At Moz, we remove the "staff" sash from an author's profile when they leave, but we don't do anything regarding their posts -- they're all left as-is.

We've run out of indents in Q&A. Can you clarify which is your understanding of title tags? It's not clear which person you're responding to. Thanks!

RE: Page Authority dropped to 1 for subdirectory in my site
I noticed the campaign is listed as /Testing/, which has a 301 to /testing/. I don't know if this would cause the problem you're seeing or not.
I'm assigning this question to our help desk, because it's out of my area of expertise. They'll be back to you within a day or two (Mondays take longer, since we are catching up from the weekend).

RE: How to Index my backlinks?
Is everyfay a typo, and do you mean you create new backlinks every day, or is there a site called everyfay?
What tool are you using to see if your backlinks are indexed? Some tools (such as Open Site Explorer) take a while to see the links, and don't see some of the lower-quality links.

Thanks for letting us know, I'll pass that along to the engineers.

Zovi, we're discussing internally what to do, and we'll update as soon as we have more information.

RE: Why Moz OSE, Ahrefs, Majestic and so on, don't change their user agent while crawling?
I agree with George here -- we'd hear a huge outcry if we pretended to be Googlebot or a different bot. We'd also likely get blocked, as sometimes people only let in a certain few known bots/IPs to crawl their site. If we changed user agents and IPs regularly, it would not be cool or TAGFEE.

RE: Image Optimization & Duplicate Content Issues
The first thing I would do would be to look at the copyright on the Formica site to see their policy on copying their content.

RE: Can you recommend a link builder from the Moz list?
And that you get a list of links they built. If they're on the Moz recommended list, they should be the type of company that does that, but it's just a general note. You want to be wary of the ones who say they're giving away secrets by telling you the links they've made.

RE: Page Title Tag operands , - |
Hi Morgan,
I'm familiar with using the pipe as an OR operator in some searches (also works on Craigslist now, thankfully), but I have not seen anything about it having any type of meaning to the search engines like that when used in a title tag. Could you share any references you have about how the search engines evaluate characters like this in a title tag, rather than a search query?
Thanks!

RE: KW Difficulty Daily Limit |
Honestly, what happened was we had something not work right, looked into it, and discovered some extreme abuse of the system. We went whooops, looks like some limits we had set previously hadn't carried over, let's reinstate them.
Right now, we're taking a deeper look at how this tool is being used, if people use it on a daily basis, or if it's more of heavy load a few times a month, and what makes sense for both us and our users in terms of usage. We will likely have different limits for the different plans.
I don't have an estimated time for changes right now, but there are several emails a day discussing this, so I don't anticipate it being something that takes months and months to implement. I will keep this thread updated as we have more information, and I am passing feedback from this thread to the teams in the discussion.

RE: I could not find a support number for Moz on your site
Hi Chris,
We actually only very rarely remove questions in Q&A. In this case, four different users have volunteered their time to answer the question, and removing the question would be Moz removing their time and effort from the community. You can edit the title of your question and the content of the question, but the replies will remain. It will also help users in the future who may have a similar question.
Thanks for understanding!

RE: I could not find a support number for Moz on your site
Hi Chris,
If it's a product-related question, you can often get your question answered faster in Q&A than in our help desk. If there's a billing question, or question that involves a URL you'd prefer not to share, out help desk is available at https://moz.com/help/contact or by email at help@moz.com.
The Getting Started guide at http://moz.com/help/guides/getting-started that Lesley mentioned is also a great resource for getting your feet wet with Moz.

RE: Page Authority dropped to 1 for subdirectory in my site
The update was on July 23rd, so it may have been that we crawled your site earlier in the month (before the 12th) and the new pages weren't included at that point. You should start seeing more in OSE at the end of the month.
Are you only asking about OSE, or also about crawl diagnostics? Just making sure I'm answering the question correctly. Thanks!

RE: How Many Words To Make Content 'unique?'
Do you have dealerships in each of those locations?
Usually content written exclusively for the search engines and not for users is not the best type of content.

RE: I have a client whose shop will be down a few days. What would provide less impact to organic search program?
I would personally vote for having the pages live and either not being able to place an order (with a message), or have them be able to place an order but have a message saying things will be delayed. Totally depending on your client's type of business and customers, they could also do an email or blog post or note on their home page warning people in advance of the downtime.
My husband runs a small business, and many things are custom-manufactured by us. It's a small, niche industry, and many of the people know each other. There are only a handful of forums devoted to the hobby. We had a period where we were effectively shut down for a couple of months, due to a fire at the location we were using, followed by moving. We did a blog post on our site, and then posted on all the forums letting people know what was up and that orders would be delayed. I did take the shopping cart icons off the site at that point so that people couldn't order. Thankfully, people were fairly understanding.

RE: Not a valid URL?
Can you send a note to help@moz.com? We can look and see what's up. Sometimes, it's because there's a server-level block of Rogerbot.

RE: I have a client whose shop will be down a few days. What would provide less impact to organic search program?
Here's a blog post from a couple of years ago that talks about that and should be helpful in your situation. http://moz.com/blog/how-to-handle-downtime-during-site-maintenance
Best of luck!

RE: Domain.com/keyword1.keyword2.html vs doamin.com/keyword1-keyword2.html
A period before the domain is a subdomain, like blog.domain.com.
A period after the domain usually indicates an extension, such as domain.com/index.html.
