HTML Not Validating META Title??!!
Hi Kyle, Thanks for your resopnse. The <title>validates no problem. It is the <meta name="title" content="etaojfopahfopasjfio" /> that does not validate. I realise this is depreciated, however I still think it is important to include surely?</p></title>

Social Bookmarking as part of an SEO strategy?
I think it depends on your business, but it's not just about promoting yourself and posting endless tweets etc. - you need to build relationships and target the right people - get involved, help people out, comment on how you enjoyed something they posted, if you genuinely did, and if it's relevant to your market. If you just post everything from your sites to your StumbleUpon profile, for example, why would anyone follow you? If you post other interesting content that's relevant to your websites, with occasional posts to the best content on your websites, then I reckon that's a better tactic.

This is not a question but a comment
I'd guess that your bounce rates have gone up? Are any of these visitors using your site for what it's intended? Is there really a value in such traffic? Perhaps you can sell more adverts...

How much of an issue is it if a site is somehow connected to a site that was penalized by Google?
Mike is right about the shared hosting - just make sure that there are no outbound links to the affected site. Shared WMT account won't matter. You can always use a different Google account if you're still worried

SEOmoz Q&A down last few days
I wouldn't quite say that Roger was slacking, but more like he was running in a bunch of different directions at once. It's unfortunate that the Q&A system had problems right when we started MozCon and the new OSE was rolled out. All of the questions did get posted, and the Moz team is looking through the questions that got posted. So sorry for the down time!

Is URL appearance defined by crawling or by XML sitemap
Hi Joe, THanks for the response. One thing: given that my URL structure gets everything beyond /professional/number/blah blah blah from Zend, does that automatically count as a 301 forward. Meaning, if I get the entire URL in the sitemap, will I still awaken the ire of the google-god? thanks

Iframes & SEO
If it's for design only, why not use a div with a defined height and set to scroll? Then you get full seo benefits as well.

I'm not getting the csv emailed in OSE? Anyone else?
Hi, I have noticed this problem too with my OSE, I contacted the dev team about going back to the old format where you can download the files to CSV and they said they are looking into it. (I hope they do) I think it is also a matter of demand on the website, I would wait till a SEOmoz rep also confirms this. Regards, James.

Does Google respect User-agent rules in robots.txt?
Does Google respect User-agent rules in robots.txt? Yes I've seen googlebot ignore nofollow rules set at the page level. Google honors the nofollow rules set at the page level. The issue is there may be other links on your site or elsewhere on the web that Google will find and follow those links. Robots.txt is the absolute last means to use for blocking pages. You should not block a page with robots.txt unless you have exhausted all other options. A more appropriate method of keeping a page out of the index is the noindex tag. If you use the tag appropriately, Google will honor the tag.

Backlinks that we didnt place, killing our SERP rank and PR
Just wanted to let you know that the links that are prompting a download are a bug in OSE and not real links. Check out the post by a Linkscape engineer at http://www.seomoz.org/q/how-are-our-competitors-getting-these-inbound-linking-domains. So sorry for not catching this thread earlier, hope it helps explain some of the problems.

Yoast canonical SEO question
Have had this question before. It's not wrong, at all. In fact I'd argue having canonical on every page is a very good thing.

Why Does this Site Rank for so Many Keywords?
Hi, I had a quick look it seems this site has around 2,000+ pages of content in a different language on a .us domain, so they are targeting people who speak chinese I believe from the US market. Quite a good idea I guess, I also believe the competition would be lower as .cn domains would not have the same power as the GEO rich .us domain. If you have great content, a huge number of pages and a few very targeted high quality links you can rank for a whole lot of long tail keywords. Regards, James.
