I've just added amended ht access file as suggested and i get:

"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

Just to re-iterate i did add this line:
redirect 301 /index.htm http://www.davidclick.com & the whole site wouldnt display (Ive since removed it)

I'm confused. me thinks I'll contact 123 reg

I know  a site i'm working on has two versions of  the home page e.g.
http://www.davidclick.com & http://www.davidclick.com/index.htm

This morning I delved into the bowels of the ht access file and this is what happened...

Firstly i added redirect 301 /index.htm http://www.davidclick.com nope that broke everything I then amended to redirect 301 /index http://www.davidclick.com

Can anyone re assure me ive done the right thing in terms of resolveing my home page canonical problem?

I would like to replicate this but I would like to know if any SEOMOZ member could recommend a tool that can monistor sentiments eg positive & negative commments about a brand across different social  media platforms.

I also wonder how these packages measure negativity, do they just scan word negative words?

Having ran a screaming from report for www.davidclick.com the tool diagnosed there was two versions of the home page and here are the 2 urls for the home page:

www.davidclick.com
www.davidclick.com/index.htm

I leaped into action and added this line of code into the head section of www.davidclick.com/index.htm and hers it is:http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/canonical-code.jpg

But why when i run a screaming frog report its still telling me there are two versions of thye home page.

Any insights welcome

I want to track sentiments ie mentions, slurs fliratations of a brand on Facebook. So to start out with I thought 'Id hook up SEO moz social tracking service as illustrated here:

But whilst i could add my twitter account I caount not add my favebook page:http://www.facebook.com/david.honan.98I added david.honan.98 in the url box and a number of other versions but none successfully hooked up. Am enetering the wrong url or is SEO moz socail media facebook plugin jinxed?

As i sat on my grassy knoll puffing on a pipe overlooking the English country Land I wondered... just how do you measure the volume of users using hash tag twitter groups.... or put another way imagine you say to a client "Ok one idea is to get this friday meal deal promoted on #FF"

The client then says...

"So how many twitter users use the #FF"

It a blunt but legit question & one I couldnt answer right now. So my question is please...

"Is there a tool to measure frequency of use with regards to twitter hash tag groups"

So my question is please - "Does this page  http://www.goldsboroughestates.co.uk/how-we-care-for-you/right-to-manage/ have a caninical error or is screaming frog useless?

And whilst in the past site speed was something that would get my attention nowadays I dont take so much notrice but a competitors technical audit was heavy on site speed which made me wonder...

"what is an acceptable download time for a page" and "whats a good tool to measure page download time"
