Images are in the regular sitemap and yes, the links point to the direct source not to the page they are on.

GWT Images Indexing
Hi guys!
How does normally take to get Google to index the images within the sitemap?
I recently submitted a new, up to date sitemap and most of the pages have been indexed already, but no images have.
Any reason for that?
Cheers

Hello Tom,
The keyword snatcher looks pretty good, but does it work well in UK?

RE: Keyword Analysis
Hello there,
You said: "find out a list of the top keywords for my site automatically"
You can have a look into Google Webmaster Tools and see which keyword has brought people to your site or have a look on Analytics reports if that is what you want to find out!
Hope it helps

Sitemap Issue - vol 2
Hello everyone!
I validated the sitemap with different tools (w3Schools, and so on..) and no errors were found. So I uploaded into my site, tested it through GWT and BANG! all of a sudden there is a parsing error, which correspond to the last, and I mean last piece of code of thousand of lines, .
I don't know why it isn't reading the code and it's giving me this as there are no other errors and I haven't got a clue about what to do in order to fix it!
Thanks

Google+
Hello everyone,
just a quick question about Google+; I had already a Google+ business page and I tried to link it with Google Places but instead of doing so, it created another page.
So now I have two Google+ pages, one all set up with all the circles, images and everything else, plus another one (the new one) with nothing but the link to Google Places.
Is there any chance to merge them both?
Cheers

RE: Multiple Sitemaps
Thanks a lot guys!
I really appreciated your help, although all this information made me realize I have tons of work to do to update the sitemaps and I have to start creating new ones.
Just another question, after I create the new sitemaps I will also have to update the sitemap on the website, is that right?

RE: Multiple Sitemaps
Oh I see, thank you very much for your help, I haven't got much experience dealing with sitemaps.
So in order to put them in the robots.txt I will just have to put the link in it without anything else, is that right?

RE: Multiple Sitemaps
Why should I put the sitemaps in the robots.txt?
I ve been looking around and some sites do and some don't, what's the reason for it?

Multiple Sitemaps
Hello everyone!
I am in the process of updating the sitemap of an ecommerce website and I was thinking to upload three different sitemaps for different part (general/categories and subcategories/productgroups and products) of the site in order to keep them easy to update in the future.
Am I allowed to do so? would that be a good idea?
Open to suggestion

RE: Why does GWT still show some links from a disavowed domain?
GWT does take time to update its data. Use OPE and see if those links still appear on your back links profile

RE: Tips for quick SEO
Your impression is right.Think about it in this way, Google wants to provide the best experience to its customer when they look for something online. If your site hasn't got any issues (technical issues), could be easily indexed by robots, has good original content and most important helps answering customers' queries, you get a step closer to the first page. Indeed link building (or earning), social media, local and whatnot do have a crucial role to improve your site authority, but without a "search engine/visitor friendly" website, all your effort won't be worth as much.
Good luck

RE: Tips for quick SEO
I would starte with a SEO Audit in order to discover if there are any technical issues with the site (I would use screaming frog/webmaster tools/moz crawl diagnostic). If so I would start fixing these issues first and them move on to On-Page optimization/Content.
Let's say your ecommerce site has 1000 pages, I would focus weekly on 25 pages, creating well written product descriptions, optimized content and so on.
These task should leave you with a well optimized and search engine/customer friendly website which will help you move on to more time consuming and complex SEO tasks
Hope it helps!

RE: Sudden drop in conversions!
Hello there,
"Is it possible that you lose conversions because of the type of keywords that are driving traffic?"
Yes it is. Every keyword falls into the buying funnel, more specifically into a section of it. It starts with awareness (usually) and ends with purchase (or any other action you want your visitor to take on the site).
In line with your objectives, you should target the right keywords.
Usually the first steps of the buying funnel do not involve conversions and if your keywords fall into those section you might have to change the keywords your targeting.
For example, let's say you sell laptop:
if you target black laptop you know that this keyword won't give you a high number of conversion as the keyword is too general and the traffic you get might just be made of people looking for laptop but have no intention to buy one. But the more you refine it the more specific it gets, and the more conversion you should get, so if you target a keyword such as **buy 15inch black laptop hp **(or whatever it might be) you will get more targeted traffic more likely to buy your products.
In case your objective was to build awareness, general keywords such as black laptop would have been a good keyword.
What I'd suggest is to review your objectives and align the keywords you target with them.
Hope it helps.

RE: Integrate a blog within an existing site
The website, an e-commerce site, uses a custom built CMS with no blog modules so I have to create it and I thought would be easier to implement a wordpress blog.
@Chris thanks for sharing those posts, I will look into it. Also I will have to talk to the developer of the site and see also if wordpress could actually fit the CMS.

Integrate a blog within an existing site
Hello everyone!
I work on a website of a very small company and so far no one has ever implemented (not even thought about) a proper content strategy. The only content on the site are products description.
Through Analytics I discovered lots of opportunities and topics to be covered which would massively increase the traffic, increase the engagement and (hopefully) sales.
Problem is that I don't really know how to integrate a blog into the existing site; my first thought was wordpress
What is the best way to do it?
