I am planning on migrating an entire http domain to https. For it to be successful and making sure that Google indexes these new https URLs and not losing any SEO juice, do I simply make sure all legacy URLs get 301 redirected to those new https URLs?

Finally what is a server side 301 redirect? What are all the kinds of 301 redirects if there are multiple kinds?

I have a meeting tomorrow with the dev team to discuss about dynamic keyword insertion implementation on a new site. This site currently holds 40 geo specific microsites with several service pages each carrying unique content. These pages(about 400 pages) are seen by VP of marketing as hard to maintain and inconvenient when wanting to change content across these pages. The VP is looking to automate content as much as possible without hurting our local SEO efforts.

The dev team will be asking me if dynamic keyword insertion could a viable strategy for these 40 locations without harming local SEO.

Currently we have a robust local SEO strategy in place and wouldn't want to change it unless dynamic keyword insertion is a viable option and won't hurt all the seo efforts that are in place?  If this is not a viable solution, any recommendations on any other solutions we could use to satisfy the VP?

If you have used DKI for your local SEO efforts, please share your thoughts and results that you have seen. Any real case scenario data/knowledge would be really helpful.

I am trying to add 2 verified locations on Moz Local. When connecting GMB account and Moz local, it says that these listings haven't been verified https://cl.ly/0j0F450P2y2E when they are actually verified https://cl.ly/1j1A1D2F4525.

Yeah I am getting different results. Lead numbers on Facebook are way higher(+20%) than what GA is showing me. We have been creating UTMs for all the facebook ads.

We are currently running FB ads and I am wondering if I should rely on the facebook lead conversion metric https://cl.ly/412f1j1a021I. I tend to rely heavily on Google Analytics for this kind of data(by adding goals). Of course GA doesn't not show as much conversions as Facebook does.

So which platform should I be relying on for conversion metrics?

HI Mozzers,

I am checking at a site Navigation and when disabling JS, I can see that navigation is not present. When checking at individual nav items, they are true HTML I believe  since they carry attribute but somehow not crawlable.

I am confused since JS is disabled and Nav is not showing up, isn't it suppose to mean that Nav is 100% JS?  Can someone tell if the Nav is good or bad based on the fact it has true HTML? I am not sure because couple years ago I knew that Google was not crawling well JS but seems that things have change based on http://searchengineland.com/tested-googlebot-crawls-javascript-heres-learned-220157.

Let me ask you this in regards to all the elements that are needed in SEO I was wondering if these were possible when using a Weebly interface:

1. is it possible to 301 redirect a non weebly domain to a weebly domain?

2. are canonical tags available on weebly?

3. are url structures problematic? for instance I read that urls skip subdirectories such as

   www.example.com/weebly instead of www.example.com/hosting-reviews/weebly?

Wordpress has become a pain in the butt as far as plugins slowing down site speed and snippets of codes breaking here and there. My goal is to decrease the constant maintenance that needs to be done on Wordpress. I am curious what do you guys think of Weebly as an "SEO platform" vs wordpress? I only hear good things about Wordpress for SEOs but what about Weebly?

Please share your thoughts and why one or the other is better for SEO purposes?

P.S: if you have any experience with Weebly, feel free to let me know how did that go for you and if you were satisfied with it.

We're about to migrate 4 domains into 1.

1. Is there a particular way I should generate and submit the sitemap or should I just follow the same protocol as  for one domain?  Should I even worry submitting a sitemap when the site has this drupal module?
2. I have access to the webmaster tools of all domains, should I do something specific on the accounts that are migrating besides submitting a sitemap?

I am doing an SEO audit for a new client that has an innovative product in the shoe industry. The terms he uses to qualify his shoes don't get searched that much. Digging in into his google analytics I found some potential kws that has a small amount of traffic that he is already ranking for. So my question is how should I conduct my kw research for an innovative product that is new to the market and no competitors to analyze from?

It may not be the right forum to post such a request but I am looking for an intensive advanced adwords training program within the next 2 weeks in the San Francisco area. I am adwords certified since last week but I have never really managed multiple accounts before and I am looking for something that would get me up to speed.

I have already researched online and found that Cardinal Path, Luna Metrics and Academy X are offering such classes but nothing this month. Do you guys have any suggestions for a good intensive training program around the San Francisco Area that offers classes this month? Online resources are welcomed as well.

If I decide to not 301 what should be the best alternative for these old events?

I feel I am facing a double edge sword situation. I am in the process of migrating 4 domains into one. I am in the process of creating URL redirect mapping

The pages I am having the most issues are the event pages that are past due but carry some value as they generally have one external followed link.

www.example.com/event-2008 301 redirect to www.newdomain.com/event-2016

www.example.com/event-2007 301 redirect to www.newdomain.com/event-2016

www.example.com/event-2006 301 redirect to www.newdomain.com/event-2016

Again these old events aren't necessarily important in terms of link equity but do carry some and at the same time keep adding multiple 301s  pointing to the same page may not be a good ideas as it will increase the page speed load time which will affect the new site's performance. If i add a 404 I will lose the bit of equity in those. No index,follow may work since it won't index the old domain nor the page itself but still not 100% sure about it. I am not sure how a canonical would work since it would keep the old domain live. At this point I am not sure which direction I should follow?

I was wondering what was the best way to show my audience articles that my client is featured in. My client is specifically a surgeon, who has been referenced in many articles around his specific field of cosmetic surgery. An idea posed is to repost the entire article but just reference back to the original article. Is there an SEO friendly way of doing this? I have seen this done before, like search engine journal's author Larry Kim might repost something he wrote or published on wordstream onto search engine journal sometimes, but makes the reference that it was originally posted on wordstream.

I know the standard thinking is to always just write new and unique content, but there is already a good amount written about our client and referencing his work, how can we use this to our advantage and give new or prospecting patients information regarding his credibility? Our client really does not want us to write articles for him, and he does not have the time to write them either.

Again Question:

How can we leverage articles and studies that have already been published online that is featuring our client and show them in full onto our own website?
