There are two solutions, one which is canoncialisation pointing to the correct location, the other (which i prefer for this kind of thing) is to implement 301 redirects from the shorter url.

I think that is ideal because you are saying it's easier to tell people to go to that location, thats fine and great, but we want search to hit the real page - so therefore the second / landing page doesn't need to exist ... just redirect it and avoid confusion.

We have a number of sites that rank well on Big G but not on Bing - it seems to be an issue around search lag from our experience. We could be wrong but we've had sites who ranked in top 2 or 3 for a term on G and 6 months later it was top 5 for bing when previously it had been no where, its just possible bing is slow?

Make a file with that name without the extension and put a 301 redirect onto it. So you will have a live file there to redirect.

The short and long of it is that Google seems to find your homepage more relevant than the page you linked. Maybe that's through keywords and content. Also the second page you want to rank for, the URL is very strange with the catlist at the end.

Is it a page that is standalone and static or is it a page that just grabs all the products in the list and puts them together in a template page? (if that makes sense)

it's possible that GA, being as it is, doesn't give whole information and is aggregate info - for example if you look on GWT about what your website keywords are it talks about variants of words and not exact words. It is possible therefore it does the same in GA and one of the "like" keyterms does rank at 3 or 4... it's also possible that the data is upto 90 days out of date on GA. Both of these can and do effect both Moz and GA

cost to benefit ratio is hard to really give you a good answer, benefits are given above the cost depends on the platform you use and also where the site is hosted. For instance changing urls on wordpress or drupal is fairly easy and relatively cheap, compared to say a bespoke system which may have various issues around url changing (i've seen many sites break due to url updates not being done correctly).

Google described it as "turning down" how much EMDs matter. So although they probably do have a LITTLE bit of bearing, its nothing huge, if you have a brand name use that, if your brand name is close to the EMD then that should be fine. Just don't expect an EMD to help you massively when it comes to ranking like they used to do.

i believe they hold little real SEO value, but are memorable and can be used to help navigate around the website. This said breadcrumbs would work just as well and good categorisation

Yeah Google only works with 1:1 so maybe if you setup a Google account shared by both users and markup using that profile is the only work around I could think of, but could be messy.

do the above, if you also want to get rid of the "related videos" afterwards on the embed url add

?rel=0 to the end

Basically a 301 redirect is the best option, if you are literally moving a whole domain and the urls will stay the same (save for the domain name) you can use the below

Thats assuming you are running apache.

you can point example.com to any directory you wish...

and they should be on seperate lines, not sure why moz changes that

If you are targetting seperate anchor texts and titles and totally different content it shouldnt be a problem. The only issue sometimes is that with the huge influx of links you get in a short space of time, it might give Google an indication that something 'unnatural' is going on. If you space them out I don't see why there would be an issue.

in terms of categories, they are more reference points than definite areas, that is why you can actually input anything you want into there. so yes taxi is a go-er

the difference between the two is that one dictates you saying "we serve within 5 miles radius" it includes every city and town in that area... the second says we only serve this town or city ... (state country etc). the radius is more for local businesses and locations for companies who have multiple offices or shops.

it's a little tricky to answer the question for a few reasons - but first there is a the question of could you not buy the .com and target both from the one site - and avoid this issue?

Other than that it maybe worth considering some mixing and twisting of content in someways as well as using rel=can - Google doesn't always see dupe product descriptions across sites as dupe content, if they did no page with a manufacturers description would rank - this translates to "if you can write your own great! if you can rewrite a bit or twist it - ok ... if you can't don't loose sleep and optimise elsewhere like hell!"

On all pages you should be validated as the publisher (assuming it's your site). and then within each post you are the author.

Tools like Yoast SEO Plugin are great at this kind of thing, as long as you are the sole contributor. Otherwise just add a link to G+ in each bio on a post ending ?rel=author - jobs a good en

In addition to those 301 rules stick this in your htacess file

DirectoryIndex index.php index.html site-down.php

it tells the browser and bots which page is the default for your folders and root.

Also ensure your non-www forward to www. using this code
