Why not change the file name to 'red-for-truck.jpg'? That would probably have a more positive effect. Much of what dictates image optimization is the same as on page factors, as described here: http://moz.com/blog/is-optimizing-photos-more-important-than-you-think. (On page factors: http://moz.com/learn/seo/on-page-factors) Plus Google has its own guide for image sitemaps here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/178636. Cheers!

RE: How To Show Up In The Local Organic Search Results?
Hi Chase. There's a lot that goes into this, but mostly Google is inferring that a user is making a local search based on an educated guess of user intent and by knowing their local identification factors: IP address, Google location setting, etc when showing them these types of local results. In effect, to some degree it's like they typed in the city name with their search.
You'd still want to address as many of the local ranking factors as applicable with each business in order to generate signals that the business should be ranking for local searches. Miriam goes into great detail on tactics here: http://moz.com/blog/mastering-serving-the-user-as-centroid, and the Moz help center has excellent resources as well: http://moz.com/learn/local/optimizing-your-website. Having a Google+ Local page would be very helpful. Cheers!

RE: Moz Local doesn't have Categories for my clients business
Hi Kathrine. You can find a searchable list of relevant categories for Google Local at: http://blumenthals.com/google-lbc-categories/search.php?q=&val=hl-gl%3Den-US(PfB)%26ottype%3D1 and here are a few possibilities:
- Crane Rental Agency - https://moz.com/local/categories/category/Crane Rental Agency
- Packaging Supply Store - https://moz.com/local/categories/category/Packaging Supply Store
- Shipping Company - https://moz.com/local/categories/category/Shipping Company
Within those Moz Local links you'll see how they relate to the categories on various other sites. Agreed that there's not a perfect fit at this time for what you're describing, but at least these should get you close. Also, there are people here that work directly with Google Local so this might get addressed in an upcoming update. Cheers!

RE: Video Marketing - Who will host them
Hi Jac. You have a few applicable things going on here, but here are some posts to help point you in the right direction.
- http://moz.com/blog/building-a-video-seo-strategy - A good read regarding how you might structure your goals with video.
- http://moz.com/blog/hosting-and-embedding-for-video-seo - Looking at the questions of hosting a video, versus using a service and embedding.
- http://moz.com/blog/youtube-ranking-factors-whiteboard-friday - Youtube ranking factors. Help regarding how to get views outside of the context of your own site.
These should give you a really good idea on what will work best for you. Cheers!

RE: Rank tracker question
Hi Sandi. If you put these keywords into a Moz Analytics campaign they will display a full history as well as a change column from current and previous. Cheers!

RE: Rank 1st Page on Bing & Yahoo Though Struggle with Google
Hi Joseph. This will probably be the quickest way for you to gain links.
- Go to the OSE Link Opportunities Tab: https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/opportunities/link-intersect?site=fillinyoursite.com
- At top, add your site, in the the tab "Link Intersect" add competitors.
- Look at ways to acquire links where your competition has them, but you do not.
This varies quite a bit, sometimes you're emailing someone, sometimes it's a relationship over social, sometimes PR, and so on.

RE: How important is my code to text ratio on web pages?
There's a discussion on cache expiration here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6486805/html-cache-control-max-age, but you'll want someone knowledgeable in these recommendations making changes.
-
RE: How important is my code to text ratio on web pages?
The biggest issue is with how this affects your load speed. Plug in your site here to see: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/
Sites in the red often have trouble ranking well.

RE: Should I be using meta robots tags on thank you pages with little content?
In general it's a best practice to noindex the thank you pages as people landing on them from outside of your conversion funnel will trigger false goal completions. No following them is fine as well since they're a low value content wise, but ideally you want to make them as hard to stumble upon as possible. It's a good idea to remove them from the sitemap too if they've propagated there. Cheers!

RE: How do I link different Twitter accounts to different campaigns?
I think what might be going on is that you're logged in to the overall twitter account in the same browser as you are logged into Moz, so when you click the link + Connect Another Twitter Account you're actually connecting to the general account. Note how you go to twitter to do this step, so you're outside of Moz. You'll want to log out of Twitter general, login to the specific account you want to add, and then click the link from within Moz. Cheers!

RE: Google Knowledge Graph Tool
None that I know of. This might be a good candidate for a Mechanical Turk task: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome
It'd definitely be a value add from a ranking tool. Currently though when I'm reporting on search rankings that integrate Knowledge Graph I also show where rankings are client adjacent, so a site ranking for a given term that's not the client but the client is mentioned and accessible from that ranking site.

RE: From HTTP to HTTPS
That Stack Overflow discussion goes into getting Google Tag Manager up and running. It's best to clean up URLs to get as many as possible pointing to HTTPS. That way you're not making unnecessary redirection hops with things you can control. Cheers!

RE: Does mobile usability issues reduce your ranking in desktop search results?
Here's one example: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-mobile-seo-desktop-18271.html
Really though, you should get your site both mobile and desktop friendly as possible.
-
RE: Does mobile usability issues reduce your ranking in desktop search results?
The general consensus is that no they shouldn't affect desktop rankings, but the move towards making sure your site has mobile usability is one that should take place regardless because Google is definitely emphasizing it.

RE: Google Mobile Update
Hi Chenzo. You'll know for certain if you plug this site into Google Webmaster Tools, or run it through their pagespeed test and view the report under mobile and usability. Go here to try it out: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/. (The answer... 100 / 100 User Experience Congratulations! No issues found.)

RE: From HTTP to HTTPS
Right. If you want the HTTPS from the start you'll need to redirect to it. There's a few nice discussion around how over at Stack Overflow, here's one such example: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13977851/htaccess-redirect-to-https-www. The code you use may vary depending on what you want to achieve.

RE: Rank 1st Page on Bing & Yahoo Though Struggle with Google
Hi Joseph. Try comparing your backlink profile to some of the larger competitors that Google is ranking ahead of you in Open Site Explorer. That will give you an idea around the strengths Google is measuring that could be giving those sites higher rankings.
Also check out: http://moz.com/search-ranking-factors to get an idea of how the numbers in OSE are broken down. Being in the ticket business you'll want to compare against a couple of the large ones like Stubhub and Ticket Master. Cheers!

RE: Business in one location, be found in others?
Hi Harry. To rank for those other cities you'll want content around them as well, but is the product area specific? Maybe if it's a car dealership or larger purchase you could do a few things like add service area to their local listing based on where they'll do pick up and drop off for repairs; or if an appliance type of business, installation based service areas. If you're a bit more specific with your example people here could come up with more precise ideas.

RE: Manual Links Vs. Smart Links
I would be pretty strict on using tools like these myself as you'd want to make sure you avoid creating pages that are too link heavy and begin to get a spammy feel to them. In some cases it could be quite handy though if you're trying to link up older pages that have very specific product names that would point to specific product pages. Like many tools, it can be used poorly or well.

RE: Membership/subscriber (/customer) only content and SEO best practice
I'd say it's mostly transferable as plenty of content is found in both news and the main index. News is more of a service overlay that attempts to better handle user expectations for frequency and speed of response when it comes to news items. Still, old news gets into the index and treated like content from most any site so if you have a subscription based model that aligns with what they're recommending for more news orientated sites, at least you're fitting into a form of what they outline.
