Google-selected canonical makes no sense
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, that makes sense, and that was my recommendation to add noindexing. I'm just curious about how and why Google decided that our canonical is not worth it

Post-August Google Updates High volume keyphrases rankings mess
Thanks for the response. Conversions and revenue are down, by significant number. I know that the update is supposed to be about relativity of content to users' intent etc, and it's all good if conversions are on the same level. But they are not, that's why I am raising this question here. _"Due to that, I'm not really seeing the same correlation which you are seeing" - _sorry, the screenshots were not as representative, here are the ones where you can see what i'm talking about clearly (I included higher volume keyphrases only here, and that's the problem we are having): https://dmitrii-regexseo.tinytake.com/sf/MzAyNjgzN185MDczNDY1 https://dmitrii-regexseo.tinytake.com/sf/MzAyNjg0MV85MDczNDkz _"Are you sure you're going down - and that others aren't investing more and going up?" - _well, i don't know how much others are investing, but looking at competitive research, I'm not seeing anything extra competition is doing - across all available metrics (content freshness, amount of content, backlinks etc) - we are outperforming. _"As you said you had done nothing on your site" - _not really, we are always improving, I'm just saying that there weren't any major overhauls or anything drastic.

Reviews for Plastic Surgeons and Other Businesses where Anonymity is preferred
Hi Dmitrii, Good conversation going on this thread. I will just add, there are some industries where reviews truly aren't prevalent. In such cases, it can help to show the client their competitors' lack of reviews - conclusion being that everyone is in the same boat. Sometimes, however, you find a competitor who is spamming Google with fake reviews, and that looks even stranger! How many people, for example, write reviews about how they love how Mike the bail bondsman got them out of jail because he's the best bails bondsman in the world? I'm just not a fan of anonymous reviews. Most credible review platforms don't allow them. If the nature of the business is so sensitive that customers aren't comfortable leaving third-party reviews, stick to what you can publish on your own website and focus on forms of marketing customers are comfortable with. Industries are different, and sometimes, we have to respect those differences and look beyond generalizations in marketing so that we're doing what really works for brands and their clients.

Was there Algorithm update over last weekend (sep 29-30 2018)?
Man I hate typical Google's response - "yeah, sure, we messed up everyone's past efforts, but we won't tell you what we did exactly"

Blog on Custom Website - WordPress Alternatives
Thanks for the response. Medium will not work for us, since we need to have a blog ON our website, on the same domain, in a folder. That's why WP usually works. Medium would take all the SEO goodness from our domain Ghost and Jekyllrb - haven't used of these guys, but aren't they third party hosted as well?

AdWords: Can I exclude specific keyword from showing on mobile?
Yeah, that's what i thought. Basically, it would be splitting campaigns into two/several. Well, thanks for the advise!

Website dropped out from Google index
"P.P.S. Just noticed that there is noindex x-robots-tag in headers" That will do it. You are telling Google to take all of your pages out of Google. You set that at the web server level and so you will need to get into your apache or nginx setup https://developers.google.com/webmasters/control-crawl-index/docs/robots_meta_tag Get on this ASAP!

How to rip benefits of Facebook Group likes and shares?
Hi there! Good answer! I am doing pretty much what you said, and am getting lots of good feedback as post likes, comments and personal shares. However, I'm not getting as many page likes as I'd like. About being relevant and posting engaging content - this part seems to be covered. My page is about dogs and puppies (here, you might like it too https://www.facebook.com/LeMitris/), and, therefore, all groups I post in are about dogs and puppies. Feedback is great, here is an example. I did this post and after doing some social networking work I got 45000+ reach, ~2k likes, 70+ shares and ONLY ~30 likes to the page. Now, as you see, it be very nice to at least invite those 2k people to like the page, but I can't since all those likes are in groups, not on my actual post. Any idea how to utilize this? How to rip these benefits? P.S. I guess I can try to friend all those people, but it'd be pretty weird, no?

January 2016: Massive Rankings Fluctuations
I'd take a look at your content. Identify your most popular landing pages and look at the their bounce rates and time on page. Is the content delivering as promised? Has it earned any links? If not, consider deleting, retiring or updating the content with the goal of improving its engagement metrics. I've experimented with this a bit and noticed improvement. Nothing scientific, but it's worth a try. Pick a couple to start and see what happens.
