That's it! No need to submit your sitemap to any other search engine.
We've experienced this issue in the past. Uninstalling the toolbar and reinstalling seemed to fix the problem for us. Otherwise, Kristina provided very detailed and helpful instructions that I am sure will help solve your problem!
Hi there!
I agree with what you're saying—the more and more paid ads on a page, the harder is it to generate clickthroughs from the organic results. While a lot of people click the ads (usually without even realizing it's an ad), there are still some people who were told growing up to never click the ads, and thus always scroll down to the organic results.
While these opportunity/potential scores do seem really high in comparison with what you're seeing on the actual SERP, I would still considering optimizing a page for your desired keyword because yes, it's not ideal to be lower than all those ads, but 2) you NEED to show up in the organic under those ads if you want to generate any sort of clickthroughs.
Good luck!
Hi Chris!
I know how you must be feeling—trying to take on a competitor that is ranking very well can be daunting. But believe me, it can be done!
Here are some suggestions to get your company ranking on page one AND outranking the competition:
We wrote a blog about getting your business on the first page of Google, so be sure to read that for more in depth information than I shared above!
Let me know if you have any other questions—hope this helped!
Glad you were able to get this resolved!
Hi Jazee,
At the end of the day, this ultimately comes down to what you think is best for the company. I do agree with the other answers that building these out as two separate sites could be a better option. And I am going to add on a few more factors that I think you should consider before making this decision. Because the services are so different, you will be able to get target the website (think: backlink outreach) if the website is on one specific topic rather than focusing on multiple services.
However, if these are on one website, you should be able to grow the domain authority more quickly because in theory you could have double the amount of backlinks (link from websites for each service) linking to the one domain.
Hi there!
What is the URL and keyword phrase that you are looking at? We'd love to take a look and see if I can help figure this out!
Hi,
I have to agree with the previous responses. Anchor text is important because it gives web site visitors (and search engines) a hint about the web page or web site they are about to visit (if they click the link). This is why you DON’T want to use common calls to action like, “click here” or “our website.” Instead, you want to use keyword rich anchor text. But you don't want it to become very spammy sounding—so keep this in mind when creating content.
Anchor text helps search engines understand what the page is about and it also helps establish site architecture. And depending on the anchor text of the link, it might even increase your rankings for certain keywords!
As an example, if you’re having a contest to give away a free website makeover for the HVAC industry, make free HVAC website the anchor text! If thousands of web sites link to your site using the anchor text ‘leading residential furnace installers‘ there’s a good chance that you’re in the residential HVAC business and you install furnaces!
I hope this helped! But if you're looking for more information check out our blog that discusses if you need links to rank on Google.
Hi Salman,
Like Oleg said, the clickthrough rate would be low and rankings wouldn't be optimal by shoving all those keywords in.
If I were you, I would start off the title tag with:
Acer 355 LCD Laptop Repair |
And then figure out which of the other keywords are the most important to you or use Moz's keyword explorer tool to see which you have the best opportunity to rank for.
Hi David,
I agree with Tymen—you should continue guest blogging AND building out the content on your own website.
The reason why that page ranks so well on the SERPs is because Photography Life's has a high domain authority. If you had posted that guest blog on your own personal website, it is probable that it would not even rank on Page One of Google. By creating more guest blogs for website with high domain authority, you will likely improve your own site's authority—thus increasing the chance of having your site rank better!
In all, backlinks are an off-site way of increasing your SEO, rankings, and thus, potentially leads and sales. Backlinks are judged on their domain site quality for users, relevancy to your site’s content, and domain authority. As with most SEO tactics, there are no quick fixes and easy wins within a link building strategy. We've written a blog on what makes a good backlink so be sure to check that out if you need more information.
Hope this helps! Good luck.
Hi Tariq!
Unfortunately there can be a variety of reasons why you might notice your rankings decreasing. Because of this, it's hard to specifically pinpoint where you might be experiencing a problem.
Here are the things I would look at that should hopefully improve your rankings:
These are only a few places to start with optimizing your website - but I hope this helps you improve your rankings!
I agree 100% with both Donna and vcj!
If you have the opportunity to get the backlink, I would take it. The more links you have to your site (from reputable sources) will demonstrate to Google that you have an influential/informative website. As long as the page that is linking to you is relevant, there is no harm from getting the link.
Keep up the great work getting those links!
Hi there!
This can be a good link building strategy - but only if you do it right. Don't go around to random blogs and comment a site link. But if you do this strategically and find relevant blogs that allow comments, this is a good way to do this without it being "spammy".
Hi GlobeCar!
I found this Moz blog post that should provide some insight: https://moz.com/blog/301-redirection-rules-for-seo
I hope this helps - let me know if I can be of anymore assistance. Thank you!
Adding your contact number is allowed, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it -- especially if you use tracked phone numbers on your website to track the leads coming in organically, direct, paid, etc.
i recommend mkaing your meta descriptions catchy and include a call to action that will entice them to click through to your site, which is where they will find your contact information.
I see the other great responses to your question but wanted to provide some more info as well!
Whether you’re familiar with anchor text or not, if you’ve spent any time on the Internet, you’ve seen it a million times. Anchor text is the keyword or keyword phrase that serves as the link to another web page or web site. Anchor text is typically highlighted like this: anchor text (if you click this example, another window will open up that contains our other blog http://bluecorona.wordpress.com).
Anchor text is important because it gives web site visitors (and search engines) a hint about the web page or web site they are about to visit (if they click the link). Unfortunately, there isn't always a clear cut answer as to why your website is ranking as well as a competitor's website is. Have you looked into authority? One factor you might not have as much control over is how long your domain has been in use. If your competitor has been around for fifteen years under the same domain while you've only been around for, say, five years, they're likely to have a better rank based on their authority if all else is equal.
Ultimately, the best thing to do is stay up with Google's best practices. Is your site mobile friendly? Have you tested your website in Google PageSpeed Insights and found that your site's speed is in good standing? Have you migrated your site to HTTPS? These are all factors that already are or could be playing into Google's ranking algorithm.
If all else fails, keep practicing SEO best practices. It may just take time!
