H1 tag within on top nav but css class styled appear at bottom
I believe it depends on the user visibility of the H1 tag. It's fine to make H1 tags smaller and in odd positions - it would be difficult for Google to be overly punitive on creative design of this sort. I've created H1's smaller than H3s on many occassions. The question for me would be - is the new H1 the same or very similar colour to the background? Is it in an incredibly small font? Google is wise to attempts to "almost hide" content. I would ask why the SEO can't be more creative and make the content more visible. If h1 tag and keyword in it isn't appropriate there is something wrong with the overall content or keyword choice for the page.

Long tail keyword
Hi, My suggestion is entirely different what above mentioned. Create an adgroup with BMM keywords with at least 2 and max 3 words and let it run for 2-3 weeks. If you will do this you will get new longtail keywords that you will not get in any keyword tool. **I have tried and tested this method several times in my campaign and I got several new long tail keywords with improvement in goal conversions. Thanks

Duplicated content issue?
- many products no longer exist and visitor redirected (404) to a same not found page. Rather than a 404 page give a 410, this tells search engines that page is gone and its never coming back rather than just not found, will help remove the pages from Google as well. Google's pretty cleaver and Moz doesn't always get it right with duplicate content and canonical if you feel a lot of the pages are justified or serve the user as they are (e.g. telling them the page no longer exists) then it will be fine. In the large scheme of things the duplicate pages are not going to do you harm but its worth keeping an eye on it and doing your best to avoid them if possible using the canonical tag etc. but if you have done all you can i wouldn't loose any sleep. Lastly You can try Screaming Frog to help you find duplicate content if you want another look from a different tool. Hope some of that helps. Good luck!

Do 302 temporary redirect harm?
Hi, Thanks for the info above. I've checked the report in MOZ again. Among the thousands of medium priorities many of them are false alarm as they don't have redirect at all when I test. Many of them are 404 (not found) redirects when page/url no long exist. here is what google says about 404 (not found) redirect: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2409439?ctx=MCE&ctx=NF It says it's normal and do not harm the seo performance. Do I just ignore the according alarm? Thanks

Is it necessary to 301 rewrite /index.php to /?
Hi, ideally only one version of the URL should throw an HTTP header status code 200 and rest all can be redirected to the preferred version via 301. Suppose, http://www.abc.com is your preferred version (the www version), all others like, http://abc.com, http://abc.com/index.html, http://www.abc.com/index.php etc., can be redirected to the www version via 301. It is highly recommended to maintain this consistency through out your website. You can use a tool like the following to check if you have multiple versions of your homepage return status 200. http://www.ragepank.com/redirect-check/ Hope it helps. Good Luck. OSE report doesn't quite reflect the fact for me?
We can't really say as we can't see the sites OSE shouldn't be your only way of checking a site's details. There are other factors involved, their fresh content, maybe they have old 301s, more links (OSE wont be able to see all of it) and so on. Add to it that maybe they have better bounce/UI/UX and a better social following. If you could share a bit more info, I think the moz community would be able to help further

Is skimlinks-unlinked organic and valuable?
google might recognise it as an affiliate link and therefore unnatural and so reduce or remove its seo value.

How to migrate social likes when moving blog domain?
Hi Laura, If you're looking for the the counter on your social media buttons to update to show the original number of social shares then it's not going to happen, I'm afraid. When you move domain, all of the social media buttons will reset their counters and show '0' for all of your articles. Having said this, you need to make sure that you set up 301 redirects from all your old pages to the new ones. If you are just doing a straight domain swap (i.e. all the URLs will stay the same except for the domain name) then you can add the following code into your .htaccess file: Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} \olddomain.com$ RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://newdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L] You will need to replace 'olddomain.com' with your old domain name and 'newdomain.com' with your new domain name. A word of warning here is that making changes to your .htaccess file (if you don't really know what your doing) can end badly, so make sure you pass it on to your developers - otherwise, you can use that plugin. All of the SEO benefits that your previous pages have gained (links, social shares, etc) will be stransfered to the new domain, but your social shares counters won't be updated. I would recommend giving the following article a read before moving to a new domain: http://www.webseoanalytics.com/blog/seo-guide-how-to-change-your-domain-name-without-losing-your-rankings/ Hope this helps! Any help on best practices to move blog domain?
Laura, Wordpress.com has a Offsite Redirect service that you can purchase for something like $12 per year, or something like that, and it provides a 301 redirect to your new site. If you purchase that service and upload your backup to your new domain, you'll be in good shape on the duplicate content issue. If you just delete the old site and not pay for the redirect service, there will likely be overlap in Google's index of identical content from two different domains and unless you get a lot of good links going to your new site immediately, your old site would probably be recognized as the authoritative one for the first 4-6 months or so.

Is this a duplicated content?
While the blog format of showing a snippet with "read more" links is commonplace and perfectly acceptable, I would argue that it DOES matter whether the blog is on your domain or not. It would be better to have it on your domain. You don't want to seem like you're trying to beef up the content on your product and category pages by simply pulling in someone else's RSS feed snippets. The longer you wait to move your blog over to your main domain the more difficult it will be. I would do this sooner rather than later.

Why articles submitted to squidoo not indexed by google
Articles should reside on your own blog / site or in specialist sites. For example, it's perfectly acceptable to write an article and become a contributing author on SEOmoz, but if you start adding links to your site, expect to get a slap from Mr RandFish Best way to get your articles out is to share them via Google+, LinkedIn Groups, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Collaborate with others, ask their views and if they would like to contribute to the article. No quick wins any more I'm afraid. Andy

How to track the performance of my guest blog posts?
Apart from the SEO benefit from the link pointing back to your site in the byline, if no one clicks through to your site, shares or comments on the article then no it's not successful. The idea of guest blogging is to generate exposure for your brand, I generally measure success by the level of shares, comments and click-throughs. But that's just me.

How to promote my guest blog posts?
I will try the approaches you guys mentioned. But I've got another question as I want to measure how successful my effort: when deciding the value of the links from the article Does google take into account how many times the article is read? Because some people do not bother taking further actions (like/share/clicks) even they like it. I can't track this article views through analytics obviousely. On the other hand let say the article create valuable info to the readers (many people read it) but no likes/shares/bookmarks would this still become a successful article/link marketing?
