By second site within the site, I simply meant that once you're at the "home page" for the second location, virtually all of the menu links and content are unique to that location. For example, the root page links to Services > Service 1 which is optimized for Initial Location Services. On the Second Location home, they'd be unique URLs/Pages and would not show the initial locations NAP in the footer or anything. "I'm not completely sure of what you are envisioning here, but did want to mention that I think it's important that the pages for both city a and city b are accessible from the main menu." We will definitely have a link to our additional location in the main menu. The home page is a functional WordPress layout for the initial city (which is in the domain name), the menu/homepage will have a link to the additional city (which is the same layout as the main homepage, but with a unique menu and NAP). I definitely plan on having the homepage link to our second location so we can piggyback on the authority/juice of home page. Wesley, Thanks for the detailed and informative post. The only thing I'd like to point out is that I'm not referring to building out pages for service areas (although we will do that for a few of them), but an additional "home page" within the site for a city we actually have a location in. So basically it's quite a bit different than building doorway pages when it's a legit "home page" for our actual location.

Hi Gregory - Yes, as Frederico mentions you do not have to put the rewrite cond. before every rewrite since it the htaccess is on your root its implied. You might need to do this if you creating multiple redirects for www to non-www etc. Also Frederico is right - this isnt the best way to deal with these links, but I use a different solution.  First I get a flat file of my inbound links using other tools as well as WMT, and then i run them through a test to ensure that the linking page still exist. Then I go through the list and just remove the scraper / stats sites like webstatsdomain, alexa etc so that the list is more manageable. Then I decide which links are ok to keep (there's no real quick way to decide, and everyone has their own method). But the only links are "bad" would be ones that may violate Google's Webmaster Guidelines. Your list should be quite small at this point, unless you had a bunch of links to a page that you subsequently moved or changed its URL. In that case, add the rewrite to htaccess.  The remaining list you can simply contact the sites and notify them of the broken link and ask to have it fixed. This is the best case scenario (instead of having it go to a 404 or even a 301 redirect). If its a good link, its worth the effort. Hope that helps!

Hi, We do have custom reports that you can create for your campaign. Right now we only have it where it can pull daily or weekly. Good news tho, we are working on adding monthly reports and we hope to have it out by end of Q1! You can create a custom report by clicking the "Custom Report" button on the top right corner in your campaign. Cheers, Steffany

Let's start with the basics. There's a tag there that does not exists: "fb:ids", I guess what you wanted to use here is "fb:admins". Now, the debugger is actually using the content in your meta tags properly. I tested also posting it to facebook and it also shows the appropriate data as you have specified in the tags, see the screenshot. HDMRMmY.png

I am sure this is extremely helpful information not just for me, but for many other folks here who've observed some of the same things on their sites. Yes, I agree that the conversion issue could very well be a mobile optimization problem and not a Safari problem as we have spent very little to no time optimizing our mobile site. Given the traffic levels coming in via that channel, it's probably time to get crackin'! You guys are awesome!

Perhaps those URLs were indexed before you blocked them. If you have them blocked now, either by robots.txt and/or by robots meta noindex tag, you can use Google's URL Removal Tool in GWT to get them out of the index. It may take awhile though. I see nothing wrong with adding a nofollow tag to those href links. Go for it. If nothing else, it could help you salvage your crawl budget.

Our software is web-based, hence the log in. One of customers' complaints has been the difficulty in finding the login page, so we wanted to make that easier for them. We've identified that over 70% of visitors to the product page are current customers looking to log in, so we'd like to save them a step by serving the log in page directly.
