Hi khi5 I analyzed your page. You are doing just fine. you are using CSS display none. You are not doing any cloaking. You are doing the right thing. 1. not fooling google 2.not fooling user 3.giving the user a better user experience. Don't worry you are not applying any "black hat" technique. You will not get penalized.

OSE and GWT are useful for links in to the website, but not links going out from the website.

Agreed that link building and therefore increasing the trust / authority of the website are the hardest or most time consuming parts of marketing a website in search right now. You may not see the results of good links immediately - it can take months for rankings to rise as a result of good link building, and the bar for "good link building" is very high right now.

Hi Bob, There's a few key areas which have an impact on app store rankings: keywords in title and description ratings (therefore make sure you're addressing any issues and responding to negative reviews) downloads You can also translate the title and description into other languages, as this can help increase downloads from other countries (provided your app works internationally, international users will potentially be able to use it even if its primary language is English). And you can promote it on your site; ideally, detect the user agent of your mobile visitors and show them the version for their device. I'd also suggest testing Facebook promoted posts which allow users to be taken directly to the app store to download your app. Hope that helps!

Thank you SoleGraphics for the link but seems the issue is somewhere else. I made some more tests. The keyword on my page is "matematică" which means "math" in English. I have searched on google.ro for "site:mysite.ro matematica": Chrome show no results Firefox show the expected results IE show the expected results The google.com show no results on any browser. My site is relatively new so probably it will take some time for receiving results. I am wondering if I am writing in the meta keywords the keywords without diacritics if will help the search engine to understand that the keywords with and without diacritics are variants of the same keyword.

Odd - the exact page is http://www.evo.com/alpine-ski-boots/full-tilt-drop-kick.aspx. But there is no Schema markup and the OpenGraph image is of the yellow boot and so are the product images… The image they appear to be showing is from the “Others Liked These Similar Items” from the lower right nav… [image: full-tilt-drop-kick-ski-boots-2014-black.jpg] Which is not Schema or OG coded…

Disallow in robots would work - especially if the JS is actually rendering a pop up PAGE not a snippet existing on the page. If possible, I would prefer the use of Rel Canonical on those pop up pages - Google is funny sometimes and indexes URLs if you dissallow them in robots.

Poor grammar can be a spam signal to search engines. A typo here and there will not hurt you -- but major mistakes with spelling and grammar in every word and every sentence will likely hurt you. There's a middle ground somewhere, but only the search engines know what that is. Of course, I would copyedit and proofread so that all text is perfect. Not for search engines -- but so that users do not see poor spelling and grammar and then judge your website to be less quality and authoritative. In the end, it's all about usability for humans. Search engines generally aim to show what websites users think are the best.

Hi, As everyone else has mentioned, nofollowed links are not passing PageRank and therefore should not be influencing search visibility as assessed by the Google Algorithm. If there is no manual action in place then there should be no reason to disavow them. However, I look very differently at nofollowed links in the backlink profile of a site that has a manual action in place. In that case I ask two questions: Is the site one that is in any way undesirable? Are the nofollowed links part of an obvious large-scale manipulative effort? If the answer to either or both of these questions is yes, then I choose to both attempt to get the links removed and also disavow. The reason for this: of course I don't want links from dubious sites which even though not passing PageRank could be doing damage to my brand and reputation  and; when asking for reconsideration (judged by a real human being conducting a manual review) I believe that ignoring links that were obviously placed with the intention of manipulating search rankings simply because it didn't work, hardly shows a commitment to the "good faith effort" expected by the Webspam team. So, I go to the extra effort to try to remove and also disavow. Marie is quite correct in suggesting that there are cases where links on some pages are followed and on other pages nofollowed - in fact we see instances at rmoov where URLs that contain multiple links to a site are actually a mix of followed and nofollowed links as well. As suggested ...you have no control over those links at all, so once you have decided which ones really need to be dealt with disavowing is the safest option available unless you can actually get them removed. Again, I think the point has been fairly well made above ...Local directories are not all bad. Check for compliance with the Webmaster Quality Guidelines (which for paid directories includes a clear statement in their terms of service which indicates that you are paying for a site review and not for inclusion). The most relevant Guideline is the one about what Google views as "Link Schemes" Hope that helps, Sha
