How often do you refresh meta descriptions? And does refreshing meta descriptions help in ranking?
There is no connection to meta descriptions and rankings, so refreshing the content in the meta description will not help your rankings at all. The meta descriptions are typically used as the text below the page title in the SERP, so good meta descriptions can help click through rate. So write your meta descriptions for users, and only change the content if you believe you can create better copy that will drive more click throughs.

How to choose keywords for a small, local business
We have had some experience recently with just this task. First I would make sure that our on site optimization is correct for local search therefore title tags should be appropriate eg Toyota Car Sales and Service. Also that there is relevant on page local content and also that your meta descriptions have local context. Second, I would follow Rand's direction to getlisted.org which will get you on 5 of the most important local directories, qype, yelp etc. Follow this with any other local directories you can find. These all help with local search rankings. Third build links with local businesses. These local backlinks will help Google localise you and determine that your car dealership is the 'most popular' in anytown. Fourth Google Places Signup will hopefully mean you will appear google place search Apart from this general link acquisition will help boulster your position.

Tool which shows site ranking for a given keyword
I am not aware of any existing tool which performs this function. Stephen's reference contacted me and offered to build such a tool, but my client was not prepared to pay the expense of having a custom tool created. There is such an incredible array of SEO tools on the market that I mainly wanted to inquire if such a tool happened to already exist. I don't see a lot of value in the tool, but wanted to ask as per my client's request. Thank you for following up.

Were do I find the old Link Scape report that shows Domain Juice passed?
You mean something that shows how much link equity is passed by an individual link (like mozRank passed) or by a given page/domain (in which case I'd use PA or DA).

Considering redirecting or canonicalization - Best Practice
MJ, the challenge with that suggestion is it sounds like you are maintaining two websites. That solution would not work for any situation with UGC or any data which changes over time. Even in cases where the pages were purely static content, a canonical tag would notify search engines of the page you wish to be indexed but not users.

SerpIQ vs. Keyword Difficulty tool
I have had a quick play with SerpIQ. I thought the following bits were quite interesting: can be used to find related terms and you can then dig down into the keyword difficulty for each keyword provides data on the availability of exact match domains for a keyword keywords can be grouped together to manage the keyword research process I think if the first point could be automated i.e. you give it a keyword it then goes off and finds related keywords and provides difficulty scores for them it could be a lot more useful. However, in terms of usability and usefulness I thought the SEOmoz keyword difficulty tool is far superior and won't be swapping any time soon. Some useful ideas for possible future upgrades for SEOmoz though.

Seomoz Customer Service does anyone feel let down
Hi David, I'm looking at your profile, and see you do have a paid account (you can't ask a question in Q&A without having a paid account or 500 MozPoints). Sending an email to help@moz.com or visiting the Help Contact page at http://moz.com/help/contact is the best way to get in touch with us. Keri

Where do we place Google plus one button
Place it wherever you think people will use it. People might +1 your homepage if they like the website or brand, so it's worth putting there. Otherwise put it wherever else you have sharing links.

Report: keyword difficulty verses SERPS ranking
You could basically run two separate reports and join them together in one spreadsheet. One from Google's keyword tool (the competition is PPC based data but a good indicator) and the second from your SEOmoz account for rankings and get a similar view to what you have but much faster. The one thing you would be lacking is the target URL. Raven provides the adwords competition data next to its ranking view as well.

Hey Sean If I were you select all links to "any" and don't exclude anything that way you can do with the data what you please in excel rather than restricting yourself. But I guess it just depends on what your using the data for. Cheers
