Query parameters for normalization in Bing
We see this too. We have canonicals in place, and we still see the error. And there's no insight into which parameters are causing issues.

Do I need a link to my sitemap?
To follow up on Andy's point about size - you can submit multiple XML sitemaps to webmaster tools. When I've used multiple ones before for a large ecommerce site, I believed it helped with the indexing.

Drop in domain authority for myself and all my competitors, was something changed?
We never had any link building strategies. External followed links has gone from 346-402. The site had amazing seo completely by luck, the site was redone in November and so there has been renewed focus on seo the last few months.

Duplicate titles and descriptions problem?
I am sure on the 301. I use http://www.internetofficer.com/seo-tool/redirect-check/ to check and it shows 301. I checked with and without the trailing slash. The sitemap is created and submitted everyday. The old urls are not accessible anymore. I am just stumped.

Site speed tests
As Tim mentions, it's critical that you add the customization for Site Speed Sample Rate to your Analytics tag if you are going to use Analytics to assess your users' actual page speed experience on your site (which it does quite well, once it's configured). If you don't make this customization, Analytics is only tracking 1% of page views, which makes it essentially useless as the huge variations between a few individual users will badly skew the results. Also note that for technical reasons, this process won't track pagespeed for iPhone mobile visits. Paul

Workaround for frames?
If he is an aspx developer, send him this. Thinking about it, its better than the jquery. It would go to the url you set, read in the html outputted, and echo is onto the page.

Bearshare links?
Do you have sample URLs where the links are coming from? The site looks like a search site, and it's possible that the search results are being indexed by Google.

When do my links show up?
I'm nerdy so I download a CSV after every update & keep track of them in a big ol' spreadsheet

Is a 301 to a 301 ok?
Yup, we just have one site but it needs all sorts of redirects. We have a site such as www.neat-stuff.com and most people just type in without the dash. We completely redid the site with all new urls so we had a lot of redirects to do.

How would I know if Google is showing me as two separate sites?
It's serious enough. I mean, why only fix 3 out of the 4 leaks in your boat? If you're gonna fix 'em, fix 'em all And it's potentially very serious if the unfixed version is one of the two on the primary domain. It's a simple extra addition to the IIS redirects. Do note though! All the 301 redirects should point DIRECTLY to the final primary url. e.g. you don' t want a redirect that goes neatstuff.com -> www.neatstuff.com -> www.neat-stuff.com. The header checker tool will warn you about this by showing two 301-redirects before finally listing the 200 response. Paul

Redirect help
That is exactly what we ended up doing thanks for your help. After site launch a few months ago we lost a lot of organic traffic. Think this will bring some of it back?

Value of certain directory links
Two things: 1. While it's a a good idea to reverse engineer your competition, you don't always want to duplicate them. Has the site been ranking highly for a while? If not, you may not want to copy their links. 2. In my opinion there are literally 10-20 directories worth the time and effort. Remember: it's all about looking natural. And nothing looks LESS natural than getting 100s of directory links. Here are some of my favorite directories: Free: R-TT Directory DMOZ (good luck) So Much Ranking Directory Directory World Net Insert All The Websites MavicaNET Paid: Family Friendly Sites BOTW JoeAnt Ask Bee DirBull.com Yahoo! Directory (expensive but worth it) Hope that helps!

Keyword Targeting with Dynamic Pages
Hi Niners, Hi Niners, most current CMS (content management systems) operate in a dynamic capacity, which means the issues you are facing are not exactly unique to .net applications. This is is actually good news, the more people who face the issues the better chance there is some help out there. I have built and or worked over a dozen large scale eCommerce applications in my time, and the one thing they all have in common is even though they are dynamic in nature they all required extensive time and content development. The ones that have done the best had the most time spent on creating content and working on SEO. Since .net is not an actual language more of a framework I think I most people would be hard pressed to provide much more targeted info. The main key is using a CMS that will accommodate user specific tweaking so you can differentiate yourself from the other sites using the same platform. In the end all of which requires time and effort. Hope that helps
