RE: What impact has external links reported as http503
Well, i see why it's being reported as 503. Cause even i can see it in developer tools. the main domain has 302 redirect and then responds with 503. Anyway, for you there is gonna be no difference in terms of seo. As far as I know google ranking algos don't use outbound links as signals. As relevance signals - sure, but not really of a much impact on rankings itself.

RE: How long after a new site goes live can the campaign be created in Moz?
Howdy.
Is the website accessible through a browser? All DNS propagated? How about robots.txt blocking? If none of these is the issue, and website has been live for couple days, then there is something wrong somewhere. Email at help@moz.com - they'll help you out

Cheers:)

RE: Does Google give more ranking weight for Shares for One Social Network over Another.
Hi there.
It's pretty much not a secret that G+ is more valuable. We also have seen good rankings bump after successful twitter campaign. It kinda make sense - both of those are instantly indexed and is the same company (G+) or have close deals (Twitter). If i had such relationships between platforms, I'd want people to use them more over my competitors, so, I would make them count more than my competitors.
Hope I'm right

Cheers!

RE: On Page #2 of Bing But Nowhere on Google. Please Help !
Howdy.
Ok, so,
- Low moz trust is quite bad, and, of course, it goes back to backlinks - amount and quality
- 20 posts is not all links you might have, especially if you use wordpress. There are so many pages for all the subcategories, categories, archives, comments etc. You can check it in SEMRush or SEOFrog on how many pages you have.
- Ratio is based on current data MOZ has. since they don't have any backlinks in their system yet, that affects your spam score, and it would be fine, if you didn't mention that you have been building links for months. MOZ Scape updates every 30 days or so, therefore if you don't have any changes in backlink amounts after two months of building - ouch.
- As for permalink - make sure you have proper redirects from old ones. (not saying you don't have proper, just make sure)
- Read #3 - if links are not in MOZ system after a while from building links, there might be some issues somewhere.
Hope this helps

RE: SEO benefits of terms used in Alt-tag, image name, page title
Hi there.
The purpose of alt tag is to describe the image if doesn't load and for visually impaired users, who use screen reader programs. So, i would go with more descriptive "black dress" than not-telling-me-anything "jadore 1234".
Also alt tag is used a lot in image search, so, if your business can benefit from image search, then it would make sense to include a little more details in alt tag than "black dress". Maybe something like "affordable jadore flared black dress - 'company name'".
Hope this helps.

RE: Date of Review on productpage - important for SEO?
Hi.
I say the content and "worthiness" of review is much-much more important than the date. Unless your products are freshness/time dependent. If you've been selling the same shoes for years, then reviews from 4 years ago will be as relevant as from yesterday.
Now, if your shoes had some major issues and you've improved since then, which would affect the reviews, then sure, remove the old ones, as long as they are irrelevant.
Also, it depends on how many reviews you're getting. If you have 5 reviews and 4 of them are from four years ago, then, I think you should pay more attention to actually getting reviews, rather than filtering them. Another thing I'd like to point out is that it's better to have old reviews than no reviews whatsoever.
In terms of SEO effect - as far as I know, the ratings is more important than the freshness. Which does make sense - if you have 1/5 stars with 10k review from last month - it won't be better than 100 5/5 star reviews from couple years ago.
Hope this make sense.
Cheers.

RE: Concerned about cannibalization for local SEO results. Should we move some of our location pages to a subdomain?
Hello, there.
_"The issue is that all these listings are coming from the same domain page" _- It is an issue, indeed. My recommendation would be to create unique pages (I wouldn't go with subdomains, I think that's just too much
for each location. At the same time make sure that you have all locations in local directories. This will help Google not to "nix" the results.I'd say look how big companies do it - let's say Apple and do the same way.
About links - https://moz.com/learn/local - good guide.
Hope this helps.

RE: Pinterest Link Value
Oh, come on.
Does Google use the # of shares or something - of course not. But there is definite correlation between rankings and popularity. Surely not causation, but correlation. The idea is that the more popular content is the more likes, shares etc it will have, which, in turn, will cause getting more links. More links = better rankings.
Maybe I simply formulated it wrong

RE: Youtube SEO Resources
Hi there.
I don't think there is much difference (if any) in YouTube optimization between 2015 and 2016. Here is a q/a thread from last year with bunch of resources provided. See if it helps:

Hope this helps

RE: Only 2 Inbound Links which are the Redirect 301 Links
Howdy.
So, here is the thing - MOZ link crawler is very delayed. They crawl about once a month. Also, as any other crawler, there is a limitation on resources. Therefore there is high chance that simply your link profile is not up-to-date. If all other tools are saying that it's the case, then you are good.
As for why your website is not ranking better than competitors - there are so many other signals than links. And the metrics are just metrics.
Hope this helps.

RE: Server-Side A/B Testing - Okay for SEO?
Hello, my friend.
Good question you got here. Made my brain leftovers to spin.
Anyway, here is my understanding (and I can be completely wrong).
As Google always says, don't treat Google bot differently from human users, also, they say don't play a/b testing on him. At the same time Google Analytics' a/b testing is working like this: when you visit page for the first time, you get "normal" page, than, based on chance of a/b testing, you either gonna stay or be redirected after loading the page (this one is important) to test page. After this you are being assign a cookie, so every recurring visit you are not "played" with testing until test is complete. Then all cookies are removed and everybody is served whatever version of a/b testing "won".
So, putting three hypothesizes above together, my understanding is that Google bot is being treated the same way - it gets "assigned" (or simply served the original) a version of the page on the first visit. This makes sure that there is no confusion by Google which version of tested page to index.
I think as long as you keep this in mind, there won't be any troubles for SEO.
Hope this makes sense and helps you.
Cheers.

RE: NAP Questions
Hi,
I'm not sure about how much capitalization differences effect your rankings, however I do know that Google likes consistency a lot. So, I say follow Google guidelines, it surely won't hurt.
About Google understanding the locations of branches of the company - that's quite easy. Do those locations have their own contact us/address information pages? Do those locations have their own Google plus pages? If so, then don't worry, it won't be duplicate. However make sure that you don't have exact duplicate websites for two different locations.
Hope this helps.

RE: Zen and the art of link building.
Hello, there.
I'll try to explain in short.
MozTrust - is WHO links to you. DA - is how MANY link to you = popularity. TrustFlow of Majestic is very similar to MozTrust, but since it's two different companies and two different algorithms - here you get the difference in result.
Now, why these metrics don't match the SERPS. SERPS depend on many things - far not just DA or Trust. Mainly is on keywords. So, if you have very specific service/product and you are trying to rank for whole bunch of longtail keyphrases, but at the same time dont have any links - you will still rank in top 20 for whatever many phrases.
Example: you can make any website rank for "super awesome blue and red cat sitting on a stainless steel shelf" and so on. So, if you have whole bunch of pages, optimized for such keyphrases - you will be ranking in top 20 for whole bunch of keywords. However, it doesn't mean whatsoever that you are not spammer (therefore Trust metric will be low) and you can have vurtially no links (therefore low DA).
And the reverse way. If you have high DA/Trust, but trying to rank for very competitive phrase - you won't be able to (or at least the chances are low).
Additionally, high DA doesn't always go with high Trust, it's much better after Penguin update, but still, if Google hasn't caught you as spammer, you'll have high DA, but since the links are coming from low trust websites - your trust metric will be low.
Hope this make sense and helps.

RE: Google My Business listing - listed at CLOSED (how do I open)
Hi there.
Whenever you go to managing your business listing page, there is a checkbox which says "This business permanently closed". Make sure it's unchecked.
If everything else appears to be fine, then just wait on Google. Usually it takes them couple days to approve changes. Make sure though that everything is properly setup, basically, make sure you're shooting yourself in a leg by having some incorrect settings.

RE: User friendly ad testing
Well, I'm not aware of such tool, unless you are talking about Ad Preview & Diagnostic tool mentioned above.
However, here is a link Google gave me:
Don't know if those are any of what you're looking for.
Otherwise, just Google, my friend

RE: Outreach with your own name
Yes, it does. Why is it bad? I assume that for your own outreach you are "outreaching" about seo stuff.
As for non-seo related companies - I usually use our clients info@ email or marketing@ email.
That way it's not related to me, but the company. If you do want to use your own name, then I don't think there is a way to go around your problem.
As for this: "people directly doubt my sincerity or they want to sell me a paid placement" - it's always going to be present and I don't think there is a way to get rid of it, unless your clients' companies become very authoritative in their fields.
