  • Add more unique content, it may have been dropped after the last google farm update due to the page not being unique enough, as the others have pointed out, just build more links, obvious but true.

  • Hi! We're going through some of the older unanswered questions and seeing if people still have questions or if they've gone ahead and implemented something and have any lessons to share with us. Can you give an update, or mark your question as answered? Thanks!

  • Ok, so it seems that we have articles in our blog that have been syndicated throughout article submission sites.Such as articlebase and the likes. From what i've read these sites have been hit pretty hard due to the content farmer update. This is more than likely why we were hit so hard. I'm in the process of having unique content written and posting to the site also, removing any and all duplicate content. Hopefully, this will put us back in our previous ranking position.

  • I was looking through some old questions of ours and saw that this one is still open. However, seogadget has obviously solved this problem when they introduced their Google Adwords Excel Plug-in!

  • Hi Challen, The following code should remove all index.html from any page you go to but I recommend you get someone who is comfortable working with .htaccess files since you can do some damage if you don't do thing correct.  Plus not all code in .htaccess files works the same on every server.  So if the code in the other few answer doesn't work and neither does mine, it may be something to do with your host and you may need to check with them. Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} /index.html\ HTTP [NC] RewriteRule (.*)index.html$ /$1 [R=301,L] Casey

  • I too have this same question so I hope others will weigh in here. Like Wissam, I too have relied on Google's Keyword tool and market Samurai (which in turn relies on Google's Keyword Tool) My concern is that despite what Google says, I fear that numbers don't accurately reflect organic search but are more reflective of Adword results. They say they have changed this but that may be in what terms they return in the tool suggestions, not so much in the numbers themselves. Also, I have read that Bing is making some inroads into Google market share for search. So I feel I should be paying attention to things outside the Google universe. Any suggestions or thoughts on next gen tools for keyword research would be appreciated.

  • I considered this but our shopping cart software is has a lot of "black box" features including this one, so I have no control over how this feature is handled. Also, we use SLI search with site champion, which does a very similar auto-generated landing page function for category facets so including this function again would be redundant and possibly dilute our indexed results.

  • Blueglass has produced some good infographics, and has also blogged about what makes a good infographic a couple of times. This can be helpful when thinking about ideas for how you want it designed. http://www.blueglass.com/blog/what-makes-a-good-infographic/ http://www.blueglass.com/blog/foundational-infographic-elements-for-link-baiters/ SEOmoz also has an extensive post on the infographic development and marketing process at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-to-build-links-with-infographics.

  • I wouldn't want 300 casino and body part enhancement blogs linking to my site, but in general it's not a problem. Jen Lopez has mentioned my business (RC model warship combat boats) with a link in coverage on the SEOmoz blog in relation to a wrap-up post on an SES we both attended. I'm not going to turn down that link. A lot of the top links to our business in OSE are from SEO sites, as I usually liveblog a couple of conferences a year. Would I intentionally go out and try to build links from someone with a blog about fruit tree care as opposed to spending the same time and effort building links from a blog about WWII model ship plans? No, not at all.

  • Thanks for the report back. It's always helpful to have data points about how long it takes for this type of thing to come through.

  • What we decided to do was a process for each deletion along with setting up a 301 redirect for any missing or incorrect bio to our Bio's home page. First, we will remove the bio from the XML sitemap and resubmit the sitemaps. Second, we wait a couple of days then delete the actual bio page from our site. So far this seems to be going alright.
