  • Hi Patrcik, Thanks for such detailed response. We tried a little to make it naturally as you said; but seems like it gonna take more time to outrage the homepage. Rather than saying landing page, I want to say redirecting homepage to another page. Anyhow we are not ranking better for the "keyword" we are targeting, so we decided this redirection. We noticed our competitors doing good by ranking with website.com/keyword. Can we redirect for a month around, so this /keyword page might get highlighted to Google and users as well. We try to replace /keyword page with homepage internally to avoid internal redirects (Homepage have been linked internally from many sub-domains even). We tried linking internally /keyword page to say Google how important the page is, still it didn't workout. We decided to risk as we are anyway not doing great right now. Please share your views.

  • -- update: the new Moz Pro site crawler is now live, this means we can now crawl your SNI site. If you have any queries please check this post on fixing 803 errors, or reach out to help@moz.com -- Hey there! Patrick linked to a really helpful Q&A article, but the other big cause for an 803 error would be SNI (Server Name Indication). Unfortunately I don't see the actual domain included in your question, so it's hard to be sure, but that's usually the prime suspect. Our current site crawler does not support SNI and if that is in use on your site, we will have trouble crawling it. The good news is that we have begun to develop a new crawler that supports SNI, which is currently in beta. If you're interested in being a part of the beta testing, you can head here to sign up: http://goo.gl/forms/LCvL9Ix8JDHfbAvr1 I hope that helps! Feel free to reach out to us at help@moz.com if you want to discuss these errors in greater detail on a non-public forum.

  • Hi there, Lisa from the Moz help team here! I'm sorry to hear about the strangeness you're seeing with this. Unfortunately, you haven't given me much to go on to figure it out for you. Please can you email me at help@moz.com with the details of the URL you were looking at? It would also be helpful to know whether you were using On-Page Grader or if this was within a campaign.

  • Hey there Cory, Moz Local picks up a corresponding GMB listing automatically, provided there are a few specific things in place on that page as listed above - if we still aren't picking up the Google Maps listing, we can definitely investigate further for you. Cancelling your existing listing and repurchasing won't have any effect if, for your current listing, we are already running into trouble finding the listing on Google. Could you pop over a message to help@moz.com so we can take a look into your account for you?

  • Hi BlueCorona, How you doin? I would like to ask you a question, I am wondering if I can integrate my google ratings to my homepage using schema scripts. That being said, my plan is to include the numerical ratings through AggregateRating and hopefully be displayed on Google's SERP when someone searches for my website. Since you mentioned that we can feature the said overall ratings. What would that link be? Should the link be visible on the Homepage itself? Example: "See all reviews" (This will be the anchor text pointing to our google profile placed somewhere in our homepage). *** OR *** Should the link be included on the schema script only. Let's say it will be included on the RelatedLink or SameAs property. Looking forward for your insights. Thank you and have a nice day!

  • I completely agree with Patrick you get all the domain authority and back links from utilizing a subfolder in place of a subdomain. Google considers a subdomain separate website. Therefore subfolder should almost always be used for very unique cases. Hope that is enough to convince you to use the subfolder. All the best, Tom

  • We have 1 h1, 19 h2, 4 h3 and 8 h4 tags for most of our pages. Like these h2s are repeating from almost every page. Does this hurt us anywhere? And h4 tags are at footer links. I am worried whether same tags repeating across different pages.

  • Hi there If the PDF's URLs are changing, then yes you should redirect the old URLs to the new URLs. Even more so than a search engine perspective, if users have bookmarked or saved the link to your content, they need to be redirected. My vote - include them, be on the safe side. Also make sure internal links and the sitemap XML is updated to include the new URLs. Hope this helps! Good luck! Patrick

  • Hi Lily, That's what I'm doing for the moment and it does the trick but I feel the need for more! I landed on these guys: content-insight.com, but the crawler doesn't seem to be getting the actual content. Thanks for the suggestion!

  • The problem is finally resolved. We rewrote some main content on the homepage + changed the menu, so the 2 websites look different now. We had to wait again a few weeks for Google to update, but since today, it's back ok. Thanks for the help.

  • Hi there I would make sure that your meta tags and robots.txt are both allowing for proper crawling / indexing of that page. I would then make sure your internal links are all pointing to the correct URL and your sitemap.xml is up to date and correctly submitted to Google and other search engines, like Bing. Take the time to learn proper SEO techniques and Google Webmaster Guidelines, then make sure your pages are properly optimized for the keywords / queries you wish for them to rank for. From there, it's a waiting game. If you have everything in place, Google and other search engines will find you and rank you accordingly. Make sure you look into Moz Pro to properly track keyword rankings as well so you know where opportunities lie and where you need work. Hope this all helps! Good luck! Patrick

  • Hi there, It looks like you asked this question here and also wrote in to us via our help channels. I have responded to you there. Unfortunately, this is not something that we are able to offer. We currently only have an API for links, not for keywords, and we don't collect the data you're looking for. If we do offer this in the future, there'll be an announcement on the Moz Blog and I'd recommend keeping an eye on there.
