Is constant contact a good source for seo links? how about best of the web? Is tweet angels a smart move? anybody got a good list of strong DA and PA link companies you can do business with and also get strong follow links from? thanks...
Hi Ben! Hard as it is to hear, you're really not likely to make much headway with links like that, rankings-wise. Directories really just don't have the value they once did, and it'd be pretty clear to the search engines that links from, say, Constant Contact aren't exactly "organic." That doesn't mean they'd _hurt _you, necessarily; it just means they're not likely to do you a lot of good. It certainly takes longer, but you and your clients will be much better-served through organic link building. I'd recommend reading the Beginner's Guide to Link Building if you haven't already. It's a great place to start.

Hey all good mozzers - For my new publishing company, would you recommend building on a Wordpress Platform or a different CMS? I want it to look great to user and also allow me to fully optimize it for ranking purposes - thanks
Sure, if you have a developer that can set it up with a nice design, WP is also good from an seo standpoint!

What do I do about accessing open site explorer?
Hello, Abe here on the SEOmoz Help Team. I had to do some detective work with this exact same issue a month ago and came up with a crazy solution. I hope this works in your case. If the issue is not cache and cookies, check the calendar on your computer and make sure the time and date for your location are accurate. If the date is set ahead at all from the time zone of your IP address, OSE can return a redirect loop (I think gmail is affected by this too). Please test this out, confirm the accuracy of the date, and let me know if you are still getting the redirect loop message.

Should I remove links from my internal blog?
Hi, It's good to place links where the reads can benefit. It is not good to place links to manipulate the search engine. Having EMA (Exact Match Anchor) multiple times on a blog post clearly looks like an over optimization attempt. 1. Should i stop adding so many blog articles to each site? You can add as much content to your blog as you want. However, it must be good/entertaining/educational content. 2. How many interlinking anchor texts should I use per blog? There is no real number for that, placing a link to another resource should be done for the user not the spider. 3. Should I go back and either get rid of all those interlinks on past blogs or just trash the blog articles altogether? I would remove all the links that do not help the readers or change some of the links so that they do help the reader.

Can some brilliant mozzer out there teach a moron/newbie like me how to 301 redirect several URL's I have?
THe logic i like to follow, is make sure all domain names point to the correct version. to make that plain rather than, if B then redirect to A, you should say if Not A then redirect to A For linux servers put this in your htaccess RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www.mydomain.com$ RewriteRule (.*) "http://www.mydomain.com/$1" [R=301,L] for a windows server I have a tutorial here http://thatsit.com.au/seo/tutorials/how-to-fix-canonical-domain-name-issues

Is my SEO strategy solid moving forward (post panda update) or am I doing risky things that might hurt my sites down the road?
The opinions that you get on this will vary depending upon the content development skills of the person who is speaking and their tolerance of creating competition for their own websites. I would not do any of the following..... *Writing quality articles for external blogs with keyword links back to sites *Taking the above articles and spinning them at SEOLINKVINE to create several articles *Writing quality articles for every site's internal blog and using keywords to link out to other sites that are on different servers - All articles are original, varied and not duplicate content. *Writing quality, relevant articles and submitting them to places like Ezine

What are good companies to buy links from?
I soo am wainting for the first "PM me & we talk" posts But on toppic: If you need to buy links, than see what domains/pages are also ranking for your targeted keywords and directly contact those webmasters and see what you can work out. Skip Teliad et al. There are bloggers here and there who will link to you for a free sample of your product or some paid article without disclosing it. But beware: you are in violation of Google's webmaster rules.

How is a site really ranking when taking into account Google places?
This is almost a philosophical question, like "If a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, did it make a sound?" In this example, if Google shows Places results in its regular SERPs, does it matter the format? Most would argue that a #3 position is #3, no matter how it's formatted. The general public won't recognize the difference, and all indications are that click-through rates are about the same. Regardless, to answer your question about how SEOmoz tracks rankings, the PRO platform tracks rankings in a way that is location-agnostic which means that in most cases, localization isn't a factor and "traditional" Places listings don't show up. That said, for many queries with local intent, Google will display results that mimic Places listings, like this result here. Whatever Google returns as the result to SEOmoz crawlers, this will be recorded as your rank. So long answer short, the PRO platform doesn't distinguish between regular SERPs or Places SERPs, as long as those results are returned by the search engine for your query.
