Hello everyone,
I have a client in a country that is not listed in Google. Effectively there is no adwords data available... how do I perform keyword research for such a country.

Yes RangeMarketing... you are correct.
Here is an example:
Hello guys,
One more point has just come up. I did a Copyscape search for content plaigiarism on the website and found that some pages (example the company overview page) has exact same content on multiple Linkedin domains (examples... sa.linked, tr.linked, ae.linkedin...)
does this matter?
Hello there....
Those 187 pages are image pages (or they may just be image files)... as in... nothing on the pages except an image only which is served on one of the site pages.
It does not bring any value to the user and actually doesn't even appear in analytics.
My gut feeling is that google would know this and will not take this as a negative signal. The images dont have a alt-attribute which I have noted and reported.
I am currently doing a site audit. The total number of pages on the website are around 400... 187 of them are image pages and coming up as 'zero' word count in Screaming Frog report.
I needed to know if they will be considered 'thin' content by search engines? Should I include them as an issue?
An answer would be most appreciated.
Thanks guys...
I have over 7 years of experience in SEO. Over 3 in SEM and PPC. I charge $ 50 an hour or equivalent for these.
But I haven't don't this kind of work before.
Actually I gave an interview today and this came up as a contracting project while they review other candidates.
Having said the above. I understand your inputs and am most obliged.
Hello everyone,
I have been asked to urgent quote a price for and begin working on the following project. for 2 websites (separate for each one ofcourse).
The requirements are as follows.
How much do you think I should charge for the project or per hour.Also... any suggestions you guys can give on resources would be highly appreciated.Regards,Talha
Hello everyone,
Just a quick question. Can anyone give me a safe estimate of how much time it could take for a Google Algorithm Update to show its effect in the Middle East after roll out?
Maybe you guys can direct me to a post to read through and learn more about it myself.
Your input will be highly appreciated.
Regards,
Talha
Hello Amelia,
Thanks for your response.
You may be right about the point that google might have rolled it out in this region now... but i would doubt it would take a year for the updates to show effect across the world. I deem it would be faster.
I did know it happened for wikipedia... but i only knew it in theory. Actually this is the first time i saw it and the interesting thing is that if you searched for 'linkedin' the results are normal. But a search for 'link' shows this embedded search feature.
Can this be explained?
Hello everyone,
I found this merely by chance. I wanted to open linkedin on chrome and hasty as I am i just typed 'link'. Wanted google to understand and return linkedin as the first result so i could just click on it.
This is what it returned.
Google allows you to search directly on Linkedin from the results page.
Its quite fascinating for me. I hope my knowledge isn't too outdated.
Hello Lumina, ahsan88 & Zippy-Bungle,
First accept my apology for not responding on your contributions earlier than today. Just got very busy with family. Actually I did reply to the thread from my phone but the answer didn't get updated.
Anyways... the updates are that I thought well in light of your answers and I decided to push back politely. I contacted my interviewer saying something like... 'I was hoping to get some feedback on my interview earlier ... and that I was actually offered a different position". I added her on Linkedin and sent her an message from there (I had her email but i hadn't taken it from her personally so I thought it would be impolite to land in her mailbox).
Well... She never replied back to me.
I waited a week and (12 days to get an answer from the HR guy) and eventually sent an email to the HR person to get a status update on our last conversation.
Its been 4 days now and he too never got back to me.
I don't know what to think about it... but I do know that it is not professional to say absolutely nothing in response to an email etc.
Anyways... my job hunt continues and hopefully I will find one... someday... hopefully soon.
Thanks again for your valuable answers and I truthfully appreciate them all the more because I think its great of you guys to have taken out time to reply on a question which was more of a personal nature.
Peace to all,
Regards,
Talha
Great answer Zippy-Bungle,
Quite sound advice. I will do almost just that
Thanks Ahsan,
I appreciate your answer.
Hello Lumina,
Thanks for the detailed answer.
I will give you some details because I think your advice would be valuable and sincere.
I applied for and was interviewed for a Head of Digital position in an agency. I am currently head of digital in house. The interview went quite well too.
My weakness I believe is that I do not know arabic (I'm located in Dubai by the way). However I did give a convincing answer on how I can make it work. I fit in quite well to rest of the job criteria.
Now they are offering me a PPC/SEO specialist position. Reporting to the head of digital.
So my apprehension is two fold...
Salary too would be lower than I expected ofcourse.
So tell me what you think?
Hello everyone,
I have a small quick question...
I recently applied for a role in a digital agency. They got back to me offering a lower role. My question is whether I should accept it or politely decline?
Also... should I ask the interviewer for the reason?
I would appreciate your opinions.
Regards,
Talha
Hello Tim & Robert,
What about links to social media accounts from the footer?
Hello Ahalliday,
First... apology for the delay.
Thankyou very much for the answer you have put here... it makes sense for sure.
If I may put an extension to the problem... what about at the architecture level. I do not want to cause indexation bloat... so I only want the right pages indexed and not all of them... so I want to put a policy in place for rel=nofollow OR exclusion with Robots.txt and I also need to clarify some rel=cannonical stuff.
Attached is an image of the architecture I have in mind. Let me know what you think about it.
Regards,
Talha
Hello everyone,
I am managing an ecommerce website and I am not sure what policy I need to make for a lot of the product pages. The Product pages, example Givency Bag, go live on a specific date and go down in a few days... like Groupon.
Please shed some light in this dark tunnel.
Thanks and regards,
Hello Sha Menz... Thanks a lot for your reply.... it was truly helpful. Please can u also pitch in to the additional question below. I would be obliged. Thanks again for your response, Regards, Talha
Hello MyHolidayMarketing, I am truly obliged for your replies... Ok... plz also tell me if I am right about the following. The home page for my website has got links to all Job Categories as well as the individual jobs posted within the categories. I have asked the developer team to make the main Job categories pages as followed links and the individual job posts as no follow (from the home page). The Category pages however have follow links to the post pages.... this way.... Link juice flows from Home Page to main categories - then from the main categories to the sub categories and from the sub categories to the individual job posts pages. What are ur thoughts about this??? Also... can u just let me know which pages I should exclude through the robots.txt file - should these be the member profile pages.... the login pages or should I let crawlers index the login pages??? I will appreciate ur response again. Regards, Talha
