Moz can't actually read the canonicals and be sure they are set right as they depend on what do you want to be indexed. I can recall this question asked several times before, Moz support responded: "We prefer to provide data that takes the tack of "rather be safe then sorry" and report on the issues to the highest degree of error that we have seen Google penalize a site for so it is sometimes true that they are not as strict as our tools. It isn't a bug in our system that shows these errors; it is just that we have decided to show errors that Google may consider at their strictest level of penalization." EDIT: I am sure Magento has some extension to manage those urls and allow you to set the products url right so they don't include any of cat-a, featured, detail, etc. Like Wordpress has SEO by Yoast, there's "ultimate SEO suite" for magento.

I've never seen one, Andy. I don't think Bing publishes specific algo updates the way Google does. I'm totally with you on getting away from being so Google-centric. So many businesses' complete reliance on Google (between organic and Adwords) is a massive risk, in my opinion. It's one of the reasons I push so many clients to put serious effort into building email subscribers in owned lists (as opposed to FeedBurner - more Google). At least those potential customers will be reachable regardless of what Google pulls. Paul

I work at a development company and we have our own bespoke CMS system. We just want a star feature really, so we can hook up rich snippets. If there is a plugin that doesnt cost much that would be great, getting one of our developers to do it here would cost the client more than they are currently willing to pay.

Yes, we fixed though problems. It was due to how our CMS handles finding pages in the Web Config. It was setup to reply basically that it looked for the page and nothing came back, rather than 404'ing. That's fixed now

Just a couple of questions.... What work have you done with these clients to understand their business and determine where their products and services should be visible in search? Perhaps they need a marketing plan before linkbuilding? Also, for each query where they hope to be visible they will need a page of attractive, informative, and compelling content.  Perhaps they need content development so that each built link will hit a page that effectively promotes their business? The above might be part of the linkbuilding proposal.  It will help educate them and identify the targets and content needed for the linkbuilding to be successful.
