Reciprical Link Building or one way traffic?

Good  morning from 8 degrees c but very sunny wetherby UK

Regarding link acquisition ive had it in my head that the best idea is to secure inbound

links only i.e avoid reciprocal link building so that when your source links to you you

dont give them a link back.

But is this no longer valid when targeting inbound links to increase rank? Is it ok to link back or will that "leak SEO juice" or whatever we decide to call it this week.

Ive been holding on to the mantra of one h1 tag per page but a developer has challenged me on this by stating you can have multiple h1 tags on the condition the page is HTML 5 & each h1 tag is within its own section or article tag.

So the question is do i need to change my tune?

Here is todays musing...

When you enter a term in Google it predicts what your trying to enter but I wonder what is influencing the order of the phrases.

For example when you enter cms website the terms it autofills are not alpahabetical

eg:

cms website
cms website templates
cms website design

So my question is please: "Is this a volume thing in that Geoogle works out whats in demand via ppc ads and then ranks them acccordingly"?

Ive noticed when you enter "York solicitors" some listings have + Show map symbol. Hers is a screen shot to illustrate:

Ok Imagine a clients website has 4 conferences across the UK every year and wants to advertise this in the SERPS. Could microformat hCards help do this?

Specifically I want to achieve what the MEN achieves in its serps eg:

Am i right in thinking that the only way to get images appearing like this in your serps:

is to be hooked up to Google Merchant? Which kind of means if the sight your working on has no images then this type of enhancement is out of bounds?

Ive got a 70% bounce rate on this home page - http://www.goldsboroughestates.co.uk/Home.aspx

Whilst their is a telephone number on the home page it feels too high. Ive drilled down and identified the following:

1. Medium (NONE)  is causing 80% bounce
2. No ppc ad are running

I get a futher explanation from the Google Gods:

•Auto-tagging is on but cost data is not applied (learn more)
•There is a redirect in the URL
•The gclid parameter is altered or dropped from the ad
•Auto and manual tagging are being used at the same time
•Manually tagged URLs are missing a value

My feeling is eMails with links to the home page are causing such I high medium (none count)

Would be grateful if any SEO mozzer could offer there insights,

Ive noticed some CMS platforms do not mark up body copy correctly. In other words instead of marking up body copy within p tags its marking body content in the following ways:

Whilst my gutt feeling this is not good i wonder just how serious a problem it will cause for the Google bots ie will they have problems indexing the content as  its best to always wrap contnet in opening and closing p tags.

So my question is please, am i worrying uneccesarily or is there a genuine penalty to pay SEO wise when body content is not mark up correctly.

Thanks Shane great example. But i wonder who creates the hash tag? I mean could i just pluck one out of the air now like #flashphotography and begin to use it and after time it begins to be used a bit like a new word in natural language.

I'm trying to get a better understanding of how search results are retrieved in Twitter. Take this scanario for instance. Via twitter search (see screen grab for illustration [IMG]http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/hash-tag-query.jpg[/IMG] ) you enter Vintage Clothing. The results
show tweets where some have #Vintage #clothing in the text whilst others just have the term vintage clothing in the tweet.

So my question is please... "If your client asks how do i get my tweets picked up by searchers looking for vintage clothing should i ad hash tags or not bother and just mention the term in the tweek"

Put another way, why do some tweeters hash tag a key pharse and place term in the snippet. I'm, a bit confused...

Ok here goes... on this site http://www.cedarcourthotels.co.uk/ there is a canonical problem but I'm interested to know if my method of spotting a canonical problem is the most efficient.

In the case of Cedar Court I started with http://www.cedarcourthotels.co.uk/ then i entered this https://www.cedarcourthotels.co.uk/ and noted they were pointing to the same home page.

My question is there a quicker way of diagnosing a canonical problem or is it a case of knowcking out w's and adding s etc.

I'm trying to get the backlink profile for a website that will tell me what inner pages are being linked too not just the home page but I'm not having any luck.

Ive used Link Diagnosis but that just gives me a total backlink count, no good, I need to know what inner pages are being linked too.

I then tried Yahoo Site Explorer but you can only use it know if you give them your mobile tel number for a windows live account, err no thanks!

Ive also used the Site Exploerer API here via the dashboard but again no luck again

I've just read "5 Methods to improve, indexing crwaling & ranking". Tip number two says "Link for powefull pages to pages that need the juice"

My question is please; "What tool / methodology exists to indentfy pages withing a site that could be deemed as "powerfull pges" ie deeper pages that receive more inbound links etc"

If a site had 100 pages for example & that site was plugged into Webmaster Tools how could you diagnose if all the pages had been crawled?

The thing is I want to learn how to diagnose crawl issues with sites, is their a known methodology for this?

If anyone gets the cannce, how can you detect multiple versions of a home page? I mean i had now idea http://www.barrettsteel.com/default.aspx was another version of the home page.
