Stuck on the 2nd page of google! Help
Hello, To the best of my knowledge, and based on my personal experience, I have seen google at times throw my page to 2nd and 3rd and even beyond! Do not panic. I would recommend looking at on-page optimization first to check your content and make sure it is relevant and easy to read and understand without too many keyword stuffing in it. check out this link as well https://yoast.com/ranking-signals/, it might help. Give it some time and see if there's any change. Good luck!

Does Moz Local update/correct business listings?
Hey, thanks for reaching out! If the listing you are seeing on directories is unmanaged and a close match to your listing in Moz Local, then there is a good chance that is the listing we are going to try and claim. If the directory does not have a close match, we will create one on your behalf. Which ever direct partner listings Moz Local is managing for you, we will update automatically based off the NAP information that you signed up with so there is no need for you to go to each directory on your own, it is an automated process. Hope that helps to clarify, let us know if you need anything else!

Hreflang on non 1:1 websites
Thanks for the reply! Yep, it is the same company (though each country's website is managed by a different group). Good idea on just doing the home page for the brand terms. Could maybe extend that logic for top-level pages too - target similar topics even if the content is a bit different per site.

406 Errors from Third-Parties websites In Google Webmaster Tools
You don't, I would ignore it as it's not really something that could actively hurt your site. It's not great that it's happening and I would double check with the sources if their content is still able to be seen by one of the user agents from Google but besides that, it's likely fine.

Meta Keywords is relevant in SEO yet ?
Meta keywords have not been a ranking factor in Google for quite some time. They also provide your competitors with a knowledge of the keywords you're targeting, so in essence by using them you're giving your game away. My advice is don't use them.

WEbsite cannot be crawled
Ok, I made a quick test of your robot.txt file and looks fine, https://www.threecounties.co.uk/robots.txt Then I made a test https://httpstatus.io/ to check the status code of your robot.txt file and show me 200 status code (So it's fine) Also, you need to make sure that your robot.txt file is accessible for the Rogerbot (Moz crawler) This day the hosting providers have become very strict with third-party crawlers This includes Moz, Majestic SEO, Semrush and Ahrefs. Here you can find all the possible sources of the problem and recommended solutions https://moz.com/help/guides/moz-pro-overview/site-crawl/unable-to-crawl Regards

Fundamental HTTP to HTTPS Redirect Question
Hi Sean / Others Can I just add one last question to this post? I'm not certain about the canonical tags. Although I don't need to add redirects for everypage, do I need to add a canonical tag to each page? Is there a way of doing this for all pages?

Seeing some really bad sites that ranked in my niche years ago reaching 1st page
DA is not always a good metric for determining who should rank. Age of the domain means even less. Low DA websites can beat Amazon if they have good content and a good reputation based upon visitor metrics. If you are being beaten, the first place that you should look is to the quality of your website and the quality of your content. Is the website and its content the most valuable to the searcher? Does it provide the information that they need, presented in a clear and easy to understand and easy to use format? If not, get to work.
