  • A little lower than you have on your image you should see a link page with "your website" and a little tick next to it the tick means its been linked. You can test here - https://support.google.com/plus/answer/3402542?rd=1

  • In short - no. Videos can appear for any in the SERPs - and it will vary dependent on the keyword in question. If you're struggling to get about 5, I suggest you probably just need to build more/better links to see substantial increases.

  • Hi Paul, I totally agree with you. Development is outgrowing crawlers but then again this has always been true. Designing and programing for crawlers is something SEOers do but not programers. The thing is that clients want traffic and conversiones and cool technology. However if you only do cool technology without accomplishing business objectives, the project will not be consider successful in the clients eyes...just my 2 cents.. Regarding doing SEO and Parallax Scrolling, I think these two sites accomplished it nicely. I have not found any others. Both are responsive which is also a must. Kickpoint.ca accomplished telling a story through its graphics and the site is light and versatile. However its onsite SEO could be improved with a little effort. Posicionamiento Web accomplished great onsite SEO but poor "story telling parallax scrolling" effects. The site is heavy and not as versatile as kickpoint's. One option is to do parallax scrolling on the home and regular internal pages. This makes the site light. Good Luck. Carla

  • I have also loaded up my keyword data about a week ago and it keeps telling me to come back in 24 hours. Not getting any new ranking data (or any initial data I should say).

  • Thanks John,I'm already working through link removals. Some of the the competition in this niche have v. poor sites in comparison (design / content) but not the thin content of our client which suggests to me that Google doesn't like the pages (especially if they're getting de-indexed now ) so I think we should look to remove these thin content web pages. I don't think losing these pages will make a massive difference in terms of traffic with the majority of these pages generating single figure visits year on year. Regards,Ade

  • Thanks Miriam. I understand that all of this is dependant on the amount of competition, domain authority, and  links to specific pages, as it is with any page. The is and does stuff I think falls under the category of including as many variations of the related phrase as possible, which I also try to do with any page.

  • Couldn't you just set it up on a new account ? You can then provide them with the current stats (report) from the account you own ?

  • I'm still a little confused. Perhaps because we are thinking of different things when we say "category page"? I think of "category page" as a special page in the flow a customer goes thru when they start on your home page. Like this:   Home page (has links to all the categories)  >>> Category page (has links to all the products in that category) >>> Product page (has complete description and the Buy button) So in my view, it is perfectly normal for the Category page to have a link going out to each Product page it serves. That might be 5 products or it might be 50 products. If you feel there are too many products showing on the Category page, then you can use Sub-Categories to decrease the number of links.  Like this: Home page >>> Category page (has links to all the sub-category pages)  >>> Sub-Category page (split logically, like Men's bikes and Women's Bikes, or Under $200 and $200 to $400 and Over $400, etc)  >>> Product page You may also want to check with your e-commerce system provider. If they don't have an arrangement that you like, there are lots of other e-commerce systems out there...

  • ** While this type of content would undoubtedly drive traffic, many users would not convert into customers as there is no service nearby. ** I agree.  My sites have lots of this type of content and I work very hard to get this traffic.   If you use Google's DFP you can target your house ads to display a geographically relevant creative for certain locations (for example... sports massage in Bentham, or Birkenhead, or Accrington) and show adsense for any other location.    This enables you to promote your own services where you have them and adsense to all other visitors.  You can also sell this geographically targeted ad serving to specific clients. I like the idea of a side menu but do you think this would be enough to allow the pages to rank? If you have a kickass article that gets a lot of links it will start to pull traffic for these geographic terms.  If competition is not strong or your pages develops significant link strength, then you could rank for these terms.   I get lots of geographic term traffic from these types of pages.  Lots.   If you have one of these pages with 30 great links it is going to compete.

  • Hi Ocelot Wow they have a few Facebook fans don't they!! I agree how many of these will actually be customers though ?? The customer social recommendation is a great idea to explore but how knowing us Brits they hard part will be getting them to actually do this!! Customers are very quick to head to social media when they have a complaint but not as quick to praise!! I guess the best strategy would be to "Just Ask" I have found happy customers in the past to be quite accommodating I am sure there could be ways to help incentivise these social recommendations but you may be heading down a slightly grey area. Kind Regards James

  • The site no longer exists? Then the link no longer exists, and there shouldn't be a problem.

  • We have seen it strike one of our competitors this week really, really hard. Like going from #1 to out of the top 50 for 150 geo keywords. How long ago did you disavow the links? If it was over 3 months ago, it might be time to look at doing a URL change. Unless you have a lot of time to play the waiting game with Google. If it was less than 3 months ago, I would give it that long and see what happens while really focusing on building high quality links.

  • Hi There Karl's answer was fantastic - and I just want to emphasize as well - if this is decently strong brand I would put some more effort into recovering from the manual penalty. As tedious as this can be, if it was just a "churn and burn" site I'd say just axe it and re-build. But go to Keyword Planner - how much brand search volume does the company receive? Try [brand] [brand.com] [www.brand.com] etc - if this number is at least in the hundreds or thousands of brand searches a month, I'd work to remove that penalty and let the brand signals help you recover. Also, does the main site receive a lot of direct traffic? It just sounds like if you can get the penalty lifted it will be an easier recovery than just some exact match domain that's not really a brand. -Dan
