, lets say, page 4 etc. In my case none of the keywords are any where in google. I even checked them in 1000s.
Is there a concrete test that can tell me Im a "Victim" of Panda.
I know I was working with a few folks in India for SEO.
Actually my site is aa-rental.com (withoout ans "s".
My all keywords are from first page are gone to nowhere to be found. The site domain is aa-rental.com. Help will be appreciated. It happened last weekend around 09/28/12. The site is still indexed. info:aa-rental.com deliver results. Here is what Noticed. In Google web master I had:
1 soft error
1 access denied error for robot.txt. (site was 100% not accessible by googlebot).
25 of 404 errors.
Optimization:
I was doing optimization but under careful watch making sure content was unique and follows google guidelines. I also gave my webdeveloper to make the structured data and more organized site. He is still working on the site but on a different server. He also asked for user ID and pass for my existing site which I gave him. Can he do something different (inadvertently) on the server where my site is located? What could it be?
Thanks for all help in advance.
Here is more info and my site is aa-rental.com
Since last Friday (09/28/12) all of my keyword ranking is gone. I checked the webmaster and found, among the others, one error:
"access denied"
"1 error found"
when I mouse over this error itt says:
"server requires login or is blocking googlebot"
Im trying to see if this thing has to do with the sudden drop of ranking? I have other sites on the webmaster and none of them is showing this type of error. And they are ranking fine.
Also when I check individual urls they are there (indexed).
Another thing, robots.txt is configured like this since from day 1:
User-agent: *
Allow: /
Is this the correct format?

It is not seasonal. I have seen keywords going up/down but this time they are gone from first 500. This never happened to my site ever before. We are in businesss since 1996.

One thing, for sure, I know I didnt change any robot.txt. It has always been like this:
User-agent: *
Allow: /
Is this the correct format.
