This is great advice. And don't forget in Search Console (Webmaster Tools) under Crawl in the sidebar you can use the URL Parameters tool to tell Google which parameters are used to paginate. You're directly telling Google then that that's how you would like those pages to be seen. In addition to using rel="prev"/"next".

Unnatural linking -- including paying for links -- is against Google's guidelines and can get you penalized. Additionally, the vast majority of YouTube traffic never leaves YouTube. YouTube is a great channel for branding, but not a great channel for getting people back to your website.

Hi there, I see what you're trying to do, and I think I understand it. You're attempting to conserve your link equity and flow it only to the most important pages, or what we use to call "pagerank sculpting." The good news is you don't really need to worry about it. These days, adding nofollow to your links doesn't really increase the equity flowing through the followed links. And in fact, you could be shooting yourself in the proverbial foot by denying equity passing links to your lower product pages. Best time to use nofollow for internal pages is typically to increase crawling efficiency, or to prevent bots from visiting pages you don't want indexed anyway. Attempting to scuplt link equity in this way could cause lots of unintended negative consequences and my advice would be in most cases to let your link equity flow freely throughout your site in a way that was natural to both humans and bots alike. Hi  Panagiotis Triantopoulos, There isn't any hard and fast rule for it. So, go ahead with a different anchor text without a doubt. As far as it's making sense w.r.t the linked article (descriptive enough to talk about the article theme), its good to go. Hope that answers!

Hi, I'm working on a website with more than 10 million URLs and hence, couldn't rely on these tools for this. Wrote a script to generate the XML sitemap, it takes a text file with all the URLs and generates the required XML sitemap considering 50,000 URLs per sitemap limit etc. things. Let me know if you have list of URLs with you and interested in generating it at your own (you can ask your development team to integrate this script for auto-generation etc. as well), I'll share the script with you. Hi Veebs, The original page referenced is 404 (gone). I scanned 250 of your pages using Siteliner.com and Screaming Frog. I didn't see any more /self/self/self type links. Do you have another page that is showing the same issue? Thanks, Don
