Not Ranking - Any Tips?
Sounds like you've found the issue, or at least the main one. I would wait on the dev site to be removed before starting over with a new domain. KJr

Application & understanding of robots.txt
Yup.. also don't forget that robots.txt is just a "recommendation" for robots. they do not obey it Basically Google does what ever it wants to Also if you want to block a folder so its inner content wont be "accessed", in case anylink will point to this page, even if its coming from outside of your domain, it will be indexed.. Although the content of it wont be shown on search results but it will show up with a notice stating that the site content is blocked due to the sites robots.txt.. best of luck!

Migrating micro site into existing website
Thanks, great to hear of someone else's experience with a similar issue. Glad to hear your rankings mostly improved where you had a corresponding page on the main website. Makes me hopeful that the same will be the case for us.

Large robots.txt file
Answered my own questions: https://developers.google.com/webmasters/control-crawl-index/docs/robots_txt?csw=1#file-format "A maximum file size may be enforced per crawler. Content which is after the maximum file size may be ignored. Google currently enforces a size limit of 500kb."

Is it OK to shorten your brand name in your title tags
Hi Ali, Well i think that the answer to this question is really simple... User.. User.. User... Do you think that putting the brand name at the end of each title will add a value? Or will it increase CTR? Does your brand that much well-known and popular that you believe that if you add it to the title your CTR will sky-rocket? If you can answer yes to one of these questions, i think you should do it.. otherwise i am not sure In terms of SEO, you will gain absolutely nothing (well but if it increases your CTR.. you might get more rank boost from google) P.S.: google is running a test to increase the serp area from 500px to 600px. which roughly translates into 70char increase from 55..

Importance - meta title keyword
As others have said, maybe, maybe not. In my vertical, if "Macy's coupons" is the keyword, then everyone in the field puts that first in the title tag because the conventional wisdom is that it's the optimal placement. The problem with that strategy is that everyone's title tags are nearly indistinguishable from one another. Literally nothing in the column stands out from anything else. Blah. When we added a dynamic count to our titles, eg. "7 Macy's Coupons", and wrote them so they remained keyword rich while also reading more naturally, we observed two important things: 1. Our rankings did not change at all. 2. CTR went up. The working hypothesis is that the number helps us stand out and the natural structure is easier to read and digest. It's optimized for human eyeballs just as much as it's optimized for ranking. That's just one example, of course, and I'm sure others can line up with examples where the slightest change to a title tag knocked them back to page 30. I'd recommend testing it out.

What Is your view on wix domains?
Wix always had and always will have problems. They are slowly trying to understand the importance of SEO for their users. They do a wonderful job giving you a "DIY" site creator which is super easy to use and setup but for that you comprimize a lot of other things. What Dmytro mentioned about funny #! characters in the URLs was actually Wix users nightmare. Around last october (2015) majority of Wix sites got deindexed just because of poor development QA and laziness of Wix programmers. They assumed whatever they want to assume to cut corners with Google Ajax issue. IMO Wix never was good enough SEO wise.

URL structure with broad search phrase but specific intent
I have mocked up a small URL hierarchy pic to illustrate the two above cases: Type -> Geography [image: nuHkEK6.jpg] Geography -> Type [image: 35pPdq0.jpg] EDIT: I realized afterwards that the **Geography -> Type **illustration is incorrect in the second leftmost column. It should say domain.se/city-1/neighborhood-1/street-address-1/type-2 instead of domain.se/space-type/city-1/neighborhood/street-address-1/type-2, in the second leftmost column and second farthest down row. It should also include internal links inbetween that box and the one to the left. nuHkEK6.jpg 35pPdq0.jpg
