I'm afraid that I don't have enough experience with Google Search Console to comment on why those links might be displaying differently than expected. If at any point you need any extra help looking through Open Site Explorer's results, feel free to pop some URLs in here or send them straight over to help@moz.com.

RE: Open Site Explorer Doesn't Discover Link for my website
Hi Will,
Sorry for the confusion with OSE! A key thing to remember about having your links appear in OSE, is that it isn't about your links as much as it is about who links to your links :). OSE's crawl starts from a seed set of trusted sites and crawls links to discover new content in a trickle-down fashion. Therefore, the more sites with high authority that are found linking to you, the more likely your link is to be recognized in the index. This process is also time sensitive so fresher links are prioritized; meaning that consistent updates to your link building will behoove you.
As Andy mentioned, this process can take a good deal of time. There is no finite time frame that can be guaranteed for when your links will appear. The best thing I can encourage is to start building relationships with the sites that link to you (visible from Google Webmaster Tools, as Andy also referenced), as well as with high authority sites that you want to link to you.
Using the bit.ly link is a great way to get your foot in the door, so to speak. The optimal way to do this is by tweeting a link to a linking page (the link for a site that links to you). The other portion is that you need at least one other person to follow that link. Then you should be on your way!
I hope this helps to clarify the process! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions, and have a great day!

RE: How do you update/edit a campaign to move from http to https?
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble! Unfortunately, there currently isn't a way to change the URL for a campaign (this could have some seriously strange interactions). If you have a spare campaign slot in your account then you could keep the existing campaign open to access your historical data, and create a new campaign for the https version :).
Also, you can always get a crawl report by using the Crawl Test Research Tool! I hope this helps!

RE: The Moz Spam Score tells me my site has too few backlinks for such a large site. How many links per page would I need to not trigger this filter and stop appearing spammy?
Howdy!
I spoke to one of the folks that worked directly on defining these spam flags, and they said that the calculations in this type of case are a bit too complex to pass along any sort of generalized guideline. So, the best thing that I can recommend would be to check out Rand's video about how to interpret Spam Score: http://moz.com/blog/understanding-and-applying-mozs-spam-score-metric-whiteboard-friday

RE: Are Yellow Pages links good for SEO
Without having the client's site to be able to check, I'd guess that the reason you're not seeing these links popping up within Open Site Explorer is due to the size of Yellow Pages' site in conjunction with the way that we compile our index.
When we crawl through a site during the indexing process, we limit the number of pages that we'll crawl on a single domain in order to help us sample a broader and more diverse link landscape (or Mozscape, if you will
). There are a few million pages on Yellow Pages' domain, and since we elect to cap out indexing a single domain around ~50,000 pages (I'm uncertain of the exact value), only a relative handful of the most prominent pages on the domain would be included to avoid index saturation. I hope this helps to explain what you're seeing there! -
RE: Confused about the link metrics showing up in MOZ & OSE
Hi Maureen,
Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the confusion! This is a tricky one! All of this information is pulled from the same source; it's just being reported in slightly different ways. This campaign is set up to track the subfolder itelligencegroup.com/uk/, which is totally fine, but is also the source of the confusion :).
In Competitive Metrics, you have the option to toggle between domain and subdomain (http://screencast.com/t/aguINJ3OlFCA). If you switch to subdomain then you'll see that your results realign with the numbers in your Link Analysis section.
Then for OSE, you can see 14 root domains linking to the subfolder itelligencegroup.com/uk/, but if you add that to the 115 linking root domains for intelligencegroup.com you get the full 129! It's just displayed in this way because of the geo-locating redirect associated with the root domain for this site which makes for some funky link reporting.
I hope this helps to clarify the data a little bit! Feel free to let me know if you have any further questions! Thanks, and have a wonderful day!

RE: How many pages crawl within campaign.
Hi Saurabh!
Sorry for the confusion! Your campaign (at the Standard or Medium level) will automatically crawl up to 50,000 pages of a site and return the results within the 'Crawl Diagnostics' section on a weekly basis. The Crawl Test research tool is completely separate, and it will allow you to make on-demand crawls of up to 3,000 pages which can be viewed in a CSV. I hope this helps to clarify!

RE: Why RogerBot can't crawl site https://unplag.com
After creating a fresh test campaign for the site, I'm still seeing a 400 response being served to rogerbot from https://unplag.com/. While I'm not able to pinpoint the exact setting that is causing the site to serve that response, I'd recommend checking your server logs to verify the response that is being served.

RE: Are Just Discovered Links Reports Working?
Hi Elizabeth!
As you supposed, this issue is stemming from the fact that our system doesn't include the ".training" TLD. This is a bit of a tricky one because people could theoretically create any TLD imaginable (".cyclops" is one that I've been coveting for a while), but these have to be explicitly defined within our system; there is no catch-all set up to know what is or isn't a TLD unless we specifically declare it within our index. With that being said, I've sent over a request to have it included for the future :). I hope this helps to explain!

RE: How to find the campaign start date ?
While the date isn't readily available within the app, you can grab it from the Historic Rankings CSV.
Provided that you entered at least 1 keyword into your campaign during the creation process, the oldest date at the bottom of the Historic Rankings CSV would be your initial campaign creation date

RE: Rel Canonical
Thanks for writing in - I think I can help here!
Any items listed as "notices" in the Site Crawl section aren't necessarily errors or issues that need to be addressed; they are just pieces of information that might be helpful or interesting for you to know.
In this case, it looks like the tools are just letting you know that there's a rel="canonical" tag in place on the page. There's nothing wrong with that, and in many cases it's a good thing, as it tells search engines which page to prioritize and index if there appears to be duplicate content or more than one version of a page. This isn't an issue you need to take an action to resolve, it's just some information that might be useful to you.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything that needs clarifying!

RE: Is Url-Metrics Historical data available via API?
Hi there!
I'm afraid our API currently doesn't have the capability to grab historical data. So, you would only be able to fetch link data for the current index. Hope this helps to clarify! -
RE: Moz Weekly Keyword Ranking Received seems inaccurate - Australia
The discrepancy here is that Moz is querying Google in a process that completely strips personalization from the query, as Joe mentioned. This means that it's more representative of a national average for all searchers in the country, but it also means that you may not be able to reproduce these exact SERPs within your browser because your location is factored into your search results :).
If you'd like to check out a bit more info on rank tracking methods, I'd highly recommend this article by Dr. Pete: https://moz.com/blog/comparing-ranktracking-methods-browser-vs-crawler-vs-webmaster-tools

RE: Open site explorer
Aloha!
With respect to the 3 different sets of the homepage's metrics, that would be related to how the pages resolve. If the pages resolve separately (like http://www.sassandgrace.co.uk/ and http://sassandgrace.co.uk/), then their page-specific metrics could be different. So, you could consider creating only a single version of your homepage to help condense these values for the future.
As far as links showing up in the index are concerned, there could be a couple of reasons why they're not displayed yet. Our index is updated on a roughly monthly basis, so if your site (or the links pointing to it) are newer, then they likely wouldn't yet be included in our index. Another thing to note is that our index is focused on the most authoritative links we can find. So, I'd recommend focusing your linking efforts towards cultivating quality backlinks from prominent pages of authoritative sites, and you'll likely increase your chances of being indexed by Mozscape!

RE: "We were unable to validate the following listings with Google or Facebook"
Hi there!
We've got a little blurb about that in the FAQ tab of this page on our Help Hub: https://moz.com/help/guides/local/listingI'll slap it in here as well

Facebook
-
Must be a Facebook local business page. An easy way to see if your page is a place/local business is to see if it has the following: About, Address, Hours, Contact and Reviews.
-
Make sure that your business’s name, address and phone number are listed exactly as you would like them to appear in your Moz Local listing
-
Ensure that the page is publicly accessible (Check with incognito browser to see if the page is available prior to logging into Facebook. Also, possibly give a screenshot of a functionally configured Facebook page’s privacy settings.)
-
Make sure to have at least 2 check-ins to verify the physical location of your business. Not sure what to do here? Head to Facebook's resources to see how to let people check in and how you can check in.
Google+
-
Must be a Google+ local business page. Look for the ‘Review Summary’ section on the page. Some other things to look for: Verified check mark next to the page image, Address, Hours and Reviews. Here's an example of what the page looks like.
-
Make sure that your business’s name, address and phone number are listed exactly as you would like them to appear in your Moz Local listing. Note that service-area businesses (SAB) without their full address listed will run into complications with Moz Local since not all of our partners support SAB's.
-
Must be a listed as a “verified local business". Remember that check mark we mentioned earlier? That's what you need!

RE: Keyword Difficulty for SERP #14?
Indeed, there is!
On the option window that pops up when requesting a Full SERP Report from the Keyword Difficulty tool, you'll be able to use the bottom box to specify an 11th URL that you'd like to have compared with the first 10 search results (http://www.screencast.com/t/nzpvgpXgQq).
Party on

RE: Insider Pages & City Search Update Not Going Through
Hi Chris!
I'm sorry that there hasn't been any update on that listing for Citysearch or Insider Pages! I'm not seeing anything that looks like it would be inhibiting this info from being updated correctly, but they are our newer partners, so perhaps it was related to a complication with their addition to the app.At any rate, I've initiated a re-push for those aggregators, which should act like a local laxative and get this listings moving. If you're still not seeing progress in the next 8 weeks or so, please shoot us an email at help@moz.com so we can get our engineers to investigate further

RE: Suggestion to Improve Moz's Link Data
Hi Trevor!
As it turns out, we do have a cache on our index to help stop valid links from falling out of our view. However, we're not able to guarantee that all links we've previously indexed will be re-indexed within that cache period. So, it can certainly still happen that links will drop out of our index. In general, this helps to promote a stable index, while still preserving freshness and relevance of links that we report on.
As far as metrics like DA and PA go, it's always important to remember that these are relative metrics, rather than absolute. While it always feels good to see them climb higher and higher, a consistent score or even a drop doesn't necessarily mean that there has been no improvement. I'd definitely recommend checking out this post by Rand on ways to consider these metrics: https://moz.com/community/q/da-pa-fluctuations-how-to-interpret-apply-understand-these-ml-based-scores

RE: Body content Download Tool
Well, you you could definitely get a CSV of every URL and title from the 'Crawl Diagnostics' section of a campaign, but admittedly we don't have anything that will collect all of the bodies for you.
Perhaps someone else would know of another tool that would be able to help you out with that portion of your needs :). Live long and Moz-per!

RE: URL inaccessible for On Page Grader
Hi there,
Sorry for the trouble, but thanks for reaching out! It looks like that URL's server configuration doesn't contain all of the necessary intermediate certificates. You should be able to request these from your hosting service which will hopefully resolve the issue :). For more information on configuration issues you can check your URL with https://sslcheck.globalsign.com/en_US.
I hope this helps, and have a wonderful day!
