Google Places - second listing, same name
Seems like you could just add a second place page with no problems. That's what all the big chains do and they all point to the same URL on a site. For example, Chipotle has a different place listing for all their locations and they all just point back to www.Chipotle.com

Template change, huge drop in rankings
Hi Keri, as far as I could tell, it was a combination of things : template change, content change (more than 50%), Title change, new structure/layout of page, new elements/functions added...we basically changed the website. As far as the off site optimization is concerned, I don't think it had a major impact. Our link building was on track, a couple of annual paid directories expired but none of them was so important to have caused the drop, not even combined and I did not renew them. We are now pretty much were we were before the drop but we had a couple of big press releases that I think helped us too.

Video on press releases
I haven't decided yet which one to use; do you have any experience with any of them? More importantly, once the press release is out, you are just hoping that the page where it will be published on will have a high Page Rank? I have seen my competitors’ articles on other PR websites and the pages they are on have a high DA, above 60 but the PA is 1! I mean, if you spend a couple of hundreds of dollars, you expect at least a good backlink if this is what you are trying to get, right? this is an example: http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/groundlink-launches-first-mobile-app-providing-access-to-global-network-of-private-cars-through-ios-and-android-131975958.html

Books about content writing
I like your answer, I just don't have much time, I thought in my spare time to learn something by reading how others have become good content writers.

Content position on page
This is the template that we are going to use. http://demo.pure-joomla.com/pj_velocity_15/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=74&Itemid=110 I don't want to put too much content in the slides, it will cover the pictures.

Link building plan
About half of your plan is great, and the other half...not so much. If your plan is to create one article a month, it should produce a world-class article. Take a look at some of the SEOmoz articles produced by Rand, Cyrus and DrPete. Very clear information, well thought out which provide actionable and relevant information. You can't fit these articles into any of the measurements you proposed such as "300-500 words", "8-10 word headlines", "2-3 links", etc. These are not thoughts which you should have when writing the article. Those thoughts will box you or your writer in and lower the quality of the content. With respect to your suggestion of looking for hot topics in your niche, yes that is a great idea. It may be hard to actively participate in 10-20 blogs unless you have a very narrow niche and you are scanning the blogs, not reading them. For example if your site focuses weight loss, maybe you will read blogs on health, fitness, etc. and then only respond to the weight loss articles in which case I can see you being actively involved in 10+ blogs. If you take this approach be sure to remember your focus is to become a sincerely helpful member of the community. Most of your comments should focus the author, the topic, the community and not involve a link back to your site. When it is really relevant, share a link.

Internal linking best practice
I think in the case of a page for Sedan > BMW it would be categorically related to SUV > BMW, so cross linking should be encouraged. If you were to restructure your site, you might end up with "Vehicle Make" as a top category, and then body style as a subcategory, with categories like "BMW > Sedan" and "BMW > SUV". Another valid way of organizing your site, where the pages would have identical content. There's more than one way to slice a pie, so if they are justifiably related, you should cross link.

Title tag - shorter = better?
Why would SeoMoz not wish to appear on Page 1 of serps as such a position a) would bring new subscribers and b) demonstrate they are not summed up by the idiom; Those who can,do; those who can't, teach In the past I have met a number of SEO companies who make a play on the 'we're not about our results, we're about your results' Ahem, perhaps you can't match the SEO skills of your competitors? Anyway back to the topic, I am interested in your understanding of how ranking importance is distributed, that each keyword in a title tag is given its share along the lines of; If the title is one word like "SEO" then that word is given 100 points. If the title is "Search Engine Optimization" then each term would be given about 33 points. As many have suggested the earlier the keyword appears in the tag, the more importance it received and therefore the share for this title might be 45,35,20? Lets look at an example of a title tag for a eCommerce site Toshiba 3D LCD TVs | Free Delivery | TH32TT | TH42TT | Tellys.com As free delivery often help conversions (though of course title tags are not often read by humans) there is worthwhile search volume. Also the two most popular model numbers also receive search volume. (please ignore that this may cause competition with product pages and assume that this is a one page site and/or there will be no duplication or internal conflict). In this case just how much negative effect are these extra keywords inficting? Would it be better to strip back to Toshiba 3D LCD TVS ??? Thanks

Hotbot
Yahoo would be giving much more help than Hotbot in this case. Have you read Rand's recent post about the SERP Analysis tool? That may help you in looking at you and your competitor and finding out reasons the competitor is ahead of you. It's at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/the-best-kept-secret-in-the-seomoz-toolset

Buying a new domain
Hmmm... the only info I found about the domain I want to purchase is this: Registrar History: 6 registrars with 3 drops NS History: 11 changes on 7 unique name servers over 6 years IP History: 21 changes on 14 unique name servers over 7 years Can this be a red flag? On archive.org I could not find this website at all, but neither mine... which is not flagged... is archive.org accurate? Thanks!
