Do Friends Let Friends Sell Links?
Read http://www.seroundtable.com/sponsored-links-12978.html for an interesting perspective from Barry Schwartz about the paid, followed linked on Search Engine Roundtable. They've been there for years. He refuses to turn them nofollow, and says "There is no doubt that if I removed the links, my traffic would likely increase by 25% to 100%." There are over 100 comments on the post as well.

302 (Temporary Redirect) & HTTPS - how to improve for SEO?
Thank You, Darryl. Do you know if it is required by some online merchants to have SSL on all pages of a site, or just credit card info pages? Or do they not require it at all?

SEO PowerSuite - best kept SEO secret or just bullsh..?!?
We own (or have a membership) in all SEO tools just to understand who is doing what. SEO powersuite is a cool set of tools (website auditor, rank tracker, seo spyglas and link assistant) which are used as client software (not SAS). They follow different approaches and have a good understanding on SEO and how to rank well. These tools will help you, even if you have other SEO tools. They run promotions where you can get huge discounts, for example 70% and you pay only 200 USD for their base package and you might think or have the impression that it is a one time payment. But this is not true and a subscription update is many times more expensive than to buy a new license. Basically the bad point with them is that they cheat you with subscription updates you are forced to do to run the software. They have many forced updates, for example the cloud update or the "software Search algo updates and Maintenance plan". To update a single product (of the 4 or 5 products they have) cost 477,60 USD for 12 months as regular price (means you have to pay 4 x 477,60 USD = 1910,40 USD for a 12 month update). The 1910 USD is just for "professional edition", on the "enterprise edition" it is probably many times more expensive. As their pricing policy is they offer some "friendship discounts" but still the pricing policy of bringing people in with 299 USD for the products and than making very expensive forced update plans is not what I prefer. Their software is not bad but in the end you can have MOZ or Semrush for the same price or even cheaper. (PS: You can find some of their pricing here https://www.link-assistant.com/prices.html#search-algo-updates but keep in mind that you have to buy all the packages for all the products)

How to set an appropriate Adwords max CPC?
This is another great suggestion and YES I do this on a weekly basis. IMO, your answer fits right in with the discussion. I usually like to pull my full reports from AWStats from within the server. I then "weed" out certain words that should be within my negative campaigns and find others that may be worth running.

Can search engines find the text in a drop down menu? Is it better to have more links or a drop down menu?
Both Ryans are spot on. If you are not sure if it is a CSS coded menu or not, I would suggest posting the URL to your site so one of us can tell you.

The impact of homepage link compared to site-wide backlinks
I've actually found site-wide links to have detrimental effects when tested. I usually go for in-content links.

Googlebot + Meta-Refresh
Sorry to say we're digging in the crates here... but one of the companies we acquired and took over full ownership of in May of this year had a site with no htaccess in standard html. I went meta refresh for my redirects. I'm thinking if I verify the site in WMT and then acknowledge that is has been moved to our current domain, this should probably be the most legit way to inform GOOG that we made the move. If anyone has any feedback that is more up to date, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

I tried what you suggested but it didn't work. I still have a few more things to try when I get back from vacation. Thanks for checking back with me.

Products page design | e-commerce
Typically slider content and partially hidden content isn't an issue, just try to use layers in a clever way instead of moving the content way off the page left or right. As Steven mentions: TEST TEST TEST. You'll want to look at this from both a user experience angle and how well the page does in Google post change.

Hunting for organic keywords: WordPress vs CodeIgniter
I would definitely use Wordpress for a blog. And I agree with EGOL, keep the content in a folder.
