  • Yoast premium has that  functionality. You checked for that? And you've  verified that the page is actually  redirecting?

  • Eden, You can certainly get away with using the same content on all the sites by canonicalizing all of the to a single main site. That would tell google to count only the content found on the main  site. All pages with the same content on other domains would be rendered non-competitive, which is not the same as a penalty. However, if you want  each  of the domains to be competitive in their markets, they should have unique content--and we're not talking a few changes here and there in the copy. We're talking real unique copy relevant to each  of their locations. There must be good  reasons the company chose the locations it did. Be creative about those reasons and get them down on paper. It's just part of doing business online.  The company didn't just throw up  a facade at each physical location--they shouldn't do so online either. And don't forget your Google my business pages for each location.

  • Lee, Have your read through this? https://moz.com/blog/how-to-optimize-your-google-my-business-listing.  I don't skimmed through it, but really learned it to the point where you can evaluate how well your competitors know what in there.  There is a lot more to GMB than keyword rich content and asking for reviews.   You will  really have to work on your pages to get them up there.

  • Anja, Have you  looked at your google analytics to see if those resources are bringing in any traffic? Generally, yes, you should redirect those resources. https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-changing-image-urls-will-affect-rankings-in-image-search/286163/#close

  • Even though Google does have an international targeting function in GSC, I've had more success with hreflang tags on pages. Technically, hreflang tags can be implemented on each page or in the sitemap, but having experimented with both, I've seen better results from the on-page implementation. So, I would recommend that you try to implement hreflang tags, in which case you can specify both the country and the language (Ireland would be "en-ie"). Make sure to check the following, when you do: include a self-referencing hreflang tag on each page (in other words, a tag for the page's intended locale) include an "x-default" tag on each page verify that each page referenced by another page's hreflang tags has a reciprocal hreflang tag referencing back in the opposite direction. verify that the hreflang tag URLs are also the canonical URL for those pages, and that no redirect occurs when accessing.

  • Hi Dennis yes I was able to see everything inside Search Console’s It look to me like everything has been correctly. I am honestly kind of stumped as to why the 301ed domain shows more index links. The only thing I can think of is that the site map was submitted to Search Console and that the search and replace was recently done so those URLs were still on your  hosted site. Google will take up to 4 to 5 months make  the move. it should be much quicker after you’ve done the search and replace on the URLs. I would also upload the old  XML site map to your new website & submit it to your Google Search Console. I am happy to take a look at your Hosting Infrastructure and see if something is awry there I cannot find anything using quite a few different tool sets and looking at your Google Search Console. It seems to me that this should’ve been done much faster by Google. I will bring it up to  Googles John Mueller in a Twitter talk I am going to have with him next week. all the best, Tom

  • Yo, Gael, I don't think any of your ideas are going to work for you. Not only that, but they could hurt your current site, if, in fact that one is ranking. Firstly, it's not about the domain name, it's about the website's relevancy to its target market.  What's that mean? You have to look at your competitors to find that out. What's helping them rank? Where are their links coming from? Are the links coming from Ireland? If so, you're going to need to build  up authority from Ireland. Where it's host could be a factor too. Secondly, your content isn't something you kick around like a an old hackey sack, it's something you grow, nurture and give a permanent home  for, like a puppy. And you don't duplicate it and pass it around to your besties just because they don't have any. You  tell them to make their own--and make it good.  No fluff content is going to rank for you unless there is zero competition. Spinning existing content stopped working more than decade ago. For most small marketers, getting a single site to rank well in a competitive market takes most of their time, let alone three completely different, completely non-networked sites. You might want to start from scratch on these ideas and wrap your arms around some basic SEO principles before you take your next step.

  • Okay, I'm a Shopify plus partner so I wish I could've been more help but I could only find it is a 404 from almost a year ago. According to the way back machine or archive.org https://web.archive.org/web/20180816071312/https://cracklefireplaces.com/ https://web.archive.org/web/20190304065054/https://cracklefireplaces.com/collections/wall-mounted-ethanol-fireplaces/products/ignis-senti-wall-mounted-ethanol-fireplace The page that you're referencing has no backlinks. | HTML Rel-Canonical |   | BROKEN https://cracklefireplaces.com/collections/ethanol-wall-mounted-fireplaces/products/ignis-maximum-wall-mounted-ethanol-fireplace | I would strongly consider looking at the liquid code inside of your team as well as simply rebuilding the page. Also when you doing shall provide a search engine optimization you don't want to have a duplicate of the content of your collection inside of your product content. I don't think it should be too hard to replace the missing page and use the same URL. You may also redirect that URL to your new product page. To find the redirects simply going to navigation and look on the upper left-hand corner and you will see redirects. You see have you have a collection and a product in the same URL normally that is not a good thing but it does mean that there is a duplicate, unfortunately, checking I could not find a straight product page for That product. One thing I would strongly recommend no matter what version of Shopify you are running is using a backup tool like rewind there are other backup tools this is just the one I prefer if you type in backups into Shopify apps you will see what I mean https://apps.shopify.com/backup  having a backup Can be a real lifesaver it should be built-in but unfortunately, it's not. Lastly, this is a great article on Shopify SEO for my good friends at go Fish I would recommend reading it as it goes in deeper than what I had about the issues with having collections and products inside the same URL. https://moz.com/blog/shopify-seo Let me know if I can be of any help, Tom

  • That's your open graph description, which gets displayed when your content gets shared on social media. But it is not what the search engines use.  With out a proper meta description tag, Google will take a snippet of text from the page that it feels is representative of the answer the searcher was  looking for when they performed their search.  Even  with a proper description, Google may automate one that's different, but it's best to craft your own if you're good with words.  The meta  description doesn't impact rankings, though--just click through from the serps.

  • Hi there! That's because they aren't based on  search volume. Keyword Difficulty takes into account the Page Authority (PA) and Domain Authority (DA) scores of the sites ranking on the first page of Google for the given query. We also modify intelligently for the projected click-through-rate of a given page. This puts more weight on higher-ranking, more visible pages and less on lower-ranking, less visible pages. The formula also accounts for newer pages on powerful domains that may have DA scores but have not yet been assigned PA values. You can read more about the Keyword Explorer Metrics in our Guide. I hope this helps to clarify - if there's anything else I can help you with, feel free to reach out!
