Google search console tells that only '58 out of the 3553' images in the images sitemap are indexed. But if I search "site:example.com" in Google images there seem to be lots of images.
There are no errors in the sitemap and I am still getting reasonable number of image search hits daily.
Are the webmaster tools stats for images indexed accurate?
When I click on the Sitemap Errors & Index Errors

how to fix duplicate meta title issue in amp and non-amp pages?
We have set the 'meta title' in desktop version & we don't want to change the title for AMP page as we have more than 10K pages on the website.

We don't have a separate sitemap XML for all the images.

I don't find the 'Excluded' in the sitemap section.

We have changed the media setting as 'Yes' by mistake it was set to 'No'.

I don't find the exact reason why images were deindexed, not showing there. When I check our images in Google it is still there in the cache.

Last week (Friday 14 Sept 2018) it was showing 23.5K out 31K were submitted and indexed by Google.
But now, it is showing only 1K 
Can you please let me know why might this happen, why images are not getting indexed and showing in Google webmaster.
