  • Duplicate content is one of many hundreds of factors.  If you have a very well crafted site, highly optimized, and with a very strong inbound link profile, but only a couple pages (ones that are not highly relevant to your primary topical focus) are duplicate, the potential negative impact on your overall rankings will be minimal. This is true for most SEO factors.  If any single factor has a flaw, but it's not a flaw that applies to the whole site, that single factor is going to have minimum impact on the overall site.

  • I'm not sure how to remove answered. I came across this link to my site via google: http://mopupduty.com/index.php/jose-bautista-gold-glove-candiate/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+JoseBautistaNewsOnDaylife+(ExcitingAds!+Jose+Bautista+News+on+Daylife)\ Is this auto generated by my wordpress blog? I assume it is just a regular link, letting me know the source is Day Life. I also ran my article text through Copyscape and came up with 10 different matches

  • We completely understand that and expect to have to do some formatting changes. To me if the only thing I have to do is minor formatting that's 100% ready. Agree about the editor though, it's being fixed as I type! It's super, super annoying.

  • Hi Matt, Thanks for the answer! I don't think it's site links exactly. I added an image to help clarify. It's very similar to site links, but there's a play button next to a video link. And, good luck with the IPad. HxNG1

  • If your sites are registered in the webmaster tools on site settings and general settings. You can determine which region your site serves, in the destination country. Where the site is hosted is also a factor in rankings, I know it's a difficult decision, but also interfere. Another regional factor is where your site gets links, then concentrate the actions of the Australian site linkbuilding local sites in Australia. Hope this has helped.

  • And to add to Matt's reply, not all search engines recognize canonical tags, so if it is a dupe content issue, then 301s are vital.

  • Whilst I thank you for your response, I am curious as to if you would elaborate more. You have stated that we have both missed the point? I am wondering, what exactly is the point that is being missed on both ends? So you are telling me that the frequency of backlinks being created on a certain domain does not affect the quality and value of the backlinks? Especially if this same PR is being distributed into a network of other PR sites? What about using the top X amount PR sites (some free) once per month? Some do not have a distribution network and some do or you can opt out of such a feature. The proposition given to me was, release a PR once per week for the SOLE purpose of developing/creating backlinks to a specific site. We do not have press/news worthy enough information to release on such a frequent basis. Who really does? Are these backlinks really worth that much to release "unworthy" news? Would really like to hear more on how you back up your opinion.

  • For user experience, I don't like it either. But I'm more curious about the duplicate content issue. Could they be seen as simply full text RSS feeds on multiple sites? Or since the root domain is still apart of the site, it is actually seen as "on-site duplicate content" which some suggest penalizes the main site. i'm going to recommend removing the posts all together, and then to offer an RSS of just links on another portion of the page. Maybe on the left or right column? This could be beneficial as it builds our internal linking.
