  • Hi Mark, Agreed, you should definitely change the contents for the duplicate websites; however, you don't have to remove the duplicate contents from those sites as it might've generated a few links, authority or bookmarked.  I would suggest using 301 redirect from the duplicate site to the Main site's content.  Make sure content A of duplicate site redirects to content A of Main site.  Another method is to use cross site canonical to tell engines that the content on the Main site is the original. Good luck creating new contents!

  • Right now, there is not a way to have multiple users to the same Moz account, though that is in development. One thing you could do is ask the freelancer what reports they would like to see, then run those reports, download them, and email them. They could also take a free trial and be able to set up a campaign for your site and see most of the same data (they just won't have historical data).

  • No but I've heard of it. I tried their Ninjagram program and it seemed like an okay tool, although I was quickly blocked by Instagram. Would be interested to see how this turns out. I think they have a free trial that you can use for a few hours.

  • Thanks for the advice, we already create and submit the XML sitemap to Google, that wasn't the question. Would there be any benefit in creating the urllist.txt file?

  • If you are showing the content to only your own URL dependant on how your accomplishing this Google would be none the wiser. I have applications which cannot be seen by anyone who isn't on our IP. Done the right way Google wouldn't see it either!! Unless of course you work for Google!

  • Thanks for feedback Marie... I did notice one newswire specifically told me they didn't auto-syndicate the news release (with links at least sometimes, I presume), so I'm giving those guys a trial on my own site, just to see what happens.

  • Okay - After some tweaking, it's actually not TOO bad. Not sure if it was just me, but they are looking okay now. Shame that they are just scanned images as PDFs, rather than true (searchable) PDFs, but they are not too bad. Odd filename though - Vanguard something or other? I think I'll stick with this and perhaps with some testing of dragging the elements around, I'll be able to get the page breaks at a decent spot!

  • Hey James, Thanks for the question. It sounds like you're seeing the 25 links per root domain limit that's placed on all reports from OSE. While your total links count is 3115 that includes a large number of internal links and you have several domains that contain more than 25 links to your site. We will cap the export at 25 links per linking root domain. I hope the makes sense. Cheers, Joel.

  • I'm using a tool called GSiteCrawler at the moment, I'm new to it, however it will list all crawlable pages and create a sitemap.xml for you too!

  • Hi Sangeetac, With the new dashboard, I believe most/all verifications are now postcard only. So, simply follow through with postcard verification and then you'll be able to complete the process by entering the postcard pin number into the dash. Takes a bit longer, because you have to wait for the postcard, but typically only 1-2 weeks these days.

  • The latest company is applying a better practice for your site.  Your previous company's methods may have worked a very long time ago and very likely creating a negative impact today.  Since you are accessing MOZ, you can test the validity of their work using the on page grader.  Hope this helps.

  • thx, Sajeet. Can I use jpegmini on images already uploaded to my website? I have tried jpegmini on files before I upload to my website and it is a nice program. Image optimization: I am giving file name, using alt tag and in process of including brief description below each image in an HTML tag format. So optimization I think is covered. It is more about how I can compress these files further, AFTER they are uploaded to my website, or somehow may things run even after. Again, as mentioned in another comment, I am using CloudFlare.

  • To throw another possibility out there, Mark: As a MOZ Pro member, you can take advantage of a MOZ Perk for PiktoChart, which is one of the top online infographic design sites. (You get 60 days of PiktoChart Pro for $1.) I have to agree with Dennis though - you might very well be better off hiring an experienced designer to create one for you. As with so many digital technologies, just having access to the tools is not automatically going to produce a worthwhile product. Good infographics take considerable design skill. It's just like photography - just because you have a copy of Photoshop doesn't mean you will be able to create beautiful photographs. If you do decide to create it yourself, be prepared to invest a considerable amount of time in the project. Good luck! Paul

  • these pages' only unique content will be the dynamic statistical data. So I may have 100 different pages that all have: Median Price Nr of Properites Sold year 2013, 2012, 2011 $ Volume of Sold Properites year 2013, 2012 etc etc Obviously $ and number amounts will be different for each neighborhood, but otherwise same writing and layout across many pages. I wonder if good enough, as just offering value to the users do not always seem to be all we should keep in mind, as I see many websites perform very well taking a simple approach writing a general blurb and nothing more.

  • Hi there, I'll go through the questions one by one: 1. Does Changing the Anchor Text Bad? Does Google have a new way of detecting anchor text changes. Google will note the changed anchor text when it re-indexes the pages the links sit on. There is no hard evidence that this is viewed as "good" or "bad", although if the links are otherwise "bad" (from spammy sources), changing the anchor text won't help - the link would be better off being removed. However, if the link is neutral or good, there is no evidence that changing the anchor text will hurt you. 2. Can I change the Title/Anchor to something more generic, so that the anchor text profile is more natural. Definitely - if you are going to change the anchor, it is best to change it to something related to your brand, e.g. the name of the company or URL of the website. **3. Since this is a Directory is http://obln.org/ - Does anybody know being on this directory bad? ** Free web directories are not advisable places to build links, so despite this conversation about anchor text, I would remove the link in this case. Yes, they have a PR of 5, but it is the best rule for modern SEO to not use free directories as link building tools because they have been abused so badly for spam in the past.

  • Here I am (partially) answering my own question... i just this minute checked a fresh crawl report from Moz which shows that the no-index/follow I implemented in Wordpress SEO for pagination is very much to blame. (Though perhaps not entirely) I just checked Google Analytics for a parallel pattern in traffic, but I don't see one. I did seem stagnant compared to last month a few days ago, but it's up a little now. Being proactive was my motivation. I would definitely still love some insight to my questions, as I am sure I am nowhere out of the woods on this site. I hope my acronym isn't keeping anyone at bay
