Disavowing links via Google Search Console will communicate your intentions to Google, but would not necessarily update Moz's spam score. Instead, you'd need to actually get the offending links removed for them to update on Moz's spam score. To calculate DA, we index the web by following links using a crawler. Our crawler is built on a machine-learning based model that is optimized to select pages like those that appear in our collection of Google SERPs. We feed the machine learning model with features of the URL like the backlink counts for the URL and the PLD (pay-level domains), features about the URL like its length and how many subdirectories it has, and features on the quality of the domains linking to the URL and PLD. So, it's not based on any one particular metric, but we're training the crawler to start with high-value links. In terms of improving your Domain Authority, with the information above in mind, it's best to look at both you on-page SEO to make sure you've covered the basics. Then you also want to look at your off-site SEO and building more links more links to your site. Hi there, Thanks for the question. The first thing to say is that DA/PA are Moz metrics and aren't connected directly to Google and how they rank your website. So the actual answer to your question is that having your DA/PA increase will not directly effect rankings because Google doesn't use DA or PA. Having said that, Moz have designed DA and PA to try to predict how well a domain or page could rank in search results, so generally speaking, the higher the numbers, the more chance you have of competing. Overall, the focus when it comes to authority should be for you to generate relevant, quality links from other domains to yours which will mean that Google pass authority to your website and give it a better chance of ranking. Alongside this, DA and PA may also go up which gives you a rough measurement of your own authority. Hope that helps! Paddy

If you have issues indexing specific articles make sure they appear in the sitemap. You can use the Google Search Console to make sure your sitemap is accepted by Google. The same tool can tell you if there are any issues while indexing your site.

There may have been a couple of small updates on the 20th and around 27th Oct, which may have impacted your site. However, there are lots of things to look in to.  For example, how much organic traffic has physically dropped in Google Analytics?  Are the drops in keywords in the main results or featured snippets?  Have conversions been impacted? Have any changes been made to the site in the past couple of months?  Have your competitors been impacted?  Is your link profile clean? Do you have pages competing against each other.  There are multiple things to start analysing and to look for clues from.

.../category-green/some-product.html .../category-brand/some-product.html .../category-widget/some-product.html .../some-product.html clean URL should exist and the canonical tag within the top three URLs should be pointing to this clean product URL. The 3 above can be crawled and indexed, but the canonical is assisting Google in understanding which is the correct product URL.  A product can rightly exist in multiple categories. If the platform is such that a clean product URL is not possible (urghh!), then a strategy needs to be developed to choose one of the category/product URLs as the canonical. My preference though is to have a category structure and all product links coming from those category pages are clean product URLs in the first place, with self referencing canonicals.

Hi Nathan, If you have no-indexed your pages, it is perfectly normal to then see no-index flags. They aren't necessarily an issue if you are expecting them to be there. Cheers, Andy
