Question concerning a 302 Redirect
That's fine, I think in that case, they didn't really know why they did it, so it will certainly help them to know, that there's better options around. Thanks again for your insights and time, you helped me a lot with that one! Cheers, Chris

200 Redirects for SEO instead of 301
Mag and Ryan, thanks for the replies. That is what I thought as well when they brought this all up. I did some research and didn't find anything. I thought maybe I missed something and there was some new, better way to keep rank when changing URLs.

Are unusual chinese links likely to be black hat?
Like anywhere now, there are black hat sites / directories and white hat of the same. Typically, if the links from China are similar to a linking scheme you'd see anywhere else, it's best to avoid the possible short term benefit you'd get in going after those links. Although you probably already have, I'd continue to look for link opportunities from the first ten listings instead of this one.

The best SEO practice for a .hk domain
With the .hk top level domain you'll have enough of an indicator to get localized boost so you could continue to maintain hosting in a different location. A few things to check in to: 1. Localized load times. Do HK customers experience slow or speedy load times of the site? 2. Customer privacy. Is the hosting in a country that matches up well with HK (or UK) laws on privacy? 3. Localized conversion rates. Does having a site with the HK extension help or hinder conversions? Most of the other best practices when it comes to domains are going to be pretty universal and similar to what you've done with your others I'm guessing.

Targeting specific Geographic areas. Use 1 large.Com or several smaller country specific TLDs?
I understand your position and agree it is a good strategy for large and mid-size businesses. I would agree it is a good strategy for small businesses as well, but it may not be practical. Ideally every business who registers a trademark would expand their registration to every country, but the cost is simply not affordable to everyone. Domain registration is much less expensive, but it also requires an annual fee. There is a lot too consider.

Meta description tag missing in crawl diagnostics
The first thing I notice is you do have two different pages http://www.britishhardwoods.co.uk/oak-skirtings-architraves.php http://www.britishhardwoods.co.uk/oak-skirtings-architraves.php/ The page with the "/" on the end is actually a different physical page. Both pages have the identical content presented differently. At a glance I would guess the page with the "/" ending is for users who view your site from a cell phone or with older browsers. Either way you need to canonicalize these pages. Right now those pages will show up as duplicate content to Google. As to your initial post, both versions of the page do contain a proper meta description. Their length is good at around 110 characters. I would check these pages in the crawl report for other issues. Perhaps it is getting confused. The canonical piece is a big concern which should be addressed immediately. Good luck.

What to do about "blocked by meta-robots"?
Meta robots refers to the < meta name="robots" > tag at the page header level. This is usually the case when a blog is set up with an SEO program like All In One SEO for example, where you can manually set which content is blocked. It's common to block archives, tags, and other sections, in the theory that allowing these to be crawled could either cause duplicate content issues, or drain link value from the primary category navigation.

I have a client that wants listed in about twenty surrounding small towns surrounding Dayton , Oh
We have several clients that need this type reach. Using an "in your Area" navigation link, and then as stated bt EGOL and bookworm, doing a community page for each city works pretty well. So one page listing the communities, and a page linked to that page with each cities information. The only other point I would make is you will need to add some serious link's and citations to the site, and the individual pages will need some attention as well. Reviews from customers noting the city are very helpful as well.
