Some browsers might hide the www and htttp part from the url . Just to make sure pop your sites url in there ( http://www.webconfs.com/http-header-check.php ) and see if there is a redirect.

Rel canonical : does NOT redirect the pages .. its just there for search engine bots. Think of it this way

You would want to use rel canonical where you need to show the duplicate pages for users .. eg : on a shopping website sort by A-Z , by Price , Z-A, etc could all display the same things in different order BUT users benefits from having those so use a rel canonical there to tell the spider its all the same version of your " original page " . There is no redirects here users can see all the multiple versions of the page. If they are redirected what is the use of sorting those results ?

I would also like to know why OSE does that ( some one from the staff could possibly answer that )

You should only allow one version it can either be non WWW or WWW. In your case stick with the one that has more authority and do a 301 redirect for the other one.

In regards to your question : Why am I getting two different domain authority and backlink counts ?

For Google  www.yoursite.com and yoursite.com are 2 different sites on the same domain.

It depends on what you want out of it ? Do you have a new product / service and want to create buzz for it ? Then if you go with the right right press release package .. you might catch some journalists attention who might approach you for a story .

Pro Tips : Target Local Outlets , make sure the press release goes out at a time when people usually reads the news.

If you are after backlinks .. most outlets might no follow the links , have a text version of the press release out AND the press release is usually posted in its own section .. go through some of the older post and see what kind of Page Authority ( not Doamin Authority ) those pages have . Not much I would bet.

.. I follow a simple rule when it comes to link .. the harder to get the link the more valuable it usually is .

Pro Tip : The easiest quality backlink you can usually get is a well written blog post on blogs that accept guest posts. ( try to find something in your niche try searching for

• “guest post” + keyword
• "guest author" + keyword
• "write for us" + keyword
• etc

301 with "follow" ? I don't think I have heard that one before. AFAIK 301 pass link juice .. there is no way to set follow.

Ideally it would be individual pages for those cities with unique content. I would include the content to talk a bit about those suburbs + what you guys offer in those suburbs.

You have not provided enough data to give any specific advice ( what niche, links to competitors to see what they are doing ,etc )  but

• if you are going after local I would have individual product pages targeting those location with Unique Content ( depending on the niche you could target Video, Map and other elements ) .
• Cross ink internal pages those are relevant
• Build quality links ( IF you competitors are doing it right , analize their site and try to get links from their sources )

When you have a new product and no likes .. having a couple of hundred likes on your page might encourage others to like it as well. BUT would I advice getting it ? NO

• These users dont care about your product and will likely not share a single post
• They are most likely not real people , and facebook will most likely delete such profile over time ( when this happens .. some people who like you for your product and fan your page sees the sudden drop from 1000s of Fan to a couple of reals one they might thing you guys have lost a lost of real fans and might be inclined to un-friend ( a word I learned because of facebook ) you )
• Facebook Bans you ? Is it really worth it

I would use canonical where you need the 3 duplicate pages for users ( In this case that is not the case ) .. eg : on a shopping website sort by A-Z , by Price , Z-A, etc could all display the same things in different order BUT users benefits from having those so use a rel canonical there.

In your case there is no real need for the 3 separate pages , so I would use .htaccess and do a permanent redirect to http://www.davidclick.com/

My Theory is

• they rank organically for that keyword and
• they also have a map listing for that keyword search.

So Google combines them in to one  .

If you have 301ed it I would not worry about the .net dupes

With pagination if you have correctly implemented rel="next" and rel="prev" , you should be fine . But one issue I have seen with my clients is that , eCommerce sites usually have multiple ways to sort pages

• higest price
• lowest price
• a-z
• z-a
• etc

all these are duplicate content if you have not  used rel="Canonical" .  Hope this helps you out

To make navigations easier you could use breadcrumbs. So when the result show up in SERPS you can get

Home > Category >  Post

and the breadcrumbs should also be prominently displayed on the site.  I believe it heps spiders and users alike in figuring out the contents structure on your site.

In regards to the proposed structure .. is the category a keyword you would like to target on those pages ? For example if you have Home/Melbourne/CafeHome/Melbourne/MoviesIt would make sense to include Melbourne in there if you are targeting that location .But for something likeHome/News/Keyword-Post-Title Home/News/Keyword-Post-Title2Where your keywords are formed in the post title rather than the category , I would leave it out.One other thing to consider is when changing the structure , you should follow the best practices and make sure you redirect the old ones to the new ones . I will not say it's of no value at all ... it probably has some value to it but if you are link building that is probably not the way to push forward in the future .  Try looking in to Content Marketing and work towards pushing out quality -sharable content ( I know it's easier said than done , but there a re some nice beginners guide on the blog here to get you started on it.. ). Main thing to do is consider if you want the video to rank ? or your page with the video to rank ?

having it on youtube means ( in most cases )  the video content on youtube will rank in serp over the content on your site . But if you have it on your server you can tag it properly to let the video snippet show up for your page in the serp.( which could increase the CTR )
