        Hello

Was the error message saying you are missing canonical tags? Yoast SEO should add canonical tags to your site by default. Do you see them in your source code? You can 'view source' and do a search.

Or was the error saying something else?

By default, Yoast should write canonical based on the permalink which can be overwritten at the individual page level if need be. If these are not showing up, I would suggest that you have a conflict with a third party plugin. I would view source to see if the canonical is tag is in the code. If this is not the case, I would recommend deactivating plugins until you see the tag, that will help you troubleshoot the offending plugin and explore with the creator of that plugin a solution to allow the canonical tag or explore and alternative to that plugin.

          Good luck

Is there just the one instance of the canonical tag? Sometimes duplicate canonical can set off the error and is can be an issue.

Have you tried any other crawlers?

What is the exact error Moz is giving you? Are they saying it's missing, or are they saying it's duplicate? Or something else?

Hmmm ok. I'm going to suggest we pass this to the help dept at Moz instead.

Thanks for writing in - I think I can help here!

Any items listed as "notices" in the Site Crawl section aren't necessarily errors or issues that need to be addressed; they are just pieces of information that might be helpful or interesting for you to know.

In this case, it looks like the tools are just letting you know that there's a rel="canonical" tag in place on the page. There's nothing wrong with that, and in many cases it's a good thing, as it tells search engines which page to prioritize and index if there appears to be duplicate content or more than one version of a page. This isn't an issue you need to take an action to resolve, it's just some information that might be useful to you.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything that needs clarifying!
